Please run for president again Mr. Barr. You have my vote. You're the most intelligent candidate out there. America will have a third party in the oval office!
I believe Barr summed it up well. The Media as I see it has not summed it up so strikingly well because it would probably damage the economy, to see a forecast of future bailouts.
the libertarian party is possibly the only smart, honest party left that still cares about liberty. the government screwed us all over, and we shouldnt have to pay for their mistakes.
Actually, it's the people of dumb-dumb America who voted for that kind of government that fouled you up and now you're going to suffer the consequences of your actions!
It's not justice. I don't deserve part of the money a brain surgeon makes because because i CAN"T DO FUCKING BRAIN SURGERY!!! There are 2 classes in socialism, the poor and the government. I guess i can expect to keep working 2 jobs my whole life, one to make money for me and my family, and one to support the people like you who refuse to go and do for themselves. Bob, i was scared i would have to write you in (Ohio is scary, huh?), but either way, I'm proud to vote for you!
I tell you what were gonna do about it, WERE GOING TO START A FUCKING REVOLUTION, and if your not for noninterventionism, the dissolving of the IRS and the federal income tax, or against limiting the power of our government and our president, than your for them...And you better be ready to fight against us that are going to see through with our plan to takje America Back for the people, The White The Black The Hispanics, If your An American Join the fight or get the fuck out of the way!!!!
Why when it benefits the rich, it is not socialism, but when it benefits the poor it is socialism????
McCain is an angry OLD man that ways are over with. This is not the America of the 20th century that he knows. This is a nation that needs to advance to the 21st century! You can't keep going in circles and wonder why you get nowhere!
I want to vote for him, but I just can't bring myself to a third party candidate. But IMO, if the GOP took his position on issues they'd be leading by 5 points across the board, or more.
Republicans going to revert back to what they claim to stand for? It seems they have to be humbled first. In the name of what the Republican party originally stood for, VOTE LIBERTARIAN!

My guess is that Paul and Barr voted for every deregulation of the financial market. Yet they are taking zero blame ..... it's Fannie Mae, the Demos, etc. Deregulation, and the unfettered market, which got us here, is still gold to these guys, because they are ideologues, impervious to data and thought.
yea dont forget the fed setting lower than market interest rates that's part of the problem abolish fractional reserve banking and let the market decide the interest rates
I voted Libertarian the last election and wish I did the one before. But that's before I knew anything about the Libertarian Party. I'll be voting for Bob Barr this election.

"bad govt policies" = allowing jewish israeli bastards who own and control our federal reserve and almost every fucking bank in the country to rape and fuck us as hard as they can up our collective asses.
no, we need no more BS from any politician. if you support israel, you do not support the US. if you support the federal reserve, you do not support US.
i hope you dont Mr. Barr, but i dont know who you are right now, like most americans. do you support the Fed. Reserve or Israel?
Libertarian U.S. Presidential candidate Bob Barr does not believe that the federal government should be 'bailing out' any quasi-government nor private sector business organization!! Unlike Barack Obama and John McCain, Bob Barr believes that allowing the 'free market system to work' will more firmly solve this current economic problem! He also believes in less government, less taxes and more freedom! With his beliefs and party in The White House, that would be 'real change' for America!!!
"If we allow those folks in Washington to pull the wool over our eyes, to the tune of $1trillion or more, shame on us" What? Since the $700B price tag came out, I have been writing and calling my senators and representative, and urging every one I know to do the same. What else could we have done? I feel so frustrated that it seems like only those with a few hundred mil. in the bank get any voice in the political process today. What can "normal people" do?
Normal people can vote third party and put politics into action by breaking away from dumb and dumber. Supporting third parties, at the very least, shows that you're fed up with old boys club. At best they will represent your real values instead of settling for someone who "kinda comes close, almost".
THANK YOU! That's exactly what I'm saying! I didn't get to vote for this huge bailout! I SHOULD have in a 'free' country, but I didn't. America is not as free in the sense it was years ago. It's just awful. The people need to be in power, not these rich greedy punks!
Your vote for Libertarian Presidential candidate Bob Barr is guaranteed to improve America's future! If he gets at least 5% of the popular vote in this year's election, his party's Presidential candidate in 2012 can receive millions of dollars in voluntary taxpayer funds. He will also automatically qualify to be on state ballots, thereby avoiding long and costly signature petition drives. So do the 'most patriotic good' with your vote, help America build a 3rd major political party!
WHY didn't Bob Barr cite the specifics of the article from 1999 about government being responsible for lowering certain standards regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?
I am voting for Bob Barr. The problem, however, is the Libertarian Party's inability to coherently present arguments- they just present conclusions and assertions. Barr's piece (video) is great EXCEPT he fails to establish the cause of the recent mortgage crisis. He simple refers to a 1999 article that "says so."
Thats a good question, and I wish he had. But, at the same time, I've heard similar stories from other sources, that the government knew this problem was coming and decided to do nothing. And its not like the situation is going to change under McCain or Obama, so while he doesn't cite everything, its still better than voting for another 4 years of Republicratians.
The Dems tempted the banks to loan to bad risks; the Reps ignored abuse and oversight, and many warnings; the banks spent like drunken sailors without discipline of any kind. They made the mistakes. Who pays? We do. We're the patsys. DemRep Presidential candidates both voted for this ... whose side are they on? Not ours! What's the market's motivation not to do it again if we bail them out now?? The LEAST we can do is throw out the incumbents and elect a Libertarian. Vote for Bob Barr.
At best, the bailout will reinflate assets a bit, buying some time before the inevitable collapse. Perhaps it will prevent it until after the election, which is all the CongressCritters who have passed this "no banker left behind" act care about.
Fiat moneys collapse sooner or later. Avoid this by not having fiat money.
Can you cite your source on that Fiat money collapses eventually? I have heard before that fiat money inevitably leads to hyperinflation, and that generally seems where we're headed. However, this was in some gold investment company's PR literature, so not exactly scholarly research IMO.
I'm pullin for ya Bob. I'm ashamed to say that I don't know much about you and didn't even know who you were before you put your hat in the race. Georgia citizen and you got my vote.
Your right the republicans and Dems have had the office far too long and it's time for some common sense in the white house. YOU HAVE MY VOTE!
The only problem with not doing anything is that we could have a major depression. I understand that everyone shares quiet a bit of blame in this. But don't tell me these greedy sons of bitches in Wall Street didn't exploit this because they knew what the hell they were doing. These CEOs knew they had a golden parachute if their companies failed. What this country needs is consistent form of regulation in the housing industry as well as wall street.
Deregulation isn't what got us here, it was the government giving incentives to these companies to take on ultra-risky debt that has resulted in people living in houses they never could afford. They didn't just deregulate (republicans) they incited it (democrats).
If I understand, the government pushed for lower lending standards. This started the problem. People took loans they couldn't pay back. Investors at these banks invested the profits from these mortgages even though they hadn't been realized yet. So when the loans fail, the bank has to take the loss not only on the mortgage, but cover it's debt on the investments that it made based on the profit they were supposed to make if the loan were repayed. Nonexistant money was repeatedly invested.
Thus the banks didn't use good business sense, and they will fail, and the free market will work. The government calls for more regulation, but they should let the bad banks fail and let the good ones grow and if they continue to do business intelligently, they will make money.
Reverse the profiling system to generate all point-of-sales information in real time. Make that information generic and broadcast cast it over the internet or HDTV. That way the burden of the economy is placed on the citizen. The citizens decide what to make, what to sell, and when to work. To leave the market up to corporations that consume people and their nation is treason. This method of broadcasting point-of-sales information is called the Liberty Crown. Let the individual prosper.
I can not stand that the Senate passed it yesterday! It makes me sooooooooooo made that now I am stuck paying for it for the rest of my life. Ugg there goes my 401k plain when I get older!!!!
Thanks for sharing this with me! I used to be a strong Republican supporter up until this point. When President Bush first proposed a bailout plan, I got butterflies in my stomach. I knew something wasn't right. I'm glad we have a smart choice in the Presidential Election this year!
Good Luck Mr. Barr and I will vote for you. But the lack of media coverage and non-inclusion in the debates means that the public will continue to keep the blinders on this election as well.
Bob Barr has taken the lead in the fight for Liberty.
We all must support Bob Barr now to get out the libertarian message and to send a message to Washington that we're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!

Bob Barr
Libertarian for President
2008
This is the year we can make history.
This is the year we can begin to take back America.
Bob Barr is now the national leader of the Fight for Freedom.
If we kill the dollar, it won't matter how much credit you can get. With the amount of stuff that we import, if we keep printing dollars and spending nonexisting money, we're screwed. What do we do when China won't take $1000 for something that used to cost $100?
I thought I was a Democrat up to a mere two or three weeks ago. Then all this bailout stuff happened. I started listening to Ron Paul and then learning about what Austrian Economics was... My whole family and community seem to be for Obama now, and I did get caught up in the hype..and believing every word I was hearing on tv. Now I'm beginning to think and research and seek out my principles as an American, and vote for the first time, being an immigrant. You got my vote Bob Barr! Thank you.
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
I am just a fool who listens to ppl smarter than I am.
I bet most who can understand this want the socialist bailout solution. The rest of the country is too stupid to be the least bit aware of what is going on.
Sonic it is not Bogus, it is real money going after bad money. It is gov't welfare for the rich corporate elite at the expense of the tax payer. Rich have tax loop holes so they don't care.
If you came over to my house and gave me $100,000 to invest it for you, and you came back the next day asking "So hows my money doing?" I tell you "Oh, I lost it all" and you have a nother $100,000, are you going to give it too me so I can invest it agian?
Bob Barr you once again opened my eyes to what the media were telling me differently about the bill, and you are the guy with a plain to save us all. I wish there was a god that would make you president!!!
with respect, I feel you are right about how we got here but wrong about what we need to do. I know for me that its getting harder to find credit to run my shop and if it keeps going like it is I will need to lay off a couple of my guys. We need to prime the pump, get credit flowing and fix the leaks and deal with the things that lead to the leaks and the collapse in the first place. but unless we get things moving thing will go down hill a lot faster. I cant deal with it we need help
masterhook, I express this with great empathy about your situation. But if don't buckle down and deal with this crisis head on.. absent a "bailout" we are going to debase the currency so bad, it won't matter if we can pay our guys or not.. they won't be able to afford to eat. We need to deal with this head on and learn to build real capital. I understand we can't quit credit outright.. but 700 billion was way out of control.
if we just gave bush and his people 700b with not rules, yea your right. but that is not the bill that they are trying to pass. there needs to be more added to the bill to make it a lot better but we need to put out the fire. My guys will be fine if I can get credit to run things but if i let them go they will be a drain to us more. I am already cutting back on the unneeded things but that will only go so far and then I will need to shut down. This is not us for the economy at all.
It's a frustrating time indeed. If we do a bailout, which I'm sure we will then fine, but I hope americans demand that we fix the system that allowed for this happen. If it were me, I would demand that we either reign in the federal reserve under the legislative branch and possibly pay off it's shareholders. It's a corrupt system with very little to no oversight.
Check out the film.."money as debt" here on you tube. It's incredible and good luck with your business.
yes we need to fix the system, we need to go back to the drawing board and get real regulations in place and not just keep adding red tape. This is all stuff that can be done if the right people are in the white house but right now we can get to the drawing board, the house its in is on fire.
It's just another false flag opperation to head the USA towards the North American Union. The dollar is going to fail for they will not protect it as Lyndon Larouche has shown them how it should be protected: watch?v=65-vfc40pcc
watch?v=UE0VaUm51z8
If we don't act now on this plan and put back into effect Franklin D. Roosevelt's plan to build our country the right way, we are going to be doomed in the long run. We must bring this plan to congress while they are wanting us to vote for them.
Please run for president again Mr. Barr. You have my vote. You're the most intelligent candidate out there. America will have a third party in the oval office!

Keynesian model is a failed economic model.. since its implementation, the value of the dollar has decreased more than 20-fold.
Keynesian economics assumes, falsely, that supply and demand principles do not apply to government.
Austrian economics is an actual model that has been proven to be correct, one of the few models that foresaw the recession.
All Keynesian economics has done is given us the Great Depression and this boom-bust cycle economy.

Deregulation isn't what got us here, it was the government giving incentives to these companies to take on ultra-risky debt that has resulted in people living in houses they never could afford. They didn't just deregulate (republicans) they incited it (democrats).
mcbluefire 3 years ago
If I understand, the government pushed for lower lending standards. This started the problem. People took loans they couldn't pay back. Investors at these banks invested the profits from these mortgages even though they hadn't been realized yet. So when the loans fail, the bank has to take the loss not only on the mortgage, but cover it's debt on the investments that it made based on the profit they were supposed to make if the loan were repayed. Nonexistant money was repeatedly invested.
jcliffb1 3 years ago
Thus the banks didn't use good business sense, and they will fail, and the free market will work. The government calls for more regulation, but they should let the bad banks fail and let the good ones grow and if they continue to do business intelligently, they will make money.

Exactly. If Ron Paul had run as the Libertarian candidate, he could have had a real chance of winning. Bob Barr has my vote!

If we kill the dollar, it won't matter how much credit you can get. With the amount of stuff that we import, if we keep printing dollars and spending nonexisting money, we're screwed. What do we do when China won't take $1000 for something that used to cost $100?
jcliffb1 3 years ago 2
Not even Bob Barr can save the USA now.
The ship is going down, jump now or later.
In other words, the bailout is is a temporary lifeboat. (But it's better than drowning)
I chose to delay my drowning.

Obama and McCain are more of the same and what the genius Albert Einstein said holds true today:
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

Thank you.

Bob Barr, you make a good case exposing the corrupt system in Washington.

Albert Einstein once said:
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction."
I am just a fool who listens to ppl smarter than I am.

no corporate welfare!

I bet most who can understand this want the socialist bailout solution. The rest of the country is too stupid to be the least bit aware of what is going on.
StuartGalore 3 years ago
Yes, this bailout is Bogus.
SonictheBedHog 3 years ago 4
Sonic it is not Bogus, it is real money going after bad money. It is gov't welfare for the rich corporate elite at the expense of the tax payer. Rich have tax loop holes so they don't care.
bigdog49094 3 years ago
If you came over to my house and gave me $100,000 to invest it for you, and you came back the next day asking "So hows my money doing?" I tell you "Oh, I lost it all" and you have a nother $100,000, are you going to give it too me so I can invest it agian?
SonictheBedHog 3 years ago 4
The head of the Fed would do it in a heart beat as long it was Gov't money and not his personal money.
bigdog49094 3 years ago 2

Bob Barr you once again opened my eyes to what the media were telling me differently about the bill, and you are the guy with a plain to save us all. I wish there was a god that would make you president!!!
PimpCoop 3 years ago 6
with respect, I feel you are right about how we got here but wrong about what we need to do. I cant deal with it we need help
masterhook 3 years ago
masterhook, I express this with great empathy about your situation. But if don't buckle down and deal with this crisis head on.. absent a "bailout" we are going to debase the currency so bad, it won't matter if we can pay our guys or not.. they won't be able to afford to eat. We need to deal with this head on and learn to build real capital. I understand we can't quit credit outright.. but 700 billion was way out of control.
lestliness 3 years ago
if we just gave bush and his people 700b with not rules, yea your right. but that is not the bill that they are trying to pass. there needs to be more added to the bill to make it a lot better but we need to put out the fire. My guys will be fine if I can get credit to run things but if i let them go they will be a drain to us more. I am already cutting back on the unneeded things but that will only go so far and then I will need to shut down. This is not us for the economy at all.
masterhook 3 years ago
It's a frustrating time indeed. If we do a bailout, which I'm sure we will then fine, but I hope americans demand that we fix the system that allowed for this happen. If it were me, I would demand that we either reign in the federal reserve under the legislative branch and possibly pay off it's shareholders. It's a corrupt system with very little to no oversight.
Check out the film.."money as debt" here on you tube. It's incredible and good luck with your business.
lestliness 3 years ago
yes we need to fix the system, we need to go back to the drawing board and get real regulations in place and not just keep adding red tape. This is all stuff that can be done if the right people are in the white house but right now we can get to the drawing board, the house its in is on fire.
masterhook 3 years ago
It's just another false flag opperation to head the USA towards the North American Union. The dollar is going to fail for they will not protect it as Lyndon Larouche has shown them how it should be protected: watch?v=65-vfc40pcc
watch?v=UE0VaUm51z8
If we don't act now on this plan and put back into effect Franklin D. Roosevelt's plan to build our country the right way, we are going to be doomed in the long run. We must bring this plan to congress while they are wanting us to vote for them.
