  • Facts about the game

    1) According Wikipedia, Wade Philips said he was ordered by Ralph Wilson to start Johnson

    2) Alan Lowry devised the play based on a 1982 SMU-Texas Tech game

    3) The refs were HORRID in the first half of this game, screwing the Bills big time

    4) Both Kickers also played in the 1993 Comeback game.

  • @dolphinsneu with our number 1 defense that year and relativley healthy, who knows how far buffalo would have gone with flutie... i always thought they would have made a run...

98-00 was a very good team

  • @13stevejohnson I think Johnson played very well in that game given the pressure he was under. But yeah, there was no reason to bench Flutie. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened after that game. Would Flutie have started against the Colts or Jags?

  • @dolphinsneu if you remember that year we beat a very similar team in the ravens. their d was sick too in 99 and very fast like the titans. flutie beat them. i always thought flutie matched up better vs the titans becasue of his awareness and savy. johnson was always deer in the headlights. if flutie would have played we win this game by 10 with a late td to moulds.. unreal man.... greatest d in buffalo history gone to waste... that d was epic that year!

  • how is it that bills fans are still crying about this?

  • @titans091052 Because Buffalo was robbed blind in the first half of this game, which was a travesty to the NFL. And I'm a Dolphins fan and a Bills hater.

  • @dolphinsneu Look it was over a decade ago. Besides the Bills aren't allowed to win when it matters. They are destined to be perennial losers and chokers. Even if the Bills were winning 50 - 0 the universe would do something like causing 45 players to all get injured with 10 seconds left on the clock forcing them to forefit.

  • if there was a camera angle that was right at the 25 yard line you would see that it doesn't go foward at all.

  • Forward Pass!!!

  • Another sorrowful ending for the Bills.

  • titans well win play offs and super bowl

  • it was a latterial pass

  • I was there. For the Bills fans, yeah, I don't understand why Flutie wasn't in there. Made no sense to me. My pregnant wife stayed home and that was to this day the only game she ever missed. Good thing because she went in to labor after the game. The doctor had to interrupt my wife watching replays in the delivery room and concentrate on pushing the kid out. Kid was in attendance at the Titans parade three weeks later. I will never forget that season and that play.

  • fuck rob johnson and wade phillips. flutie should have been in there.

  • yea and i feel sry for cowboys fans if they think phillips is gonna take them anywhere

  • RIP Air McNair

  • proof the tennessee titans rock

  • RIP Air Mcnair

  • The rule is, for you bills fans who can't see straight, the ball has to be moving backwards. It has nothing to do with the players, as long as the ball was moving backwards, which it was, it's a legal laterall. btw I'm not a titans fan and rip mcnair

  • I WAS THERE FOR THE MUSIC CITY MIRACLE

  • the titans have the best jerseys

  • look at the line when number 89 throws the ball, behind the line, and where 87 catches it..infront of the line

  • There has been much debate, and it has been proven the ball was thrown 6 inches behind him, yes he was in front, but he reached back, and no one ever sees that part of it.

  • It doesn't matter where they are standing, it's where the ball is when it's thrown, and where the ball is when it's caught.

If you look at it with that in mind, it's basically impossible for the human eye to judge.

  • R.I.P Steve McNair.. From Anaheim, California

He looks so happy right there =[, man i miss my favorite QB....

  • McNair was so happy =(

  • he was :/ RIP

  • Phil Hansen looks like such a loser. In physical confrontations, such as football, the edge always goes to the male with more natural hair growth. It's a sign of superior virility. Bald doesn't count if the male has full growth and just shaves it. Receding hairlines, bald spots and thinning hair males are at a disadvantage to males without those deficiencies. And plus, the guy is a freaking Buffalo Bill. Perennial chokers.

  • You may like your men with a full head of hair, homo, but I'm sure Phil Hansen could beat the shit out of you.

  • RIght, because when Johnson had his chance in the playoffs, he led his team down the field with ONE SHOE to get what should have been the game-winning field goal if the special teams didn't blow it... while Flutie had 10x more chances and literally blew them all... name ONE significant thing Flutie did in his NFL career. You can't. He was a sideshow.

  • you can tell it was a lateral on one specific camera angle where you can tell where his arm is and where the ball is caught the specific yard line. ha its awesome people still discuss that today though

  • I went to this rematch! I was, and still am, a BIG Titans fan, but I'm a big Rob Johnson fan too and its ashame to think about how that one game killed his career... if Buffalo was sharp enough on special teams, Johnson could easily have been Buffalo's first Super Bowl-winning QB.

  • One game never killed his career, Johnson was always a pussy and garbage, Flutie got us to that point that year and dumb fuck Wade started him over Doug. Learn what youre talking about, Johnson has looks and size, Flutie has heart and determination, Phillips has a dick in his ass and poor decisions, and the Titans have a fucking beatdown coming this year after the Bills BYE.

  • haha Flutie was great, right? 0-1 playoff record, same as Johnson. That little troll is living off a reputation he made 20 years ago on one lucky throw. Heart and determination got nothing but a slightly over .500 record and ZERO playoff wins in his career... and on the plus side, Johnson can make kids without autism ;)

  • Exactly! Neither were great, but while Johnson was busy crying about his hurt hair, small ass Flutie was throwing chop blocks on DE's. and on the plus side, youre still a fucking idiot because autism isnt heredetary.

  • Johnson was too busy earning the highest completion percentage in franchise history while Flutie's weak arm and HORRIBLE attitude held our offense back... and get a sense of humor, loser :)

  • you r so right. Forward pass! I was happy to buffalo win the rematch!

  • Yes, it was.

  • wasent it the Afc championship¿? in the descriptions says it was a wild card playoff game S:

  • The AFC Championship Game in that year was in Jacksonville. The Titans after this win against the Bills, they won the Colts to play the Conference Championship against the Jaguars, ok?! :p

  • It was a lateral.

  • Great moment in NFL history. Kinda looked like a forward pass to me though!
