Yes, it is marvelous -meraviglioso. Mr. David Gilmour, Mr. Richard Wright and all their friends are wonderful and fabulous. Greetings from PF great fan.
That talking instruments at then end between Dave and Rick was worth the price of admission alone- I read an interview with Guy Pratt where he said that it was of his favourite memories.
this may of been the greatest concert of all time better than woodstock, beatles first show in america, betetr than pompeii, better than led zeppelin 1975 tour better than better than ELP's welcoem back my friends tour, this was the geratest show EVER
If the fantastic music was not enough my eyes can't believe the superb video shots. Absolutely the BEST concert video I have EVER seen. I Wish I Were There!
The ending to this is just so chill and relaxing it can literally take you out of mind and to places you can only imagine. the soul full sweet guitar playing of gilmore perfectly synced with the keyboard is heavenly to the ears.
Fender is set to call Gilmour Greatest to ever Play their AXE !! Nuff Said ! Rolling Stone is and was a has been. Any musician knows this ! Gilmour Rules and has for years. Cheers
I was there, comming on purpose from Riga. Ouhh!! That was the show of my life.... especially Echoes... it was really worth drive 9 hours each way... amaizing!!!!! after this you need no to see anything else...
Rolling Stone is the biggest piece of shit rag out there. Who are they to tell me, let alone all of us, what matters and what don't? The only way you make the top in Rolling Stone is if you pay up or spread your legs. That simple. Let's hear it for acts that don't kiss ass or compromise.
David Gilmour will be remembered for being the most incredibly underated guitarist that ever lived, and in 30 years from now he will rise in the ranks to a possible no 1 spot!
I guarantee this, its happened to a lot of the greats.
the likes of justin bieber and lady gaga may have all the attention right now but come 40 years time pink floyd will still be sending shivers down your spine. this music is a masterpiece of the highest musical talent there will ever be. to all the people who gave this a thumbs down....you must be deaf..!
Go figure, Roling Stone rag rates Gilmour as 82. You know what i say N.B.N.H. . For all you Rolling Stone rag fans, the translation is ,No Brains No Headaches.
And then god created Richard Wright. God said to him "Go and play with my best creation, David Gilmour and make music with him." The result was Echoes.
I saw Floyd perform Echoes 72 in Crystal Palace park in front of the lake. It was as awesome then as it is here. At that gig ( in daylight) They threw dry ice into the lake
giving the illusion the lake was boiling. Suddenly inflatable sea creatures would appear through the mist, if you were tripping like i was then, is was brilliant.
To anyone who has never seen them live,
you have to understand that it was'nt just a rock concert it was a total spiritual experience.
@emperorsdragon like you i was at that concert, as i lived near by at the time so just went along and have been watching and listening to floyd ever since, in my oppinion the finest band in the world. sadly now will never be the same without richard .
@geoff552 Ah the memories geoff552, great to have shared the same experience as your self also the same good taste. Do not be sad the Floyd have left a legacy to the world that will be forever unequelled in popular music. You and I like many other
fortunate people of our time can proudly say we were there whilst it was happening !! Good luck to you.
@emperorsdragon your right the memories will always remain and i like you , do believe myself fortunate to have witnessed such an event , and many others along the way , and also wish you good luck ...
Top 10? Gilmour should not even be number One. he should be on a pedestal above numbers and let all the other lackeys scratch and claw to be first underneath him. Gilmours playing stands above everything else that has ever been done. There is only one. And there will only be one. Long live Gilmour! RIP Rick!
You don't see many bands try to copy PF. They know they just can't go there. They can only read about the '60s. PF had the voice, the strings, the beat, and damn sure the keys to put you on another planet.
@minotipo16 Rolling Stone is a biased magazine, they still refer to David as the "guitarist" of Pink Floyd. they are unable to admit that this guy was also behind the making of many songs of PF before the break, he was also the voice of the band. They also donT' admit that he proved without any doubt he can lead the band over all aspects, as he did after the break with R.Waters. Many people today recognize Pink Floyd by marooned, high hopes and other success made by DG.
@minotipo16 and one last thing, Rolling Stone seem to not be able to admit that Gilmour, unlike many rock stars, kept improving, getting better with the old material, and creating new ones.
Honestly, i think all this is beyond Rolling Stones understanding. when you read their comments about DG, you can feel clearly they have something against him, while they keep praising R.Waters.
@minotipo16 Those people just do not understand, that's all. And they will probably always live "on the surface", never understanding the deeper meanings and feelings. These same people who rate Gilmour so low on the list, would also rate Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven low on the list also. It's a shame, but it's the truth. They are stuck in a stagnant mental state of idiocy.
Absofuckin'lutely right. Rolling Stone can kiss my ass until there's no ass left to kiss. They are in no way, shape, manner or form anyone to judge what we like or dislike in music. And the so-called Rock & Roll Hall of Fame can go to hell as well.

.......Cloudless everyday you fall upon my waking eyes
inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall
Come streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning
And no-one sings me lullabies
And no-one makes me close my eyes
And so I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky
