However, the specific law they are discussing allows police to detain people only on suspicion of being illegal immigrants, which translates to putting American citizens away without searching for evidence for two day just because they look like illegals. Imagine being detained for two days without having to search for evidence. That's how its a problem law.

It is true that most everyone has an immigrant as an ancestor in the US. However, it is also true that a majority of those people presented themselves at a border, port etc. and were processesed into the US through the legal means of the time. This is no longer the case. Our border is a huge hole and there is no registration or anticipation of being an active citizen of the US. Bring the troops from Korea, they have protected that border for 60 years successfully.

However, the specific law they are discussing allows police to detain people only on suspicion of being illegal immigrants, which translates to putting American citizens away without searching for evidence for two day just because they look like illegals. Imagine being detained for two days without having to search for evidence. That's how its a problem law.

My ancestors came as immigrants they were processed through Ellis Island and took all the proper paths to a LEGAL US citizenship. All those who were here when the Constitution was signed became legal citizens of the US. Countries change, governments change. Just because Native Americans were here 400 years ago does not mean they are the "true owners" of this land, and it doesn't mean the US people are here illegally.

In this economy, anyone who needs to provide for their family would work in the fields. Instead, you have farm owners hiring illegals for cheap wages. Same with carpentry. Illegal immigration ruins the economy. America is the most tolerant society in the world. Way to be judgmental saying that all white people are evil and racist.

@Wiifan4life well hey if you study U.S.history it even states that "Europeans saw themselves superior to anyone who was NonEuropean". iam quite educated and i am not an idiot.. and race is a big issue. because at the first of USA history, it was a white vs black issue. and the whites put alot of restrictions/laws/and blockage on the blacks, so they couldnt own land or do the things that white people could do. the way America is acting about illegal immigration. its mainly the southern mentality

@Wiifan4life the north was always more industrialized and developed and they didnt mind the blacks or different races. like i sayed illegal immigration today in the 21st century, its not about America. its basically southern america and the midwest that are crying about illegal immigration. people in more developed places like california or NY. they dont care about illegal immigration and they dont consider it a big issue. because them states are more openminded and educated.

@mukaikof Welcome to 2011. Segregation no longer exists, discrimination is no longer legal, and where everyone has equal opportunity. Did you know that now if a work place were to discrimanate that they would be prosecuted by the federal government? Why do you continue to think it's a race issue? This isn't the 1860s or 1960s, it's the 2000s get with the times. You're whining about something that just doesn't happen in the modern world.

@mukaikof Oh, and I'm from California. I know many, many others that feel the same about me. Do you know the unemploymetn here? Do you know how much we'd benefit if farm owners didn't hire illegal immigrants? Everyone is desperate for money. At this time, they will do any job for money. The reason why border states complain about it most is because ITS THEIR PROBLEM! Arizona, California, New Mexico, Texas. These are the states that are affected most. Please, USE YOUR HEAD.
