What A BEAUTIFUL Schnauzer..... I have an all black mini schnauzer but his chops (hair by his mouth) is always red from licking it; can you tell me how come your dogs hair is all perfectly black on her mouth ? I s there something I can do for my dog to keep his hair black ? Thanks Tina
@xehir Greta eats dried dog food (Purina One), we refresh her water several times a day, and her teeth are cleaned when she is groomed. My understanding of the reddish beard is that the staining is generally due to the pH of the dog's saliva, which is affected by either water, diet, or dirty teeth. Schnauzers usually need teeth cleaned at least twice a year.
Greta is three and half years old... loves to romp... has never taken strolls on the beach but she has enjoyed the Laurel Highlands Trail in southwestern PA. When she isn't active, she is an abnormally large lap dog. When a lap isn't around... she's a couch potato.
