  • i love this song is exelent my favorite of ringo

  • I went through a particularly nasty experience a good while ago, and this song, along with several others, was banned from my life for several years in kind of it. In time the ban was lifted, and now I just listen to a very beautifully recorded, perfectly rendered song about heartache. I don't care who wrote it, it's credited to Ringo Starr and George Harrison as a Ringo Starr record. Works for me. Ringo's haters need to get over it.

  • A very unrated song :D

  • Great Song By Ringo Starr

  • The " Ringo " album of 1972 [or 1973] - can't remember which - is easily the closest the Beatles came to ever reforming. Its not Beatles, as the production was particular and explicit with the individual track credits to make it entirely clear that only 3 of any 4 Beatles were involved in any given track. Also, there is no specifically Lennon/McCarthey composition on the album - by that one means post-Beatles Lennon-McCartney - which would have been legally and phusically stopped had there been.

  • i love ringo ;D

  • Imagine if the Beatles never broke up and lived today and still make great music together. That's the world I wanna live in.

  • @Horaciow14 I think of this all the time, what if the Beatles had continued? I have wished it many times. They had solo careers, but nothing ever matched how they sounded together. Six years is what we got. I feel lucky we had that, but they were so incredible, no, magical together. It's tragic to me that they broke up so soon, but people change, they got married etc...as George wrote and sang, "All THings Must Pass" Miss you John and George.

  • Studio version could have been a Beatles song...in Boston in 1973, when the radio stations were playing advanced copies, the DJ's were introducing this song as the "new George Harrison and Ringo Starr song"....later Ringo admitted to performing the vocals whilst being drunk.....

  • Wow. Those photos are incredible, as is this song. What a loving couple they appear to be. I always loved this song, but putting those photos to it is a masterpiece.

  • It's utter bollocks about the jealously being the reason Best was dropped. Anyone who has a reasonable knowledge about The Beatles, knows that it was George Martin who decided he should go. The reason people pull down Ringo's drumming, is because they're desperate to find fault with the ultimate band. Pop music isn't about technical abilities anyway and those who think it is, have missed the point entirely.

  • @Elvisboy1977 You are so right Elvisboy1977. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Ringo had his own style, just like Kieth Moon, and Joe Vitale did, and all other drummers and musicians. They are incredible to watch. People don't give drummers their due. They usually watch only the lead vocalist. Different styles are what make us human beings..there is no right or wrong. And yes, some people just want to be negative. Martin was the reason, and that's not Ringo's fault. Thanks for posting.

  • lovely.....saw ringo and barbara in soho many years ago, she's a dish !!!

  • @Freethequeen1 A dishy bird.

  • Smile

  • One of those songs you'll sing loud in your car. When you're by yourself, of course.

  • As we sit and stare at a 8X10..

  • Só o Lenon que tinha mau gosto com mulheres.

  • The Beatles: three geniuses and one lucky fool who could keep beat and wasn't pretty.Ringo, you muust count your lucky stars everyday.

  • @21farenheit NOOO!! he's great, and HE WAS WHO KEPT THE GROUP TOGETHER!!!

    LONG LIVE TO THE BEATLES

  • @21farenheit Oh, uneducated one; do some background. Ringo was the "clown". The girls loved him. Apparently so did the buying public, as is evidenced by his post-Beatles success. But then again, I wouldn't expect a douche to know this.

  • @auctionguyinmo Oh boy, another celebrity worshiper. Do you realize that ringo doesn't give a rats ass about you. He could care less whether you defend him or not. So come down from the clouds asshole.Stop worshiping people just cause they're famous. And if you do worship someone, worship Lenon or the other two who had real talent.

  • @21farenheit Ringo could not only keep a beat , he had unerring metronomic timing. Most ppl equate his drumming with the very early stuff that the public was exposed to, such as the ed sullivan show. If you actually read the drum charts or listened to the remasters where the drums are finally brought out properly you'd realize the true talent he had.

  • @SOUTHPAW731 I'm not saying he didn't have talent as a drummer. But there are hundreds of drummers as good or better than him.The only reason they chose him over Pete Best was cause Pete was getting too much attention from the girls cause he was pretty so they got this ugly fuck with a passive personality so he would stay in the backround and not attract any atention.By the way, it was all paranoia cause the 3 lads were pretty good looking themselves. I don't think they needed to be concerned.

  • @21farenheit first off there are hundreds of drummers out there,( i know i'm one of them) As far as being better then , well thats subjective, i mean really who's better Krupa or Rich ? Peart or Bonham? silly right. Thats one story perported by Petes family, The job of a good drummer is to support the lead instrument / lead singer .to serve the song. Ringo had perfect time, his style fit their music they didnt need a Bonham or a Levon Helm.

  • @21farenheit the other thing is they needed somebody reliable every band does. you should see how many gigs i get because some bands drummer is MIA or has vaporized or whatever , or they dont know when to quit , to back off on a song they think its there moment to shine. Ringo was a very funny easy going guy. Pete would dissappear or not want to travel and "over played" a piece

  • if this does not tug on your heart strings nothing will

  • preciosa cancion de mi lejana adolecencia me encanta su musica hoy ya se que dice la letra y por eso me encanta ahun mas gracias al culpable de que yo aqui en mi conflictivo mexico la pueda disfrutar gracias. forever

  • this is so great

  • Haven't heard this for years.Magic.

  • George loved Ringo. He wrote this song for him, and it sounds perfect. Beautiful, bright and full of love and good energy. I really love it.

  • good call!

  • this song has great lyrics

  • This song makes me think of my first love. Except that I don't have a photograph of her tho. Hey Michelle K from NB thinking of you, your friend Jesus G from CA.

  • all he has is a phtograph of george harrison. the song is a tribute to a fellow beatle

  • and - Barbara is so beautiful!

  • Very recognizably George's style :)

love 'em all so so so much

  • Starr/Harrison

  • Ringo, cantando "Fotografía", una composición de George Harrison, quien hoy cumple 10 años de su muerte. Te recordamos, George.

  • This 1973 Album ( "Ringo"), includes work of George, John and Paul. This song was composed by Harrison and as for me is the best of the record side by side with "I'm the greatest" written by Lennon. . .The last album where the Beatles work, not together, but joined by Ringo. . .Thanks Richard.

  • I have the Rotogravure album, and I know all 4 Beatles participated in the album, on different songs, but George's part was only as the writer of one of the songs, he wasn't actually present at the sessions. But on this song, Photogragh, George is the guitar player and back up vocalist. We had so many near misses for a Beatles Reunion in the 70's. It almost happened at George's concert for Banladesh, in fact, it was scheduled to happen and they were ready to do it, but Paul and John had a spat.

  • i loved when ringo dedicated this song to george

  • A Photograph and memories are all that any of us have left of some of the most important people in our lives. An absolute masterpiece of music !

  • I love this song. The lyrics perfectly remind me of my stepfather, who succumbed to cancer & went home to his maker on June 12, 2007. It's bittersweet, because although he's gone, he's no longer suffering. R.I.P. James Walter Douglass

  • Killer intro!

  • sound

  • @scatmansmooth Sounds as if someone's got a touch of the green eyed monster on his back. You're obviously a musician, probably a drummer, who really loves to jam......but never went anywhere. How sad for you. Well cheer up Buck a roo, and give Ringo his due.

  • @andrewals Oh right - You wouldn't make a good shrink SIR Andrew. Peace's of Luv.

Why would anyone be jealous of Dumbo's lot?

  • @scatmansmooth Well as the saying goes, Pete is a great drummer but Ringo is a great Beatle.

  • @scatmansmooth How sad for you, you wish you had the talent he has! why dont you just shut It1 dont cares what you think

  • @scatmansmooth

Ringo may have had average skills but he was a great drummer for the Beatles and influenced many musicians and the Beatles themselves. Do you even have any idea how many songs The Beatles wrote based on Ringo's malapropisms?

  • @wellyes hilarious reply. Well Done.

  • apart from the fact ringo bashed the fuck out of her during his drug, drunk infused stage!

  • its amazing that each beatle member had great super hits on their own...shows the master musicians they were

  • ringo no fue el mejor baterista....

    sigue siendo el mejor

  • @TheRevolution150 Dumbo un bastarde c'est que ces?

  • @scatmansmooth

Un bastard? C'est quoi? Vieux francais?

  • One of the greatest songs ever written? I think so...at least it is my # 1 song. Thanks George and Ringo and to you for posting it. What atribute to Ringo and Barbara.

  • Ringo as crazy as he is, Natural man, showing himself with a great voice, that we did not know back on the 60's nor 70's..love him, his Great, love the Memories and he is Special. Regardless who wrote the song, for some good reasond were given to him. He has a super stong voice with power,..love him.

    .

  • Thanks for this video and great song. After all this time Barbara is STILL knock down gorgeous. Ringo just happened to be there when the pictures were taken of her.

  • great song

  • This is as great a song as any of the Beatles masterpieces.

  • @MNEMOJPN I'll drink to that. I've always loved this song.

  • @MNEMOJPN George wrote it

  • @lifehouse57 who cares!

  • George & Ringo Were The Only Ones That Never Fought With Eachother When They Were Beatles.it was mostley John & Paul

  • Harrison/Starkey

  • nice job except at the end of the video you failed to mention that George Harrison wrote the song with Ringo!! Check it out.

  • my heart is broke...................

  • should have put maureen cleave in this , the original mrs starkey , who will always be mrs ringo for us beatles fans!

  • I've seen them at a mall in Monaco. Nice couple. Barbara is a stunningly tall woman & really classy always smiling. Ringo too. Glad to see them still together after Ringo's rehab. Barbara is very forgiving as she & the kids went thru a lot. Ringo's a lucky man with a beautiful caring wife & a loving big family. He was always my mother's favourite Beatle. Miss you Mom.....

  • @billybeau83 That was very nice. I bet she liked him because he was the one with the best humor :)

  • @PlanTonto Gee thanks PlanTonto.

  • 私にとっては、ringoのbest tune。 record で何千回再生したこと事か。

  • This song and one by someone called Pagliaro were in the UK Top Ten at the same time. Two wonderful songs that have remained in my teenage head for nearly 40 years!

  • so many smiles...congratulations to them....what a nice couple they are....

  • If you ever watch the movie "The Postman", Kevin Costner's character is asked about a new government that was formed after a war and who was the president. The Postman is just making stuff up to get a free meal and he says that the new president is Richard Starkey. LOL! That's Ringo Starr's real name.

  • I love this song. When I got my iPod this was one of the first songs I went shopping for. Great audio. Thanks for posting!

  • Everytime i see your face...xoxo i love u P..:))

  • ringo- his brilliance so underestimated

  • Thank you for the support! Please comment & sube my channel

  • Thank you for the support! Please comment & sube my channel

  • this song was obviously written by George. Why? because while it is a minor hit it is also a "pedestrian" hit...which means it is okay but not nearly great And surely the author and singer are not anything more then average performers who happend to make a whole lot off money that rightfully should go to Cynthea & Yoko.

  • PURE GENIUS ... AMEN ....

  • One of my favorite songs -- classic !!

  • All the Beatles stayed friends after the break up. They were always seeing each other,.....George wrote Photograph for Ringo,,,,,Even John and Paul saw each other from time to time,....They all just grew up and fell in love with their women and moved on,...

  • @spookycat113 I believe Yoko even recently credited Paul with helping get John & Yoko back together following the "lost weekend". They were no longer a fraternity of single guys running around together - essentially they grew up and developed interests other than each other...

  • She did.

  • A rare classic. One of the best.

  • a priceless classic human being

  • @triplespiral12 i like back off boogaloo and it dont come easy too

  • Where did they get that giant Chia Pet at 0:41 ???

  • The Beatles used Starr's unusual turns of phrase, or "Ringoisms" as they became known, such as "a hard day's night" and "tomorrow never knows", and turned them into songs.[36] Recalling this, McCartney said, "Ringo would do these little malapropisms, he would say things slightly wrong, like people do, but his were always wonderful, very lyrical... they were sort of magic"

  • Some songs are timeless. This is one of them. Thanks for posting.

  • This one gives me chills. "..and I realize you're not coming back anymore..." What really helps make this song so good is the orchestration. I mean it 's BIG and that makes it pack a BIG emotional wallop.

  • You know, he married a bond girl.

  • awww such a nice song <3

  • I dedicate this song to a friend who passed away four years ago. Still thinking of you my friend. We miss you dearly R.I.P Salvador marquez. a,k.a, Apache.

  • This is so much better than politics. I am so tired of politicians. Why can't the world be filled with love?

  • JAMAS LOS RECUERDOS SE OLVIDAN Y MENOS CON ESTA CANCION , AUN LOS RECUER. DO COMO SI FUERA AYER , AH! TIEMPOS IDOS SIEMPRE SOSCORRIDOS. FERFIDO AGS.MX

  • In Boston in 1973, this was being billed as the new George Harrison and Ringo Starr song......it didn't take too long for this to knock Dream On by Aerosmith (Boston's own) out of the number one position in the charts.......a magical song. Ram on.

  • BRAVO!

  • so im not a beatles fan, get over it and piss off.

  • @eolaeagles

Why bother telling anyone then? If you don't like the Beatles, just keep it to yourself idiot.

  • @MrJohndl hey idiot, freedom of speech, what country do you live in....

  • @eolaeagles

Freedom of speech big deal. Your opinion still stinks.

  • @MrJohndl

Freedom of speech is an illusion - you can get into a lot of legal trouble saying the wrong thing - hate speech , slander etc. Oh yeah, The Beatles are still more popular than any other artist and they revolutionised popular music. Read some history and you'll know what I'm talking about. Over-rated? OMG.

  • @MrJohndl youtube and any other area considered privat isng subject to this right. also, resident s of other countries not having this right Eh? but the owner of this video can set what he or she wil allow, and what they wont. although ive not seen to many of those yet.

  • @yamahonkawazuki

What the hell are you trying to say? Sorry, I don't understand you.

  • @MrJohndl meaning freedom of speech doesnt apply in private areas, such as discussion forums, places like this etc. ( look up the details of the law) you shall see,

  • This song is so beautiful, says what I cannot, and tears my heart apart. I lost my husband in 2003 at the age of 44 and I hope he hears Ringo singing his heart out, hears the lyrics, and knows that this is my song to him. He's never coming back, that's the harshest reality. Love you HS...you were the love of my life.

  • every time i see your face it reminds me of the place we used to go : )

  • sin duda esta cancion es lo maximo de ringo esta de lujo dios le conserve por muchos anos mas

  • Ringo Starr has always been my favorite Beatle... The Beatles will NEVER be over rated!

  • Wonderfull Pictures of Barbara. Don't see enough of her any more.

  • this song is kool , but im not a beatles @ all, in fact i think there over rated .............

  • @eolaeagles

???You think the greatest musical group in history is over-rated?? Really?? WOW!!! Keep your stupid opinions to yourself.

  • Out of all the songs Ringo sang as a Solo Artists, this one affects me the most..George's longing in the lric is not lost here...despite his limited ability to sing otherwise,Starr's vocal is haunting, emotional and exposes raw feelings...a true winner, beginning to end.

  • this is a great song right in the middle of Ringo's purple patch in the early 70's. Pity he couldn't keep it going

  • Ringo should be in R&R HOF.

  • os betales tem mais semelhanças com o som do abba q eu pensava!!

  • The best "sentimental yearning for your ex-girlfriend/ex-fiance/ex-wife" song EVER, period.

    Awesome job Ringo.

  • @LS1LT1 Also quite the right song if a friend of yours passed away.

  • @DiddyTheDuck2 Yes, I agree.

  • @LS1LT1 best yearning for anything/anyone song ever

  • @LS1LT1 Song written by Ringo Starr and GEORGE HARRISON

  • Amazing song.Love the Wall of Sound sound it has.Factor that with Ringo's voice and George's guitar, mindblowing.

  • I just found out Jack Nitzsche did the orchestral and choral arrangements. He used to work with Phil Spector and was a protoge of Spector. No wonder the song has a Wall of Sound sound.

  • get chills everytime

  • Ringo's best song by far!

  • @MsDogben Ringo really did a fine job on this song (proving his success with It Don't Come Easy was no fluke!). George likely had more of a role in the song than Ringo, but I believe Starr did most of the lyrics. George and Ringo were true friends. Harrison was a superstar songwriter/producer/musician by 1970. He never forgot Ringo (or his wife!) and the two worked together often. Photograph was a #1 smash hit that put Harrison-Starkey briefly in the same universe as Lennon-McCartney!

  • @MsDogben Apparently George Harrison was heavily involved in this song....like he gave it to Ringo. Regardless the song and Ringo sound great.

  • @calalilygirl I agree with you, You can tell that george's style and feel was in that song, Ringo did a real good job at singing it; I allways considered Ringo to be the 'Booghie meister of the Beatles group.

  • I notice how it's strikingly unsimilar to Def Leppards song PHOTOGRAPH. And I wonder why anyone gave thumbs down on this, have they no ears??

  • Anyone who says men don't cry haven't listened to this song.

  • @johngears11 Or seen Pink Floyd at Live8

  • @MetallicBill haha, I bet
