@leila13xx I've had mind for roughly three years, got it done when I was 15. And everyones experience is different, but for myself and friends that I know who had theirs done, it's been very painful. The absolute worst part is the healing process, It was almost unbearable for me. But after one week, it's fine. You develop a temporary lisp during the healing process, it's not very strong but is annoying. And after that first week, it's all good. Except i tore my tongue slightly.

@4EVERBVBFAN1 My best friend got it she is 13. She told me it doesn't hurt because you tongue is a muscle so you don't feel it. I want one too but I could never get it cuz of my parents ahahaha. Well in Australia it seems to be fine, at least at my old school. Teachers don't seem to care and people think it's cool. It looked like it hurt in here but I don't know :) Of you live in an environment where people judge due to appearance such as I (i moved from aus) then maybe you should wait a bit :)

@klodogg1 The hole after the piercing will usually close up, no matter how long you've had it. People who've had it for years will often find that even taking the piercing out for a few hours, will result in the hole closing.

I got a tongue piercing 2 years ago but the piercer pierced it way too far back like in the middle of my tongue so that the bottom ball was between the web thing under your tongue, and he barely scraped by one of the big veins in my tongue. I was in s much pain I took it out 3 days later. Great waste of 60 dollars...

@veroliz I got mine done when i was 16 without my parents permission. I'm pretty sure most places you can consent for yourself if you are 16! It's a super easy piercing to hide. & if you're lucky like i was, the healing process is under a week with no swelling or pain!

Just a tip to those wanting to get their tongue pierced, always brush your teeth thoroughly and always clean the wound. Some white liquid would sometimes come out and you should always clean that :)

The first week is a nightmare.....surprise when your tongue swells up 2 x the size. My honest opinion, having all kind of piercings, AND doing all kinds of piercings on clients, tongue piercings get old quick. If you bite down wrong, they can break your teeth. They do not help sexually. A mouth is a mouth. (just sayin....) And it's very likely that you'll play with it endlessly, looking like you have a bad twitch. I say, pierce your lip, your nose, your brow, your nipples.

no getting your tongue pierced does not hurt at all. it was the 2nd easiest piercing i had, i have my belly button and ears also done...it pretty much cleans itself and learning how to eat noodles again was the funniest thing ever

JUST 10 DAYS THATS IT. its easy to look after because all u need to do is wash your mouth with listerene 5 times a day for 10 days. thats it. after that you can change the bar to a smaller one so that it will feel much comfortable.
