Forget any long, overcomplicated "What is Touhou?" videos, that's what it all boils down to. Oh, and the fact that it has a much too huge and insane following, which is part of why this fangame exists.

Sunflower Field did not originate in PoFV. It originated in Touhou 4, which is the first game Yuka appeared in.

After looking into it a little more, it seems like it does not appear in any game, and it is only mentioned in Perfect Memento. By the way, it is called the "Garden of the Sun," not "Sunflower Field."

This English version is unlikely to be released. It certainly won't be released now, though, as videos are being uploaded as I add my translations to the game. I'll think more about it as I get closer to finishing.

My translation is unofficial, since I have nothing to do with the Japanese version of Touhou Mother. But there will probably never be an "official" translation because S is unlikely to officially support one.

Speaking of which, most of the Japanese videos go past 11 minutes, so while I'll keep the numbers intact, most of these may have to be split into parts. However, S doesn't cut out repeated battles, and some videos have far too much of that*, so that might help.

* One video is called "Lots of Walking" and is 25 minutes of walking almost all the way from one end of the map to the other. Sometimes I question S's game design.

When/if the battle system gets translated, having clips of "interesting" segments of battles (special attacks) might be another good compromise, and/or sped-up segments of boring stuff.

Likewise, a separate video of player PSI/attack animations might be good.

Yeah, I was considering sped-up parts for when it's just not worth splitting. The video I mentioned will probably have the majority of it cut out once the walking begins, but that's a long way off.

Also, good news: the battle system is now sufficiently translated for the next boss battle, and then some. The dialogue before it is added, too. If things go well, the second video should be up tomorrow.
