  • I also believe harvey deserved an oscar for this role.... almost everyone in this film deserved an oscar.....

  • Did anyone else jump at the SMACK

  • Scena stupenda. La stavo cercando in lingua originale da un pò..

    Grandissimi attori, film bellissimo.

  • Crazy woman, she can read music and play a piano better than come along in harmony with that man

  • Harvey is such an amazing actor.

  • The way Harvey Keitel delivers these lines is captivating - pure magic. Such an incredible actor.

  • @wretchedunicron my thoughts exactly

  • THis is what humans would act like if there wr no norms of acting...tottaly outta control!

  • Harvey is one of the best american actors out there who refuses to be a star, he always acts in great movies, usually combining cultural interest, quality etc. He will never get an oscar cause he is not an actor of the masses.

  • I love that this was directed by a woman!

    Awesome movie

  • God.. this man is so, so, so sexy!

  • Outstanding scene - thanks so much for posting. Such raw emotion and feeling. Truly Oscar-worthy performances from both actors.

  • @koalablue80 You're welcome :) I love that people love this ;)

  • if you love this, you MUST watch the video of "Let There Be Light "!!... it's a song by rock noir band BELLADONNA and MICHAEL NYMAN and it's based on this music from "The Piano". Michael Nyman himself plays piano on it... search for "belladonna nyman" here on youtube and you'll find it!! :-)

  • I think it's so beautiful how a couple that in no way can communicate with each other through words, fall for each other...>3

  • Destined to 'the classics' of cinematic scenes....

  • Decided to re-watch this after so many years and its funny how maturity makes you appreciate what you missed when younger. Beautiful scene, beautiful movie.

  • Une de mes parties préférées également. C'est tellement mais tellement juste.

    Ce film est parfait.

  • История о высоких чувствах, это шедевр, сюжет затрагивает тонике нити души и, думается, что такая история знакома каждому, кто любил.

  • I have never seen this movie...after watching this scene of absolutely no words...I think I have missed a great movie.

  • i jus love how agitated she was in this scene, she just portrayed emotions so well i think thats y she won an oscar for this, to deliver such an amazing performance WITHOUT speaking...funny how he asks her to sit and sits himself...shows how much of a ruffian he is but that was his charm and makes him fit the part so well

  • i LOVE THE SLAPPING SCENE- SO PASSIONATE- SO EMOTIONAL AND RAW- ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES HE EVER DID~THANKS- lc

  • I'm so glad to find this clip. Such a sexy, hot, and moving scene. One of my favorite scenes.

  • This is my favorite part as well! :) Thank you for posting it. A true classic of a film.

  • This is my favourite scene of the movie :)

He just shows his love.. and she doesn't want to go but he doesn't understand.. she slaps him.. then he understand.. then it's just so romantic =)

  • No offense but I found this movie rather creepy... I didn't like how he exploited her love for her piano and made her a prostitute slowly and gradually :S

  • @hilaryrules91

    I kind of agree :/

  • @hilaryrules91 I can agree with that, if he wasn't such a prick about it then the whole thing could have been sweet, but yeah he was arsey.

  • Lol, title was kinda misleading, I mean who would wanna slap a piano?

  • lol

  • i love this movie, love this scene, however come on. if you said this to any body you secretly love, they would totally laugh at you

  • @danny1984able : they would laugh if they are a moron...too bad people nowadays lack the communication skills in order to be this 'truthful and STRAIGHTFORWARD!'

  • @danny1984able Actually, Id be very flattered if a man talked to me this way. Straight and honest.

  • For whoever asked, the actress that played Ada did played all of the music herself. She's a pianist and an actress.

  • to zeforah: why can't i favorite this video?? I've tried on several occasions and it just doesn't get into my favorite's list...I love this movie and this is a 'one of a kind' scene...perfection!

  • Really? I wish I knew.. :/

  • @emma473 mostly you have it fav in the past so you cant do it twice..recheck your favs and delete it and refav it if you want it close:)

  • I`m going to sit...........this scene is beyond beauty indeed. Thank you so much for posting it.

  • The Piano by Michael Nyman. Holly Hunter played the piano solos in the film.

  • Can you upload what music she played in the movie?? Beethovan? Mozart ?????? What was it??? Did she play it herself really or she just pretended to play in the movie??

  • Undercurrent of pure sexuality throughout!

  • GREAT SONGS!!! in this movie!! love the soundtrack......he got PWNED!!!!!!!

  • great movie

  • Yes it is...

  • This is the best scene!! I have to say that every time I see this, I always laugh at his face when she first slaps him....he totally didn't see it coming lol

  • makes you wonder if it was improvised. LOL

  • Best screen kiss from the very talented actor, Harvey Keitel!

  • Must be nice to get awards for not speaking at all.

  • It takes a talented actor to communicate emotion without words. Successfully executing dialogue alone is not -and SHOULD not- be the only thing critics look at.

  • SO DISAPPOINTED that harvey wasn't nominated for an oscar. should've won it for that speech.

"i want you, my mind is seized on you, can't think of nothing else, this is why i suffer. i am sick with longing. i don't eat, i don't sleep. so, if you've come with no feeling for me, then go."

    UGH such honesty and passion.

  • thats why the award dont really mean anything. Because sometimes they give them to the right people, and sometimes they dont. And also sometimes its impossible to say which performance is "best". Its art, you cant measure it. (:

  • You are right that Harvey should have got nominated for an Oscar. He had great chemistry with Holly Hunter. The movie wouldn't have been the same if he wasn't in it.

  • @licatoa5047 It's exactly what "that one woman" in our lives does to us. Timeless.

    Dean

  • @licatoa5047

Yes, I agree. Maybe he took the wrong "way" to seduce her, but he loves her really much and he wins her heart with his honestly, as you said :)

  • good scene from a great movie:) do you know if anyone has the whole movie on youtube?

  • watch?v=SelqQXDZ7K4

  • i love when the bit when the music comes in.

  • Oh yeah ^_~

  • The best part of the movie. My favorite too. Thanks for posting.

  • Definitely one of the best scenes. The intensity of his words, the passion on his face...Oh God...

  • I know!! I love love this scene! I love the way she reacts too, cause he just doesn't get it ^_~

  • whew, she did it. I thought he was, touch girl ^_^
