Thank you for your time-I sooo apreciate it! I have been doing my sisters fencing business and trying to get her to understand these things and you have made my job easier! Now I have to work on doing the payroll part with her because she needs to hire some help!
Yantram offers Credit Control & Bank Reconciliation services in London, USA, UK, New York - Outsourcing & Offshore accountants Company in India provide Bookkeeper for outsource bookkeeping Services for small Business Bookkeeping companies and Firm
You my friend have made my business start-up struggles a great deal easier. I was seriously considering taking the classes offered by a local accountants office for $80 per visit but I think I got this quickbooks program working pretty well thanks to your help. Thanks a bunch.
Have firearm business & need to know how to enter purchases made on personal credit card in 09 & this year for inventory that has not sold yet. 09 taxes filed but, inventory still open. 09 inventory bought on personal cc & not sold yet. We just started using QB so need true account of where he stands even if in the red. Also, I have a company and he has one. We will file taxes seperately. Can we both use this QB for our companies or, do i need my own QB?
it is very beneficial, i must say and dnt worry wht other peple say. I am doing internship now and in that company they are using RECKON's Quickbooks pro 2010. Could you please tell me is there any difference between different co's quickbooks softwares. COuld you please provide tutorial on BAS statements as well.
I have watched a few of your tutorials and they are great. Thanks for taking the time to make them. I have started a new job and have never used quickbooks before, but I feel more confident in the change from using other accounting software to quickbooks with your help. To the picky people worried about you saying umm - get a life and go pay someone to teach you quickbooks if it worries you that much!!!!
This was helpfulbut I was hoping you would address the issue of bank service charges and interest earned in more detail. I noticed that you said that you did not use these option on the first bank reconciliation screen, but that later a service charge showed up on your statement. I am guessing that you made a journal entry for this earlier, and I was wondering how this was done so that it showed up on the reconciliation screen.
Great tutorial. Thanks. What happens to the reconciliation report if you do not print them right away? In other words, if I have done multiple months of recons, can I pull the reports up through QB later?
Good question. It depends on what version of QB you're using.
In 2007 Premier, it saves all past reconciliation reports. In 2004 Pro, it only saves the last report.
To see if your version has saved any past reports, go to Reports > Banking > Previous Reconciliation.
Best thing to do is not depend on QB to save them for you but to print them out when you do them. Or, if you want to save electronically rather than on paper, print the reports out to a PDF converter like CutePDF and save them.
@mjsiemer This tutorial was immensely helpful and clear. I have never used QB before but I am helping someone enter transactions and checks and do reconciliations, so now I feel better about what I'm doing. The only worry I have is that he has entered many random transactions over the past couple years, so I have to go fill in everything from the statements he hasn't already entered.
@mjsiemer Thank u SO much. What do u do if the person has possibly never reconciled before and has entered many random transactions over a couple eyars including a few that are quite old that we don't have statements for to compare....?? Someone is paying me to help him I have never used QB before I don't want to mess anything up for him...
Thank you very much for your videos!!! They were extremely awesome & helpful.
Now, I have a question for you. How did you get the bank statement shown on your quick book? (I mean the pdf file that you used to recon. with your company book) Thanks a lot!

If I started my company 3 months ago, would I need to input the bank statements from back then until now? Or do I just start fresh from today?

Great tutorials, thanks! Just getting started with quickbooks and have two questions:
1) Are there any important changes to the newer versions (i.e. 2010) of QB that will be different from what you covered in you videos?
2) Are there ways to download/automatically get data from online accounts that will save some of these steps?
Thanks!

It's now shown on the Quickbook, but shown along with the Quickbook. He used Alt+Tab to switch between applications.
