So Ray Comfort follows the bible until it comes to something that puts his life at risk. Then he concedes that it would be CRAZY to deny the findings of science.
Here is perhaps the mother of verses ignored: “Judge not, that ye be not judged” (Matthew 7:1) and “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged, condemn not and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). I have yet to meet a Christian who has not judged my atheism. The whole world is chalk full of judges, juries, voters, employers, teachers, etc. which are all constantly judging others.
Christians are not supposed to take their disputes before non-Christian courts or judges. (“If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?” -- 1 Corinthians 6:1 NIV) How interesting! Considering that state is separate from church all courts are supposedly “ungodly”. Does this stop Christians from tying up the supreme court with law suits concerning school prayer, abortion, or numerous other absurdities?
Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven”-Matthew 5:18-19 RSV). Heaven and earth still exist and many prophecies are not yet fulfilled. Jesus was the lamb and abolished it”? Don’t let them get away with this shit for even the bible says that they should still be following the Old Law.
Jesus does say that you should follow the old law in the old testement from his words in the new testement. Truth is that, no claimed christian is a believer unless they follow and believe all, old and new testement. They just want an excuse to feel better and be righteous along with hiding their offenses making profits. Also gaining power. (“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished.
Comfort is unbelievably frustrating! The thing about common sense is that it is *common*! If we relied on common sense to discern the truth of the universe we would not have the theory of gravity, we would still live in a geocentric universe, we would not have the theory of relativity, etc. Whenever anyone tries to discredit science with "common sense" they can be immediately dismissed as an ignorant buffoon that doesn't have the first clue about science.
@TehFunnehMann Here is perhaps the mother of verses ignored: “Judge not, that ye be not judged” (Matthew 7:1) and “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged, condemn not and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37). the most accurate, eyewitness reports were put together and collectively called THE BIBLE years upon years later. But now they are dismissed as accurate simply because they are part of that collection. Outside of the bible, you should research the letters in between the Roman leaders at the time of Jesus. Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Caesar is a good example
imagine something incredible happened. You have several reporters on the scene and several eyewitnesses. They all get interviewed and lets say...50 years down the road they get submitted and all end up on 1 DVD telling the story. The event was questionable from the start to those not there. Now should we dismiss the DVD as false just because its on that particular compilation? My point is thats kinda the rep the bible gets.
@IcemanIV There are different species of flies man. In any case, this particular fly can no longer reproduce with it's original species, it literally changes to a different species and cannot reproduce with it's original species. You have no idea what you are talking about.
I see there are more parts to the Comfort call in. not for me, not now! First. I've got to get this one out of my head before I beat my head against the wall.
All that exists is contingent to something else. The origin of the matter in the universe needs to be explained by the matter creating abilities of a non-contingent power. This non contingent power needs to exist by it's own necessity. Energy is proven to be non-contingent. Therefore a form of energy must had created the universe. Energy has the same attributes we give God, therefore is plausible that God had created the universe.
Your comments about flies evolving to non-interelated species incapable of mating is incorrect. They have proven mutational genetics passing beyond generations but not to completely diffrent species. They still remain flies.
ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE, because of entropy, couldn't have sustained itself from all eternity. Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). Ray is such an ass. He twists what's been said to try to make it conform to his beliefs. He constantly contradicts himself. The rationale he uses to dispute the validity of the scientific method and our acquisition of knowledge is the same rationale he uses to "prove" the existence of creation. He's dumb as a post and I'm surprised the folks at the AE spent so much time with him. You just can't explain anything to Comfort that he doesn't want to hear about.
This guy Ray is so full of himself it's pathetic. At 12:28, he asks Matt, "Why don't I believe it?" Another words, Ray does not even know what he himself believes or doesn't believe - he so so utterly confused, he needs someone else to tell him what he believes. What a crackpot!
Crocoduck of language. Haha yeah I saw that debate of him with Kirk Cameron. Also apes share the same type of morals as us. Dogs and cats show compassion which is forms of morality, so I don't know what Gay Bumshirt is talking about.
Very good episode. The way I experienced this video is that mostly Matt has RC beat on every point. I think it was a brave but a mistake for RC to be on the show.
Matt is very skilled in talking and this show was a lot better than RC vs Thunderf00t.
RC did not have a one good point that a god exist, let alone the god of the bible
HA! Common sense tells me that its utterly ridiculous for a creator like the one Ray proposes to exist. I believed it when I was a kid because I was a kid who also believed dragons existed, but I grew up, and it looks like Ray still has to.
Sure, I must have faith in a person that they've performed their tests in an honest manner. But I only do that because multiple people have done it, and I have the ability to do it themselves. The person can be held accountable.
This takes much less faith than believing in god, an untestable hypothesis that no one is held accountable to.
I wonder if Comfort realizes that by doing these types of appearances he is actually leading more people towards atheism and away from Christianity. Sure, there his devout followers who will listen to this and think that he got the best of Russ and Matt but the majority of people who are capable of critical thought will listen to this and realize how absurd Comfort sounds. This is why I'm actually thankful for people like Ray. They unknowingly help destroy belief in their own religion.
I have to give the dumb shit bag credit for not being shy with his willful ignorance.
I have seen him led to evolution 3 times.
In Comfort v TF00t you can actually see his brain break when he realizes he has just admitted to accepting evolution. Then he back-peddles like a politician caught with his hand down a kids pants.
Yay for famous theists making themselves look like idiots!
I think a lot of religious people are so blinded by 'common sense' to see that the world doesn't make sense. We cannot simply think of the hard questions in terms of the easy ones.
Take the notion that you have never touched anyone or anything ever, because there is no such thing as contact. The only reason you feel anything is because of interatomic forces pushing against you.
That's something completely alien to 'common sense'.
The concept of species is diffuse, not because evolution doesn't occur, but because the human category of species is difficult to define in the diverse realm oif life. Now I think evangelist are not that cunning as catholics, you know, my father's fiancé bought me a catholic Bible (she is catholic), and the footnotes of the genesis were clear, they consider it a metaphor, and they don't deny the existence of evolution, it saves many uncomfortable situations.
They need to isolate the issue and just hammer away at it. They keep allowing Comfort to side track them, as well getting very side-tracked themselves.
Quit dancing around and ISOLATE THE ISSUE! The issue is Comfort subjective experience. Ask him about the experience!
Ask him to define God. Ask him to explain exactly his experience or "knowledge" of the "living" to the audience. If they would just get Ray to admit that his experience is just a warm fuzzy feeling, then he's realize he's atheist
If they could just get Ray to talk about his experience with God, then he would expose to us (and himself) that he's never experienced anything besides a warm fuzzy feeling.
Of course, i'm giving Comfort the benefit of the doubt here; presumably he wouldn't claim that his subjective experience of God is actually seeing or hearing God himself incarnate or something.
But then again, if he did say that, it would be just as well!!
@Wittgensteinism For one thing, he may already know he's an atheist, and he's doing this to make money. But assuming he's genuine, I'm not sure Ray's subjective experience would get anyone anywhere. To Ray I'm sure it feels real and I'm also sure a neurologist would be able to explain the warm fuzzy feeling he had in neurological terms (science), which Ray has already said he rejects (unless it's medicine).
@isaachaze1 "I'm not sure Ray's subjective experience would get anyone anywhere."
It's going to get to the heart of the issue, so that they could actually discuss something of potential influence over what is really going on with Ray.
Dabbling over technical scienctific details are just Red Herrings by Comfort and the atheists eat them up.
But, as you mentioned, it's irrelevant to Ray because he already said he rejects science.
So talk about the ISSUE! Ray's fuzzy feelings! His FEAR of Hell!
@Wittgensteinism I know god personally and I 'll tell you about him - He cusses like a sailor, hits on every hot chick he sees, loves Southpark and Family guy, prefers robes and sandals to jeans and a t-shirt, and I would say he is more into blondes than brunettes or redheads. He hates Rosie O'donell and the view, but thinks that Elisabeth Hasselback is pretty "hot". He always drinks all my booze and has to have the remote when we watch TV.
@DickJohnson3434 Well, Thunderf00t is more into debunking creationists, not discussing with them. Discussion is the AE's forte, that's what they do all the time.
Ray Comfort said at 3:24 "Ok I took the flu shot. you got me." What a punk. That statement revealed to me this all just a big fucking game to banana man ray.
Bacteria doesn't Breed they Multiply There A-Gendered Creatures They split them selves apart creating more they do this by attacking a host cell taking the nutrients and creating a copy of them selves After a while the Bacteria will Evolve Immunities to things Aids is evidence to it It has immunity to almost everything and slowly destroys the white blood cells of the body allowing for other things to attack the host which kills it after a while.
Species to Species transitional forum the most basic one if the Platypus Evolutionary marvel between a Duck and a Beaver With a toxic dart in its back feet.
Watching Ray Comfort get intellectually slapped around by atheists is like a drug to me. On one hand, it's so frustrating that someone can continually use the same arguments full of logical fallacies and yet never budge on his position. On the other hand, it is great to see people like Russ and Matt politely and precisely explain to Comfort why all of his arguments are incorrect.
Fucker showed up at a Dawkins lecture here in SO Cal last year. Here was handing out those expurgated versions of Origin of species with his 50 page hatchet job of Darwin as a foreword.
Im eating while watching this and just as ray said "i dont like having to use blind faith...", i had a mouth full of food. I lol'd. It wasn't a pretty sight :D
It’s fantastic that he openly admitted near the end of this video that he did not believe the DNA, the observed speciation of bacteria and insects, the transitional forms etc as evidence for evolution. After saying that it’s a problem that atheists don’t accept the existence of flowers and clouds and trees and sand grains evidence of creation.
To be scientific it must be repeatable. So read a paper, see how the experiments done. Preform it under the same conditions. You will get the same result. If not it is not science.
I wonder why Ray has never tried to repeat these experiments just to prove them wrong.
So Ray Comfort follows the bible until it comes to something that puts his life at risk. Then he concedes that it would be CRAZY to deny the findings of science.

The evolution evidence is ambiguous. It's not solely explainable by trans-species evolution. That's what Comfort should be saying.

DickJohnson3434 11 months ago 3
@DickJohnson3434 Well, Thunderf00t is more into debunking creationists, not discussing with them. Discussion is the AE's forte, that's what they do all the time.

Ray Comforts penis fits perfectly into Kirk Cameron's mouth. It was designed that way by a creator.

Ray Comfort should not be given this much air time.
JonnyBrotherJr 11 months ago
Ray Comfort said at 3:24 "Ok I took the flu shot. you got me." What a punk. That statement revealed to me this all just a big fucking game to banana man ray.

Bacteria doesn't Breed they Multiply There A-Gendered Creatures They split them selves apart creating more they do this by attacking a host cell taking the nutrients and creating a copy of them selves After a while the Bacteria will Evolve Immunities to things Aids is evidence to it It has immunity to almost everything and slowly destroys the white blood cells of the body allowing for other things to attack the host which kills it after a while.

hahahah he even recorded the time. That was priceless.

@baudiirocz
Fucker showed up at a Dawkins lecture here in SO Cal last year. Here was handing out those expurgated versions of Origin of species with his 50 page hatchet job of Darwin as a foreword.

Thousands of years ago, people would have said, "Just look up in the sky...OBVIOUSLY, the sun goes around the earth, It's common sense!"
Mookie961 11 months ago
"common sense"? Wow, Ray is REALLY diluted.
s8ntmark 11 months ago
Im eating while watching this and just as ray said "i dont like having to use blind faith...", i had a mouth full of food. I lol'd. It wasn't a pretty sight :D
stagaz90 11 months ago 23
For Ray, Wishful Thinking + Credulity + Stubborn Pride + Unsubstantiated Claims = Common Sense. I don't trust that math as a pathway to truth.

lol at "common sense is the method" haha!!!

I could have destroyed Ray easily, Matt shouldn't waste his remarkable intellect on the likes of Comfort.
FreeGuitarLicks 11 months ago
Matt is pretty good.

If Ray has such a problem with believing things by blind faith alone, how does he look himself in the eye? He's out of his Comfort zone here!

Matt's language analogy is actually brilliant.

@theumph Matt should be a teacher. He is truely brilliant.

Wow.. Ray, you just excell yourself everytime !!! What a complete dill
Its the same old story. Ray cant explain how it works, so therefore it must be god. REALLY bad logic there Ray

I feel a little sympathy towards the co-host, Matt was a little domineering. Interesting debate non the less.
raidon04 11 months ago
@raidon04 I think it's cause he's waited so long to take on Ray, he didn't want to share

Evolution is bogus??? He really said that?
Remarkable.
jimhigham 11 months ago 2
It’s fantastic that he openly admitted near the end of this video that he did not believe the DNA, the observed speciation of bacteria and insects, the transitional forms etc as evidence for evolution. After saying that it’s a problem that atheists don’t accept the existence of flowers and clouds and trees and sand grains evidence of creation.
jillum89 11 months ago
To be scientific it must be repeatable. So read a paper, see how the experiments done. Preform it under the same conditions. You will get the same result. If not it is not science.
I wonder why Ray has never tried to repeat these experiments just to prove them wrong.
Just saying
