Eminem did not do his own 'version' of the song, nor did he 'rip it off'. He sampled the chorus from the original, manipulated the sound a bit and used it in his track 'Like Toy Soldiers'. It's common practise in Hip-Hop and other electronica music genres. If you don't know what sampling is, look it up.
