Worth every of that 10$ :D The campaign and fighting the CPU is easy, going online is a bit harder, as the enemy's are real trained people. If anybody hates this game, he or she may be probably foolest person in this world. There is plenty to discover in this game. You practitically rule the world. battles, diplomacy, assassins, espionage, treachery. history, and so many different approaches to play a game. What more do you want? lol. If the creative assembly produces its second version with naval battles visible i would do anything play it.

@ajayade I think that a rome 2 total war might come out in 2013. After shogun 2 total war came out the directors said they have big plans. I suspect that the new tw game that comes out in 2012 was just a expansion pack to shougun 2, but then Sega said we have to relese a new game. Lets make this expansion to a game. That way we satisfy fans and give the people who make tw games time to make the game in 2013 really epic. Hope that game in 2013 wil be either rome 2 tw, empire 2 tw or medival 3 tw

@ajayade If creative assembly makes rome 2 total war I hope 2 it would be naval battles you can play whit anchent naval tactics. Like in empire (whit acient naval tacticks) But they might not cuz one of the reasons they made naval battles in empire was cuz navy and naval tactics evolved a lot and got very important during the renesanse and the 18th century. And ca wanted to simulate that. While in the ancent world the tactic was to destroy enemy ships by crashing into them and then board them

Maybe there shouldn't even be a sequel, this game is still the perfect total war and they will probably fuck up Rome 2 like they did Shogun 2. I'm not expecting a Rome as perfect as the first one.

@ThePHOXman they should make an islamic expansion total war game, it's a very interesting time because there was the eatern roman empire, the barbarian kingdoms of the west, the northern slavs, sassanids, etc and they should make the arabs like a massive horde, but unlike mongols or timurids, this horde should be smart and attack in historical order, or just make them a super powerful faction,

Well, the ONLY this needs to be improved in the first Rome Total war is the AI. It's really a brilliant game, but sometimes my soldiers or the enemy soldiers are so dumb... For example, I have a town watch unit against a Brutii army, but my walls are Epic already. I send the town watches out, they start chasing them, come back in the city and the ballistas simply wipe out the Brutii army without any further movement on their side.

Or when I'm chasing a routing unit... my men are already in their lines, half a meter away from the enemy, my men could easily slay them, but no, no they chase the ones in the first line, and they are literally ignoring the enemies next to them until both units reach end the combat area...

@blackwolfcv There's the Barbarian Invasion expansion, but there are no vikings. There are huns, goths, saxons, celts, franks and others but no vikings.

I got Rome first and then Medieval 2 and I gotta say Rome is still my favorite. Try the demo and see if you like it. The graphics aren't as good as Medieval's, but the gameplay for me was just right.

Its has been hinted that the next total war will NOT be Rome 2. In an interview with one of the CA developers, the guy stated that they will be doing a rome 2 but not at the present time. So we may see it in a few years

Total war deviates from what I and many others call an RTS. Normally in RTS, you build up a force, upgrade units, build structures, create units, in the battle. Here, it deviates from that to make a more realistic approach, as all of the stuff a normal rts would have in battle are now done on the map, where you maintain your empire, you know like in, uh, I dont know, REAL LIFE.

question to all the tech/comp. guys out there, my game installs and plays fine but sometimes during and immediately after battles and randomly on the Campaign map the game exits out and says "a problem has caused the program to stop working" it also does this on Medieval 2 as well, i tried installing them again and same thing. only thing i did was edit the files to play as Macedon and all the basic factions at the beginning of both games. any ideas what could be wrong?

@hellchild65 stop changing the game i might say, just leave it normal and my PC gets weird at times, it's worse, med 2 freezes and blue screen appears saying an nv4 file caused the problem and shutdown to protect computer, the error message you get i get when i play fifa on my PC and like i said, try not changing the files

I also change game settings , or as with who i want to play with.... I had a problem as well, it was the sound.. Just check your sound drivers or the setting they are on.. I see its 2 months ago, so i just hope it helps.. :-)
