  • I like this guy, and everything on his video is fine but a lot more could be said. the rod with a lot of parabolics could almost be anything with a fast tip. Mono line is a great advice, but how about a lb size...like 17......baitrcaster reels at 6.3:1 is great, but other opions exist...he should defend his position.

  • Just because a rod has a fast tip doesn't mean it has a parabolic action. My 7' Heavy action flippin' stick has a fast tip, but it by no means has a parabolic action. A parabolic action means the rod has a progressive bend from tip to backbone. As far as line size, 14lb. test or heavier. I tend to use 20 lb. test for all my topwater fishing. As far as the reels go, I think Zell's remarks are right on the money. You want a fairly fast retrieve reel for topwater fishing.
