it's not just swine flu it's all sickness. When someone is sick they wear the mask to not get germs spread around. My mom made me wear one once, it was odd.

they carry umbrella's because in Japan it's beautiful to be pale so they don't want the sun. Here in america it's beautiful to be tan so we try ot get as much sun as possible.

@storz009 Not really, many girls are around that height (I recall a classmate being even a teeny bit shorter than you) and taller, but most boys are somewhat over and around 170 cm (5ft5inch) ;)

... I should know, I was there this summer and most of my classmates were like the same height as me (the boys), and I'm ~170 cm XD

I dont know if u already know this by now.

but people carry umbrellas in the sunshine because they r protecting themselves from the sunshine (avoid skin cancer) cause the sun is actually ten times stronger than the U.S.A. when I went to japan with my mom (who is japanese) she did that every time she went outside

Also, People wearing those mask, r either sick or like u said in the video they r avoiding the sickness.
