  • I can't wait to see and hear this song in the Netherlands with the Dutch Ariel and Prince Eric! <3

  • Why does it really matter? They both are disney and there is no way you can change the similarity. I find them both entertaining and u bet Alan did too!

    ONE STEP CLOSER IS AMAZING!!!!!!-3

  • I'm so sorry if I'm being inappropriate, but I'd like to sit on prince Eric's face.

  • Sierra! Why are you so adorable?! >< YOU ARE ARIEL!

  • This just proves how much Disney is beginning to rely on formula....this is a crude copy of "Be Our Guest." I'd be appalled.

  • @defygrav12 Les Poissons was written well before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid came out in 1989 while Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991. And if you don't like that there's a similar melody then take it up with Alan Menken. He composed "both" of these films and was apart of creative process for "both" of the Broadway productions as well.

  • @Silver54ful Peh. You write as if I don't know who Alan Menken is....heh. (Also.."both?" Why quotes?)

You can hardly argue that this showy version is like its original film form, which did indeed come first. What I'm arguing is that when Disney amped up their staged "Be Our Guest" to include heavy dance-break extensions, it was fresh but in line with the original intent of the song. These dance-break extensions not only sound almost exactly the same as BatB, but are odd and contrived.

  • @defygrav12 The reason I put emphisis on the word both is because how you stated your last comment. You didn't seem to understand Alan had an enormous hand in the creative proccess for this show. Just as he did for Beauty and the Beast. Alan has stated his love for both of these projects but would never try to copy one just for the sake of it. This is Alan envisioned it for the stage. If you find it strange and poorly executed then you are more then entitled to your opinion.

  • Does anyone else think the Les Poissons reprise sounds eerily similar to Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast?

  • @21MsCoyote I was JUST about to say that :P it sounds like...EXACTLY the same!

  • I love how both top comments are about Eric's ass.

  • the ariel on broadway should have been ariana grande. cuz ariana's short and has red hair and sounds like the little mermaid too plus ariana's a great singer but don't get me wrong. this girl can sing too but... ariana's just so right for it.

  • Is this Sierra??

  • @musicalsterinspe Yup. :) Awesome, isn't she?

  • It's Marcus from Sex and the City. Screw Ariel, i'm in this for Derrick lol

  • Ariel musta lost her appetite at dinner. Poor girl. ;(

  • Squeeee that entire Eric/Ariel dance scene was the cutest thing in the world!! :D

  • eric's trousers are about to EXPLODE!

  • Isn't that the same melody as Be Our Guest?!

  • I absolutely adore this musical!!! never seen it, probably never will. but it's beautiful. <3

  • Actually, Les Poissons came before Be Our Guest. The Little Mermaid was made in '89 and Beauty and the Beast in '91. Just a fun fact. =D

This is one of the cutest numbers I've ever seen! And I've seen alot! I love this song! XD ♥

  • @drumrgrl4him09

totally is. Also, lots of disney movies make references to the other disney movies, so it really could be the same melody.

  • I WANNA DANCE THAT. ;D

  • Why did they have to close this down? This was the best broadway show since the lion king!

  • @JanesseaRoshan The Broadway board feared that they were giving Disney too much in their field. Disney, after all, produced Beauty & The Beast and The Little Mermaid. It would have been too unfair for the other musicals.

  • fail on her first dancing in front of him.... fail

  • Her wig is AMAZING!

  • how romantic

  • I love this dance number! I love them both!!!!!!!!!

  • Boy do I wish men where like this in real life...

  • @MonkiePenguin94 I know, right?! Did you notise how Eric was helping her get away from the sea food? Naaaw! hehe

  • The reprise of Les Poissons was written as an inside joke for the writers and composers. Its, not so subtle, similarities were put in by the original composer of both songs, Alan Menken. You can tell that he has put in his own opinion of the film to stage transfer for both shows into the song.

  • the end of les poissons is like a morbid be our guest. always wanted to see ariels reaction when she finds out whats in the food.

  • man, I wish that happened in real life!

  • oh god, for a split second i thought the maids were suppose to be chickens .___.

  • I love this end of this. Soo cute.

  • This made me cry :( It's so...Awwwww!!

  • I want that hair. Sierra is so talented and absolutely beautiful.

  • I laughed a lot...

  • Like on this one I thought Prince Eric Sean Palmer was Laughing!!! If You play it again it sound like Prince Eric Sean Palmer was laughing, while singing 4:25 see what i mean?? it sound like he was Laughing but he wasn't

But Sean Palmer who Plays Eric see's good.. This should have been in the Movie One step closer knowing this is my favorite song from the little mermaid on Broadway by Prince Eric Sean Palmer

  • So cute! I was lucky enough to see Sierra as Christine in Love Never Dies but I wish I could have seen her in this! She would play the perfect Glinda in Wicked.

  • @TheHannahBanana100 I'm so jealous! was she wonderful?

  • that hair is sooo pretty

  • Eric and Ariel's song is so cute-you can just see that they already love eachother.

  • "sorry old boy but it look like your pipe smoked you" haha that kill I nearly cry I was laughing so hard ( it at 0:02 for those are wondering)

  • i love everything they did with the costumes and all, but i wish her hair was actually RED. like ariel red. c'mon, that's like ariel's trademark...:(

  • @jaella08 sierras hair is red! it is just dark lighting!

  • They should both go on dancing with the stars

  • i didn't know ursula used youtube...

  • Prince Eric's butt looks cute in those pants. Just sayin.

  • @MissCryss31003 agree :P

  • ...I don't remember them dancing like this in the movie

  • @Tactual it is a plot change because the end had to be changed a bit. it has to do with other changes they had to make as well

  • @dramagal19 What do they do at the end? Get Ursula to do a tap dance and hurl calamari rings at the audience?

  • @Tactual Haha. Very funny. Ariel ends up destroying ursula by breaking her magic shell. That's it.

  • I thought it was funny in 1:46 where Chef Louis says "I got you now" and Sebastion pinches Louis' nose so that he can get away.

  • that is just like "Be our Guest" but the same guy wrote the music for beauty and the beast so i don't really mind. lol it's no big deal if he steals from himself.(;

  • that prince has an amazing ass

  • for someone who's never danced before, Ariel picked it up pretty quickly :D

  • for someone who's never dances before, Ariel picked it up pretty quickly :D

  • sierra must be dizzy after all the turn

  • the song she sings in her head sounds like "belle" if u listen to the instrumental

  • Be our guest lol. Does one step closer remind any one of dancing through life?

  • 5:40-6:45 soooooo BEAUTIFUL!!! :)

  • its not even funny how epic the prince is ! :O

  • "BE OUR GUEST, BE OUR GUEST--"

    Oh wait, wrong musical. ;P

  • Sierra is so cute as Ariel!

  • one step closerr to youuuuuuuuuuuuuu:D

  • sierra boggess is just too cute!!

  • they used the instrumental of "be our guest" from beauty and the beast? :D

  • @piminiminimini hey you're right, they use the instrumental of "Be Our Guest".

  • is that drew seeley?

  • the maid's costumes are the best in the whole show, no doubt!

  • nice a--.. ahaha

  • this was so romantic if only real men were like that

  • just gonna take a wild stab in the dark here and say that Ariel is a herbivore

  • we have performed this last night at prom during the intermission and it was so unforgettable. :D

  • this is my favorite part of the show and my favorite song! i'm a dancer so i absolutly love one step closer. speaks to me. lol. and sierra went to my church when she was younger! she brought two of the actors to service one time and it was sooooo cool!

  • @Rinny92DANCE that is so cool i wish i knew sean

  • when ariel put her head on eric's chest that made me smile... <3

  • his voice <3

  • I wish that dancing scene was in the movie. SO beautiful.

  • @christhenerd8 It kinda was but nobody knew. During that part in the movie the music to "My wildest dreams" was playing while they were dancing.

  • This was absolutely adorable!

  • when ariel smiled at 3:07 it reminded me EXACTLY of ariel from the cartoon movie! <3

  • What is with his pants?! And the ponytail....

  • Am I the only one that notices the tune "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast when Les Poisson (reprise)is playing?

  • @jokerobbessed Nope. XD

  • @jokerobbessed Noooo, don't worry, I noticed it too! Well, same composer, I guess...

  • @jokerobbessed

I thought the exact same thing!

  • @jokerobbessed Well Alan Menken did the music for both movies and he helped out with this musical i believe. So I'm not surprised.

  • @jokerobbessed Then again Alan Menken composed both The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast

  • haha i love how they choregraphed the chase scene between the cook and sebastian! :D

  • if i were ariel id take his hand and put it to my face cos they both seem to remember that happening :)

  • One step closer is chorgraphed and sung so beautifuly i think im gonna cry!

  • If they stuck with the Hans Christian Anderson tale, her feet would feel HORRIBLE!

  • one step closer is my favorite scene in the whole musical! i adore Sierra!!!

  • Ariel acts so cute. And Eric has a nice butt.

  • @SirenSima yeah that's a big booty

  • I like sierra a little better with her hair like ariels

  • fail to the one dislike............:P

  • I love the song One Step Closer. Dancing is another language.

  • thos maids frikin rule.

  • it seems a lot like be our guest i think its a joke

  • gotta love the fact that all they did was rearrange be our guest for the Les Poissons reprise

  • @sinful4 Really? Because I was in a production of Beauty and the Beast recently, and that song sounded nothing like Be Our Guest in any way!

  • @dogsarecool01 actually it did kind of sound like be our guest in one small part xD;

  • @hikari2314 so u noticed it too?

  • @JanesseaRoshan yaa, so weird xDD

  • Love Ariels dress and hair

  • One Step Closer is SO adorable!!!!

  • i love u eric!!!

  • Eric is great at acting and singing so is Ariel

  • SIERRA.IS.THE.BEST.ARIEL.EVER!

  • i guess instead of the kitchen freaking out over a rat it's a lobsters lol hahaha

  • Anyone else the dinner song was a remake of Be Our guest? XD

  • @KeikoxKat Well, it IS the same composer for both songs... :)

  • What I don't get really - is the fact that I always thought mermaids ate fish themselves. So even when I was young a lot of the little mermaid made me wonder.

  • That's so cute how prince eric taught her how to dance and her pink dress is so beautiful:)

  • hahaahha lol they got luis worse than in movie... he look funny than in movie...lol

  • to the maids have big butts or is it just me

  • I think this is very cute, it just frustrates me that the chef part is a little bit of a rip off of "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast.

  • i am in love with this dance

    just sayyin

  • haha i though the maids were big turkey's.

  • i like it when sebastain whistles during Les Poissons reprise

  • ROTFL!!! The Chef is the BEST part!!

  • why didnt this do well on broadway its lovely its the best disney play I Have seen scence the lion king.

  • I wonder if anyone else noticed that Prince Eric has a really nice butt...

  • @xXxiPodSingerxXx nice, haha

  • @Sarcasmize Well he does ha ha! =]

  • @xXxiPodSingerxXx haha yes it does stick out....A LOT

  • @McGarvinStudios Lol, It's nice....it's a nice butt, any one else agree? lmao jk

  • I still don't get why Ariel is the only Disney Princess who had a child, not that I don't like the fact that she did, believe me I was so happy to realize they made a Little Mermaid 2 but why did they stop at her? Hm I have SO many questions to ask Disney producers, I'm pretty sure all of us do XDDD

  • The maids look more like poultry xD

  • Was thinking the same thing lol

  • @BeLoudBeProud I think they look like golden apples personally

  • @BeLoudBeProud yea lolol

  • @BeLoudBeProud LOL i know right? are they supposed to be hoop skirts?

  • I assume it's supposed to be an homage to Be Our Guest. Or at least it makes me feel better to think it's that. lol

  • i also noticed the similarity between Les Poissons and Be our guest. But no wonder - they all were composed by Alan Menken. (by the way, if you listen closely to A Whole new world from the Aladdin, there is a moment, when the music theme remids of Beauty and the Beast song)))

  • This would be my favorite scene!

  • I like Ariels bow at the end. It was adorable!

  • writing fail.

this les poissons is basically be our guest.

original les poissons was Gaston. (the song, i mean)

  • the little mermaid came out before beauty and the beast, if anything this reprise was meant to sound like be our guest

  • @elloxpoppet7 Alan Menken wrote both songs.

  • Les poissons reprise sounds a little like "Be Our Guest" at one point.
