After just a tiny bit of research I have confirmed it, just about any Japanese v8 is superior to any American v8 of similar displacement. Here are just a few examples; 2UR-GSE 4969 cc 417 hp 373 ft.lb torque, 3UR-FE 5.7-liter (5663 cc) 383 hp 401 ft.lb torque, Nissan VK45DE 4.5 liter v8 490 hp 380 ft.lb, reportedly capable of 790hp without homologation restrictions. There are no GM or Ford v8 engines that can achieve these performance numbers from the factory. Should have gone Japanese...

Ex- VK45DE is 4.5L, aluminum block and heads, 510 lbs dry, and 27" wide.
LS1,2,3,6,7 are 5.7L-7L, aluminum block and heads, 430 lbs running and 22" wide.
Even the smallest import V8 you listed is wider and heavier than a much larger CID LS.
BTW: You listed the VK45DE from the race versions (490 hp). Production is 280-340 hp
So what? That still doesn't change the truth that the Japanese build superior engines in almost any configuration be it v8, v6, inline or boxer 4 than do the Americans. The Japanese have superior efficiency, technology, output, and emissions control technology. It's a fact, not an opinion. If building a smaller and lighter V8 were a priority to the Japanese they would do that better than GM or Ford too; just take a look at a Toyota or Honda F1 engine.

Chevy had a professional driver drive the ZR1 again instead of one of their engineers and he posted a time within a few tenths of a second from the ACR. Which by the way had a professional post the 7:22 time. I think the chevy is a hell of a lot better all around car than the ACR too, considering that daily driving will be more comfortable and it's as good or better in all performace tests.

So what? That still doesn't change the truth that the Japanese build superior engines in almost any configuration be it v8, v6, inline or boxer 4 than do the Americans. The Japanese have superior efficiency, technology, output, and emissions control technology. It's a fact, not an opinion. If building a smaller and lighter V8 were a priority to the Japanese they would do that better than GM or Ford too; just take a look at a Toyota or Honda F1 engine.

After just a tiny bit of research I have confirmed it, just about any Japanese v8 is superior to any American v8 of similar displacement. Here are just a few examples; 2UR-GSE 4969 cc 417 hp 373 ft.lb torque, 3UR-FE 5.7-liter (5663 cc) 383 hp 401 ft.lb torque, Nissan VK45DE 4.5 liter v8 490 hp 380 ft.lb, reportedly capable of 790hp without homologation restrictions. There are no GM or Ford v8 engines that can achieve these performance numbers from the factory. Should have gone Japanese...

@BIHxJDMxSUPRA we can do this all day.lol a bone stock 2jz motor and a bone stock gt500 5.4 motor with a big turbo and supporting mods the v8 will make more power and last longer doing it. not taking anything from th inline but "no replacment for displacment". any mods you do on a 4cyl or 6cy will make more power on a v8. inlines are reliable. sum of the greatest motors are inline. 225slant six from dodge,300ci from ford but you know whats the most reliable 2 motors? 350gm and 302 ford.

Doesnt make very streetable. A few miles to and from the local car show or drive thru doesnt amount to shit. But just like alot of 4 and 5 second (1/8th mile) "street cars", they are just race cars with a tag and insurance to meet some silly class rules. Chevy had a professional driver drive the ZR1 again instead of one of their engineers and he posted a time within a few tenths of a second from the ACR. Which by the way had a professional post the 7:22 time. I think the chevy is a hell of a lot better all around car than the ACR too, considering that daily driving will be more comfortable and it's as good or better in all performace tests.

Just a fyi. As long as the lights work and they put street slicks on it, it is street legal in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and quite a few other states. Plus, people drive these kinda a cars in town on Drag nights. If yall don't have drag night, i am terribly sorry.

the kind of people who build this car are smart enough not to drive it on public roads.

sorry bout your luck but that is not a street car that is just for the drag strip and you can drive it on the street ,but not daily drive it so its not a street car and i dont think that its a full lsx motor its maybe just the block but i dont think that its the heads and all internals from the ls1!!! so failed!!!

first of all when someone refers to an "LS1" it covers any and all in that engines "family"are you following along? like 4.8,5.7,6.0 etc.. ls1 is just a code for a certain app now lets take the fabulus lsx rated @ 2,500+hp will accept most any "family" part including an ls1 so if i have LQ9 block and LS7 heads with ls1 intake it is still considered LS1 same for an lsx oh BTW hrm just built lsx with twin 88mm turbos makin 2,050hp and more to go with more boost...strap that to ur GT-R
