how do you upload in HD! Why isn't anyone answering the question? is it that hard to reply? If you have to edit the video and stuff to make it HD, then the instant upload to youtube thing is pointless on the minoHD. i might not even get this just cause of that 1 reason.

I really really REALLY want one of these flip cams, especially the new brushed silver one as a Christmas gift to myself, however, review after review says they will eventually freeze, break, and stop working. 90 day warranty is crap IMO and with no customer support I just have to pass on this device...

I LOVE AND MISS MY FLIP. I am trying to get it repaired, BUT FLIP support is BLOWING ME OFF. I am a huge fan, and been recommending these to everyone I know that travels. But regardless, still being blown off by their support. Loyal customers/advocates, pshhh dont need em. I am more than happy to share the chat logs with any interested, but the short is, I have cracked LCD screen in back and nearly 2/3 of it is black as a result. THEY DON'T CARE & NO OPTIONS to get it repaired. RIDICULOUS!

If I get the MinoHD, is there a certain way that I have to set it or upload it to make the video quality in HD?

And if I have a Mac computer, can I still upload it in HD and if so how?

I Have A Mac and right now i have just a regular flip video.

You Can Get The Watch In Hd OPtion on youtube on anything.

If you use imovie just export it as 720x1080.

if you just uploading from camera to youtube you have to do nothing.

Yes but thing is that the camera wont be true "HD" once in HD. It'll just be in it's highest possible quality.

If you have an editing system that supports HD like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premier then you have to adjust the output settings to make the video size in HD (1920 by 1080)

I don't get it. My Flip Mino HD videos don't look even half as good as this. Why not? I'm just using the flip share to upload it to youtube and it looks like crap compared to this. I would really appreciate some help here. Is there some sort of toggle or option setting I'm missing?

i would (lik i do, u can check some of my vid, only some) go into the thing and check for the folder with 100 video nd click on it and then just drag the video on2 ur desktop nd upload the video the old fashined way

no, any video will get it if you upload it 1280x720 and at least 3mbps

You can edit it, you just need to set the options up in whatever program you're using (Microsoft Movie Maker is probably not the best program to use)

Thanks for recording with the two cameras side by side. That makes it a lot easier to compare... It almost looks the same except for the widescreen, and there is more definition in the sky with HD then with the regular Mino, which shows it as flat & white...

its your computer which couldn't handle the resolution, it happened on my old desktop 3 years old, but was smooth on my new one.

Thanks for replying. There's some letters after "Handycam", I'm sure. There are a lot of Handycams, with the prices going into the thousands of dollars. So it should say something like "DCR" or "HDR" or "SR" on it.

the black bars just mean you can see at a wider angle. if you have a widescreen TV you don't get the bars, but if you play regular videos on a widescreen TV you get either a stretched picture or black bars on the side.

The MinoHD films in 16:9 format. That means it's widescreen.

If you didn't hear the audio in this video, I suggest turning up the volume.

It might seem a bit quiet, if you're filming something that isn't within a few feet from the camera, or loud. There is no port for an external microphone. But it should be good for YouTube videos, which I'm sure Flip knows already.
