  • those songs put me through college... AWESOME, indeed!

  • never take these down please

  • this band is so great to listen to,i listen to them literally every day

  • note to self: watch when having a miserable day.

  • I love when that crazy riff comes in at 1:50 and Che does the fast hi hat. This song is brilliant.

  • I saw them on this same tour in Chapel Hill, NC. I was down there getting some eye surgery that I didn't need.

  • ma ny thanks man...wonderful!!!

  • Thank you!

  • 9/4 baby

  • so fucking beautiful!!! life is beautiful when great music like this is flowing into my ears and coating my brain!!

    I love the Don Cab!!!!

  • the part from 3:18 onwards almost makes me want to cry. simply beautiful.

  • 2:30 onward for me

  • tabs someone!!!

  • use your ears.

  • i guess i'll have to be on acid to fully try to transcribe it hahah

  • Golden line up

  • gotta love 9/8 well done

  • You don't consider this to be 9/4? All nine beats in the bar are solid beats, as opposed to being grouped into two or three quavers, as 6/8 is counted (or, at least I count it) in two groups of three quavers: ONE two three FOUR five six. Well done, nevertheless, Don Cab.

  • haven't lived afro pop.

    cool song, cool band,

wish from the desk of elsewhere go was around here somewhere.

    thanks to famousunknown, and god.

  • love this fucking song the bassist looks exactly like this guy zak b that i know who's a huge cab fan and he plays bass haha

  • haha why did this get a thumbs down?

  • i love this song. man, keep up the good work! neat post.

  • shit I wish we could see damon che. :(

  • Eric is a fucking badass in this song. i love his tapping time signatures

  • the drummer is getting older.

  • Everyone is getting older. So what?

  • This is so fucking great

  • My absolute favorite Don Cab tune, thanks so much for posting!

  • By the way, not that it really matters famousunknown, that is Eric Topolski (Ehm), not Pat Morris on bass. We all liked Pat much better, so I understand the mix-up.

  • Hey, Stanford! Do you know the exact date of this show that you filmed? I`m curious about some things.

Also, I don`t want to bother you, but I am compelled to ask: Is part five & six coming soon? You know how anxiety works! =D

    Thanxs my friend!

  • Im sorry guys, whoever does'nt think this is some sad sad stuff is crazy, and does not remember just how fucking amazingly in time they were just a year and a half earlier, Fireside bowl anyone? Gimmie a break, it makes me want to cry, something happend in that year and a half, and it wasn't good. I have talked to Fred Weaver in detail about the Last Days of Don Cab, nothing good was happening as you can clearly see. Still, the more Don Cab out there the better. Sorry about the rant everyone.

  • Are you saying that they were kind of "disconnected"? Obviously, this is not heir best performance ever; but some bootlegs from this lineup`s last tour are really amazing!

What I don`t understand is this: why is this "Afro pop" version shorter than every other version out there? I mean... 5:26? They were in a hurry or something!

Sure, Ian & Damon weren`t getting along those days...

  • I must say that I disagree with your opinion.

This isn`t sad at all. They were working on the new pieces, and they were bold enough to play those pieces!

It would have been difficult to recreate the old tunes without Mike Banfield, but the new pieces were as interesting as the old ones.

This music doesn`t allow mistakes. You lose ONE beat, and the whole song goes to hell.

Like I said before: NOT the best show ever, but fantastic anyway! And in early `00 they were in great shape.

  • i understand the passion

  • !!!!!!!!!!!.

  • Amazing. Such an awesome line-up of Don Cab.

  • thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou

    Iwantmoreiwantmoreiwantmoreiwantmore

  • nevermind!

  • Haha... We have three, and we want four!

Mr. Stanford is fantastic when it comes to suspense & climatic moments!

Don`t worry. We are not going anywhere!

  • where did afro pop go? it seems the same video was uploaded twice

  • "Haven`t lived afro pop"... What a song!

The studio version is one of the best tunes that I have ever heard.

The guitar parts are simply wonderful. And the harmony change in the middle (3:59 in studio, 3:17 here) is unespected and powerful!

Nice bass work from Eric Emm in this live take, looping two-hand riffs.

So fantastic to hear & see this song! Thanxs!
