Ok wow metallica16 Im a way bigger metallica fan then megadeth/mustain but even I wouldn't underate mustaine so badly, How can you listen to hanger 18 and say all he has is speed? Sure some of that's friedman but Mustaine has chops, Hammet is a better soloist But you have underated mustaine badly. James is sounding awesome, This is a hard song to sing right.

Kirk hammet is not a better soloist that mustaine and thats all. Both play often pentatonic scales, but Mustaine still better, listen to his solos in Wake up dead, Hangar 18, Holy wars, Lucretia, in my darkest hour... and so on. Mustaine rules, Kirk sucks |m|

Most of the solos in Hangar 18 are by Marty Friedman, as are many of the ones people mistakingly praise him for on any of the albums Friemdan was on - and the ones Mustaine does have in it sound exactly like every other solo he does. He's fast but every solo is damn near the same. Kirk isn't all that inventive either but he does vary things a lot more.

Dave Mustaine is shit. Sorry to say. He has speed, thats it. It doesn't require much to play with speed. Kirk plays solos that are more melodic and actually go in a certain direction, and most of the time have a climax. Daves are just scales. Anyone can play scales.

Don't you hear it? Kirk is gettig to shape again. Yeah, he played this solo different and it is REALLY sloppy at some times. But he probably knows this well. It could be improvised. This band was in totally bad shape for long time, with some exceptions. Here, compare them to "the other band" (but technically only!). They get out of sync, but it's great that they allow this for the benefit of oldschool energy!! They are still practicing it!!! :]
