You have your view, I respect that, but I regrd Booth as an american hero, Lincoln MURDERED 600,000 people and his generals were responsible for the death of over 50,000 INNOCENT southern civilians, and in later years after his [Lincoln] death, 1,000,000 INNOCENT Native American Men Women and Children. in all, the blood of almost 2,000,000 lives are on his and his commander's hands. i have NO mercy for the partakers and commiters such atrocities.

respectfully...there is no right way to do the wrong thing. Lincoln's behavior does not excuse political murder. IF, and I say IF Booth did shoot Lincoln he did us all a great disservice. He tarnished our sterling reputation , and caused additional sorrow to be heaped upon our people (Reconstruction Acts passed BECAUSE of his assassination)
I don't defend Lincoln, but until his death there was a chance of politically reversing the northern battlefield victory after hostilities ceased.

The fact remains his death was used as an excuse to take the final measures in the seizure of power by the central authority.
Without the traumatic event of assassiantion the Democrats could have broght Lincoln and ALL the Radical Republicans to justice.

To respect Booth's ethics is to agree with them. I find it profound that he so animately wished death to all tyrants yet himself subscribed to the ultimate act of tyranny, slavery of a people. But Booth was I suppose as necessary as Judas to Christ when it came to reuniting the Nation.

Your inablility to understand the concept of 'evidence' does not absolve Booth of his crime. Booth did not die in a barn, he was in a barn when he was shot. Surely you know how and why that happened? Go to Wikipedia and search for "Boston Corbett" and you can read a brief synopsis.
Since Booth died on 4/24/65, anyone who says they saw him alive after that date is either mistaken (common in notorious cases) or lying. It's that simple.
What do you think Booth was doing in Lincoln's box?

Any genius detectives out there willing to put on their thinking cap to answer this question: what was Booth doing in Lincoln's box, gun in hand, ready to leap to the stage and shout 'Sic semper tyrannis" (thus always to tyrants)? And all of this just before he jumped on a horse and escaped, hiding in the Virginia back country, writing a diary bragging that he had shot the president? Anyone with powers magnificent enough to hazard a guess?

If you don't believe that Booth shot Lincoln then can you explain the cut in Rathbone's arm? Mary couldn't get away with that. There was a plot to kill Stanton too, I found it in a website I'll just have to look for it again. Booth also had to get out of there ASAP after he shot Lincoln, so why would he remove the bar that he came from (To seal himself in so that no one else could interupt the fight from behind) and run to and past the stage most likely running into Lincoln's bodyguard?

I realize that now. I think I misunderstood the message of this vid at first, and that's why I said what I did about Lincoln's wife. I wasn't being serious. I am no fan of Lincoln, but I do believe that his wife loved him, and was devastated by his death. And I can't support any theory that makes JWB look like a ~fall guy~ or a ~patsy~. He was a man of conviction and strength, and I admire him greatly.

Mary Todd didn't love Abe, she hated him for standing her up at the alter( she never got over it, I've seen letters she wrote from the era)
I don't question Booth's convictions but it just doesn't add up. He ceased being a member of Confederate Secret Service by the end of 1862. Booth couldn't make the Lincoln's bodyguard leave the box that night, but mary could.
Booth got stuck playing a role, and he played it for all it was worth, but he was no assassin.

ok, I think you need to stop for a minute, and think. Why "refuse" to believe that a wife hated her husband enough to kill him? Considering Abe stood her up at the alter...and for another man (Joshua Speed), and then came back and married her a year later it's not a stretch of the imagination to think that she would resent Abe.
What say she learns of another humilation awaiting, and she shot Abe to keep it quite. Does illegitimate children qualify has sufficient catalyst for murder?

I'll have to research this more. I really haven't done much reading on his wife or the overall assassination, though it wouldn't surprise me if it was her and booth was just the fall guy. I always thought there had to be more to it. One guy doing all that with no help is damn near impossible. I feel the same way about the JFK and MLK assassinations as well. Hell I would've been the fall guy if I thought it would help get the country back on the right track.
