When I had my wisdom teeth pulled out (all 4) I had them put me out. I was completely sedated... I do not remember anything at all from the procedure and I had minimal discomfort afterward.

Thank God I live in a place where one can easily find good quality medical care!

A helpful tip to Dr. S.S. if you can't adequately freeze the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve, add an intraosseous injection (such as Stabident of X-Tip) before extracting lower wisdom teeth. I wasn't given painkillers. i was just sent home with gause and told to keep changing it till it stops bleeding. I felt everything during the procedure, but afterwords I was okay.

I had all mine out and I was awake and really she should have given you more medication still it didnt hurt anymore. All u should feel is pressure but not excruciating pain. First of all I been through many dental procedures and feel Doctor good chair side manner plays a part with me. I had many extractions including four wisdom teeth many years back and only using a local as you may feel pressure but it can be done. Looks like here the dentist did not wait for the anesthetic to work or give enough novicaine. If you feel pain raise your hand is the rule at my dentist and she will stop. the comfort level may be off. Was he given novicaine here or enough?

uhh its not supposed to be like that at all!!! i got all 4 taken out on thursday and it literally went by so fast..my oral surgeon kept asking me if i felt anything and if I did he would just inject me with more anesthesia...I didn't feel a thing and I didn't have to be put under or anything..and also I'm 17 and a girl and if i can take it then everyone else here should be fine :)

@miamihotbabe I got mine taken out a little while ago and I'm not swollen at all becasue I got them out before they grew too big. It feels like I got punched in the jaw, but during the surgery it didn't hurt at all and the anesthetic worked like a charm. I couldn't feel my face from ear to ear for a while though! Weirdest feeling ever.

This is almost the exact opposite of my oral surgeon to be. He's not mean, but he doesn't tell me any information about having my wisdom teeth removed. All he told me was that they were impacted and that they should be removed as soon as possible. (THAT'S A LOT OF FUCKING HELP A-HOLE!) I really want to be aslee for it. If I'm not fully asleep for mine, the doctor probably won't be able to feel his genitals for a LONG, LONG TIME!! So he'd better make sure I'm not awake & my mom's not in the room.

asleep or no sleep....it really doesnt matter. The irritating throbing pain is actually after the teeth is removed and after whatever kind of anesthitic you were on wears off. Thats when the pain starts.

This video it's exactly what showoff's do. This dentist practices basic principles as an aseptic field, and surgical scrubs. But this does not makes her any better. First off, the anestetic technique was off the charts. 2. Surgical procedure quite messy, and 3. theres no way someone should shut up patients. I'm a dental surgeon in Mexico and we do practice in a better way. My recomendation: for wisdom teeth go a maxillofacial surgeon. greetings.

Either the patient is overly sensitive(being difficult) or the dentist is not oing a god job on gettig the patient numb. Wisdom teeth extraction could be done with local anesthetics without sedation and it could be done by experienced dentist or oral surgeon. Just make sure to find a dentist who's done the procedure many times with good training.

I just got all 4 wisdoms pulled last week and it was virtually painless. Make sure you go to an oral surgeon rather than a regular dentist. Trust me its worth the extra cash if thats the issue. They put me to sleep and when i woke up they were out, my mouth was frozenand i dont remember a goddamn thing. Stay on the pain meds and keep the holes clean. The worst part for me was feeling like i was going to die of starvation. Mashed potatoes and gravy (lots) is the secret to staying full.

I had three American dentists misdiagnose my TMJ, and the person who got it right was a Jamaican dentist. Bad medical practices can happen anywhere, so it's important to get recommendations.

I just got all four of my impacted wisdom teeth out, I didn't get a choice between oral surgeon and dentist, They told me if it was erupted, the dentist does it, and if it was in the bone, the surgeon does it.

Just had one wisdom one molar removed. Done by Dentist/Surgeon who is a professor at Loma Linda University in CA. Went to sleep, felt nothing. Only pain 10hours after surgery is in the jaw tendon. No local pain, no painkillers.
