its not uncommon to drain them in contact sport community. You can avoid these most of the time by not ripping your head out of spots where some is squeezing your head. wearing headgear is good but ive heard that it can cause some really bad ear injuries if it get ripped off. People can definatly avoid this though.

dont mistaken this as an infection. its an injury. Cauliflower ear forms if the ear is smashed (heavy pressure), hit (punch), or rubbed really hard. Its a simple case of rubbing the skin away from the cartlage or can also be break in the carlage . It forms nearly instantly when it happens alot of the time and sometimes it takes up to several days. When you drain it like this you have to do it 2 or 3 times for it to stop filling back up. We also find it important to keep a clamp on the ear after.

I've done this but it's like Dan Henderson when people see the ears they leave you alone.I was at a C/shop in Amsterdam & the budtender was giving an American couple a hard way to go which is unusual as people are mostly really friendly over there .I walked up to him & told him he was being rude, he and one of his wanker mates statred running their mouths & the one guy said to the other "ears mate ears" they calmed down and aplogized to the couple. The ears ugly to some get respect from others .

I would say not to "start" a fight unless you are in a do jo or gym. Anything can happen in a public situation and I do not like to get in to fights esp. when there are females around, unless they are fighters to it's called collateral damage. Still if you are going to fight someone it's a good idea to check the ears as they can tell you a lot.

Why is that you know the story, seems like there is one shop in particular that is well known and the guy who works there tends to be rude especially to American tourists and it's not like it's out of the way or just a local hangout. when the cartilage in your ears gets injured it quickly fills up with blood and soon hardens within a week and make your ears look deformed, hes just draining it so they wont look so bad later on
