Very thankful to Joshua (probably not the real name), the producer. I went to Blockbuster to rent "The Lady." Since they didn't have it, I got this video, Burma VJ. I am not a political person. Without any interruption, I watched from the beginning till the end. It was very touching. Really touching. Peace to all the people in Burma. I am sure change will be there soon. I am praying...

@JimmyFormerMarine your comment reflects ignorance of astonishing proportions. I could try to explain to you that as at the time of these riots it was your darling "christian" president Bush in power but the concept of logic means very little to you right wing nut jobs.
@muthia12 Hussein Obama was born and raised a Muslim. Not only that but he was sworn in as President with his hand on the Koran. You can deny it, but it is true.
@XxGreenDayzxX we should donate some money -somehow- to them to afford thi latest miniscule camera that they wudnt have to be chased around for carrying a mere camera.
READ THE BOTTOM POST FIRST ----, joind the people, lead by an anticomunist, witch ruled Romania for 12 more years to comme (in a democratic comunism, but still, it has been a change). I hope that one day the people of Birmania will have a brighter future.. congratulations to the cameraman for they're courage to show us what they see and feel.
This is fantastic.. the U.N. does not respond to these atrocityes? Why is the world organization so infiferent, there should have been severe actions by now. The eceonomical suppresion is not enough, it showld be a military liberation in witch, probably many more would die, innocent citizens, fighting in the wrong side ot the threnches, but still, in my opinion, it is the only solution. I am from a country witch escaped from Comunism in a similar way, Romania. Here the army, after killing
wow a remarkable film that is shocking and revealing to the plight of the burmese. Having visited burma in the summer of 1988 i can tell you this documentary will inspire you. The brave cameramen who documented the 2007 uprising with handheld sony cameras is simply amazing. The world never would have seen this brutal dictatorship without so many willing to risk their lives to film the events of September 2007. Fantastic documentary!!! the tipping point will occur not if but when.........
@BeaverStudios Alright there is 3 things wrong with you comment: 1st thing, how can documentaries be clever? It's a movie genre... not a living induvidual... A movie genre can not be clever! 2nd thing, don't you mean that documentaries are to hard to understand for youtubers? 3rd thing, You are on youtube too you moron!
"Oh, shit" Lol. I remember when I visited the house my mom grew up in Burma, the power went off often. I was fun as hell when my cousins and I played with candles.
if you want to do something to help there are several NGO's on the Thai/Burma border (you would be on the Thai side) doing several things like teaching English to Burmese people, med students can work at Dr.Cynthia's clinic in Mae Sot among many other things, all you have to do is some research and take the time out. I know not everybody has the funds or time to do this but take some time to use your liberty to support theirs. If this were happening to you, you would want help too.
I remember reading about the march in the newspaper when I was in grade 10. And then last year I saw the trailer for this movie and I just thought that it was fantastic.
Burmese people in order to get some changes try to read about Fidel Castro. Situation in Cuba was very bad but he managed to change it. Protest will get you nowhere...you need to fight junta. And stop relying on the out side world, no one cares. FIGHT JUNTA....VIVA REVOLUTION!!!
i found this documentary so inspiring...so inspiring that i will visit burma in 2010 or 2011...moving to korea for a year in order to teach ESL, then flying or walking into burma from thailand.
@dosedneurons - aung saan suu kyi asks foreigners to not visit the country at present as you are automatically putting money into the hands of the junta.
@DJbruehl Everybody whines about the gov. and officials making mistakes but atleast they're trying, all you're doing is bitching when in reality you havent the slightest clue how to deal with the stuff they do. Well said DJ. :) Nemoyellow is an arrogant retard just looking to nag about something.
the usa and Britain want to talk to the junta..never... they are killing ethnic groups such as Karen tribes, raping children and burning them out,, what is th=e UN doing ..nothing..cowards
@HONGKONGHIBBY The USA and Britain may be doing nothing but countries like China and India have been supplying the tyrannical government in Burma to keep oppressing its people. Well, up until 2008 when India pulled back and criticized the human rights violations. Yes, the UN is doing next to nothing to help the burmese people, but what CAN they do? An outright attack would hurt the citizens more than the military. Stop placing blame and start thinking of answers.
All what need USA and other is not a good life for citizens of Myanma, but only natural resources of Myanma. Like oil in Iraq etc
People of Myanma will be live much better with Than Shwe but without USA sanctions. That movie is a just a high quality propaganda for naive European people.
Are you serious... " People of Myanmar will live much better with Than Shwe "..... Another Government spy.. Do you know how many people he kill... People like you are making Myanmar suffer... it is sooo sad to see a burmese kill by a another burmese..
This just proves how important it is to put cameras in the peoples hands and let them show them to the world. I'm going to air it on my website. It's time the truth set humanity free.

Like these monks, all religious leaders should stand up to the war mongering governments. All religious leaders should lead with love, not fear.
