Or eh could go with an optical so he could get it in the actual "5.1" or "7.1" surround.

or use the hdmi cable and connect it to the reciever's input, then connect the reciever's hdmi output to the tv.

You need a reciever, you can't plug the speakers directly into your xbox, unless you plug the speakers into your tv.

just hook up your audio cords (red & black) from your xbox in to the reciver and the video (yellow) into your vcr with the yellow going into your vcr turn the receiver to vcr if you have a audio/video receiver

can you take a vid of your tv back panel for me i got two inouts in back one is audio out so you go from audio out to audio in on the recivier and if you have a cable box with rca sockets you go from audio out on that to audio in on the back of the tv but i dont know what the third ones are on yours send me a video ok
