and elk has more slender antlers, can grow up to around 1200 lbs while a moose has very flat antlers that grow out much like a leaf. they also get a heck or a lot bigger, I believe in the 2000+ lbs range. moose are almost black, while elk are a light tan to a dark tan.

They are two different species altogether. Since you're from Sweden you might now what a kronhjort is (red deer). Elk are more closely related to those than to moose. Elk are bigger than red deer but smaller than moose. Search youtube for Elk and you'll see.

You misunderstand this because the word Elk is so similar to the swedish word for Moose (Älg). Elk in Swedish is Wapitihjort. Look them up on wikipedia or something
