Diabetes is a disease of the metabolism. Does anyone know about cinnamon and the results with it and Ginger. There have been studies done. and it does result in lower blood sugars.
I am also diabetic (type 1) I was diagnosed a month before my 14th birthday. My birthday is November 14th (World Diabetes Day!). I hope to be a successful actress and singer and to prove that having diabetes shouldn't effect your dreams and ambitions. Please visit my youtube page to hear me sing :)
I'm against the Protect IP Act as written. If it passes, then it will be more difficult for diabetics to import the natural pork & beef insulin that they need for survival and quality of life. Even Eli Lilly stated that rDNA synthetic human insulin wouldn't work for some diabetics and rDNA human insulin is the only insulin available in America. Why isn't natural pork & beef insulin protected by the "Orphan Drug Act"? Pork & Beef insulin should be available to American diabetics again.
Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes are different. ALL Type 1's NEED insulin, only SOME Type 2's do. A Type 1 Diabetic can not be "cured" by eating better or losing weight.
I believe it is unfair to look down on type one or type two diabetics...research shows it is a genetic disease that is correlated with obesity and not causually related. True...someone with type two diabetes can be in better control with diet and exercise...however, that doesn't mean they "brought it on themselves". They had the genetic make up to develop this disease, and they need medicine, food and exercise to help their insulin flow since their cells are more resistant.
@AbiAbzSpirit94 I ended up in the hospital 2 days after being diagnosed as a between type 1 and type 2 diabetic (non-existent diagnosis) by an obviously under-qualified physician. I also nearly died after being placed on metformin which aggravated my keto-acidosis and caused uncontrollable vomiting
Dr. Faustman (real doctor with a brain) is going to cure type one diabetes! the fake doctor known as the same name can go to hell. I left a comment somewhere about the fake one if you see it send me the link
thanks!
this has been on my wall for awhile! I am NOT refering to the Dr. Faustman who has discovered the cure. I am refering to an impostor i heard about a few months ago. ignore that one! every one who can should to Dr. Faustman! google her if you don't know who I am talking about
My son has had this LIFE THREATENING DISEASE since Dec of 2003. We will be celebrating 7 years this December.....Celebrate??? Because we have made it this far, and we won't let Type 1 stop us. I can be very positive about it, but at the end of the day in the end Diabetes control's the individual. I am tired of people stating that you control the diabetes. We have had too many near death experiences, where we have been incontrol the right way, and it's turned ugly.
@lauralamet You're very right i think it's kind of unfair too...and many people don't know the difference and this makes me sick..because i have type 1 and my classmates don't understand the difference...phhhhh.....
don't you think its kinda unfair to have type 1 diabetics which is only 5% of the diabetic population looked down on by friends, people and by the media due to the similar name associated with "type 2 diabetes". I really think they should change the name of "type 1 diabetes" to a completely different name, in order to help get more funding to this specific form of diabetes which does not even have a cure yet....
@lauralamet They've now identified as many as 16 genes contributing to T2. I think what is unfair is people like you who have diabetes themselves implying somehow those who have T2 did it to themselves. Kindly explain the slender T2s and the fat people who don't have diabetes. T2s share common genes. In many cases obesity develops after and as a consequence of insulin resistance because insulin controls deposition of fat. Maybe they should have two names so we don't have to deal with ahole T1s.
@lauralamet there are many myths surrounding T2, and I agree with @gphx It is unfair for people who have diabetes to somehow imply that T2 bring it upon them selves. obesity is only 1 of the many risk factors for t2 and while there are genetic factors for both t1 and t2,its important to remember that There is a stronger inheritance pattern for type 2 diabetes. please explain to the trim people who are diagnosed with early onset T2 in their 20s that they brought it on themselves.
Check out the documentary "Simply Raw", where 5 people who stuck with a raw food detox program cured their diabetes within 30 days. By the end they had completely stopped their insulin and had normal/stabalized blood sugar.
diabetes 1 is an auto immune disorder passed from the mother to the baby and it signals the lack of vitamin D which is a master hormone immune system regulator and certain minerals that help regulation of sugar and production of insulin, mainly magnesium
A cure? wait, Halle, don't YOU have a cure for type 1 diabetes? Didn't YOU say you cured yourself with diet and exercise? Wow, you must feel really stupid now. You didn't even know the difference between T1 and T2 diabetes when you claimed you cured yourself of T1, and now here you are as a spokesperson for finding a cure. disgraceful.
@RGlantz - Good point dude! In another YouTube video Halle no only claims to have cured her type 1 diabetes but actually say she "had type 1 & cured it so she now only has type 2" That like says she had terminal cancer & now she only has acne because she found a cure! Type 1 & type 2 are not even the same illness, the difference between the 2 are a huge as the difference between cancer & acne! & believe me i know a lot of American diabetics who hold such dumb views!
@actrapide Haha I love your analogy :) Exactly, I am still disgusted with her claiming you can cure Type 1, she could have killed somebody. For god's sake, maybe she did. She really needs to do a PSA on the fact that she was damn wrong. Maybe people don't want to accept they have Type 2 because it's generally related to being overweight, etc? Anyway, it's sad.

I went to my doctor with all the symptoms, and nearly died 2 days later - because he told me I had a cold and needed to go home and rest.

@lauralamet I blame the ill informed media for the misinformation and the blur of type1 and type 2.
You make a great point.
Be sure to check out Dr Faustman on the net and Face Book. Very important for every type 1 to know.
