I actually don't agree. Claire is Aaron's biological mom, but it's Kate that took care of him for almost all of his life. She was even there for his birth, in my eyes Kate is Aaron's mother.
And now that Kate is willing to sacrifice her own happiness to find Claire is just unbelievably sweet of her. And makes me love Kate even more, if that was even possible :)
