I realize this video was from over 3 years ago, but to all the people claiming to add more soul, that comes with time. Not everyone picks up a guitar and plays like Jimi, or an Eric Clapton or a David Gilmour. My band plays this song, and the thing I love about Jimi's music is there is so much room for interpretation. Unlike SRV, you can stray out of the main idea of the song and it's not wrong because he did the same thing.
