It seems to me, that organized crime is a microcosm for world politics. Is it better to have this guy in charge, or that guy in charge? If we whack this guy, will that end up saving lives down the road, and if we don't, what will they do as a result of not being stopped.
I doubt there are any easy answers, and infinite shades of grey.
It generally comes down to ethics vs math, short term thinking vs long term thinking, ends, means, and judgmental hindsight.

What I like about great Americans such as Noam Chomsky is the sense of critical thinking. Most Americans cannot locate Portugal on the world map ,still they follow the media blindly and think that they own the world and they own the truth and that they are all angels and that all others must follow. If you follow them your safe otherwise they will call you barbarian .I love America with educated people who spread love and not wars.

Well, you got Turkey, Bosnia, Albania, Malaysia, Indonesia etc, lots of Muslim countries that are democratic. Many Muslim countries elected women, we do not see this happening in the US yet.

Noam Chomsky is an amazing human being. He's up there with the late Howard Zinn. These men voice(d) their views and opinions, regardless of the consequences. I am thankful for the courage of their convictions and generousity of spirit.
