A movie is usually in a practical filesize (700mb/1,3gb/4,5gb) so that one can easily burn it to a CD. I'd rather download a movie through µTorrent or something, than download it through Limewire though. As for if they're safe to download - most of them are. Moviefiles like .Avi aren't the easiest/most common filetype to hide viruses/trojans in.
I wouldn't worry too much about the police tracking you down. Your might get a warning at first, asking that you'll delete the movie, but rarely anything else. If you're really worried about getting caught, you could make your torrents download through a Proxy or you could download it to a remote FTP-server. Still, this would perhaps slow the downloading down a bit, and I don't really see it as nessecary.
They could hypotethically track you if you were seeding a torrent, but if you weren't seeding or leeching off a torrent, they probably couldn't. Again, I recommend using a Torrent-application rather than Limewire which is a P2P-application. You'll get more reliable speeds and files at torrent sites, better selection and comments and ratings about the torrent you're downloading.

well what i would do, since limewire sometimes can be some LOW quality music, is to download what it says in this video, and also ONLY 5*'s. i got 'theory of a deadman - so happy' from limewire and the quality is so bad i can barely hear the song!

It isn't illegal. You can download lots of free stuff (shareware) from there, but most of the things you'll find there is copyrighted material. Downloading that is an illegal act, but not the program itself.
the software itself is not illegal , the prosses of file sharing is. let say i'm jim, and i bout a song with my money, Then i go to limewire. I put that song in my shared file. Now it is on limewire. Wehn bob wants to put that sonfg on his mp3 player, he dosn't feel like paying for it. He goes to limewire and finds a copy of the song that i payed for. Then he can download it. After he downloads it, it goes into his file share. then there are 2 coppies of it.

limewire is easy to figure out. say you look up a song; "welcome to the jungle" u put it in, then 3 nifty results come out right away. they are welcome to the jungle FREE, welcome to the jungle girl has shaking orgasm, and welcome to the jungle greatest hits... if ur dumb enough to download any of the 3 ur a moron and dont diserve a computer. type in "welcome to the" and let the results finish "jungle" THOSE ARE SAFE. if the result says guns n roses then thats a green light. download that.
All you have to do is bne careful with what you download. When you want to download music, you type the name blah blah. When the resulst come out, almost always theres something like "(name of the song) two guys shoot..." or exactly what you searched for, except the last word in lower case. Example, you typed "I kissed a girl", in the results there is a file called "I kissed a"
I've down load lime wire before and it did good until it started slowing down my computer. So I deleted of of my computer so i reloaded back on my computer know it want let me down load any music at all.
Wouldn't put my money on it. They seem fairly alike, and if you know the 'basic rules', Limewire will work fine. Stick to what you feel safe with to put it quite easily, not that anyone should feel safe on the intarnetz in any case.
First remove all important content from the folder. Then go one directory up, and delete the folder it is in, instead of deleting the file itself. Might work, might not. Give it a try though.

It isn't illegal. You can download lots of free stuff (shareware) from there, but most of the things you'll find there is copyrighted material. Downloading that is an illegal act, but not the program itself.

the software itself is not illegal , the prosses of file sharing is. let say i'm jim, and i bout a song with my money, Then i go to limewire. I put that song in my shared file. Now it is on limewire. Wehn bob wants to put that sonfg on his mp3 player, he dosn't feel like paying for it. He goes to limewire and finds a copy of the song that i payed for. Then he can download it. After he downloads it, it goes into his file share. then there are 2 coppies of it.

in the prosses, the song makers are loosing money becase no one is buying their songs. It is stealing in a way.
the thing with the virus is that limewire has no way to filter viruses. So i f i were a ******ing ***************tard who has fun with giving peole viruses, i can put a virus in my computer, thenput it under a song nam and put in on limewire

I agree. Kaspersky is by far one of the best anti-virusprogram I have come over. Not only is it a antivirus, it also has an anti-hacker, anti-spam, anti... Pretty much everything the word "anti" could be applied to. Good tip.

limewire is easy to figure out. say you look up a song; "welcome to the jungle" u put it in, then 3 nifty results come out right away. they are welcome to the jungle FREE, welcome to the jungle girl has shaking orgasm, and welcome to the jungle greatest hits... if ur dumb enough to download any of the 3 ur a moron and dont diserve a computer. type in "welcome to the" and let the results finish "jungle" THOSE ARE SAFE. if the result says guns n roses then thats a green light. download that.

All you have to do is bne careful with what you download. When you want to download music, you type the name blah blah. When the resulst come out, almost always theres something like "(name of the song) two guys shoot..." or exactly what you searched for, except the last word in lower case. Example, you typed "I kissed a girl", in the results there is a file called "I kissed a"
Its easy.

I've down load lime wire before and it did good until it started slowing down my computer. So I deleted of of my computer so i reloaded back on my computer know it want let me down load any music at all.

Wouldn't put my money on it. They seem fairly alike, and if you know the 'basic rules', Limewire will work fine. Stick to what you feel safe with to put it quite easily, not that anyone should feel safe on the intarnetz in any case.

This have worked sometimes for me;
First remove all important content from the folder. Then go one directory up, and delete the folder it is in, instead of deleting the file itself. Might work, might not. Give it a try though.
