  • Very impressive .

  • Why doesn't he just hit it into square blocks, and then he can make planks and a crafting table.

  • @fringeelements He could totally have all the stone tools he needed in like 20 seconds.

  • Everyone seems to overlook the fact that he did not cut down the WHOLE entire tree, the tree is still alive! Even with modern technology no body with a chain saw does that!!! The most environmentally friendly tree cutting technology ! ............. That takes lots of work especially with wood that hard and precision, early American settler's also made bowls dug out of a planks or wooden spoons in such a way.

  • 50,000 years...

And they've got to the technological level of hitting a tree with a rock to make a piece of wood to carry things on...

  • cool haires

  • Hey Colin thanks 4 posting this. I love these old grainy ethnological films! I'd like to know where/how one gets a copy of this DVD. I noticed in the beginning it says "part 14"...is there more footage and where could I find it? AIATSIS only offers a 20 minute DvD. Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • How does he keep his toenails trimmed?

  • @BumbleBeeBurton walking barefoot

  • The distribution of this film containing images of Indigenous peoples has been done illegally and unethically, breaching the rights of the filmmaker as well as the Indigenous peoples appearing in the video.

  • ancient identity, culture, and knowledge has been stolen from a free people who's laws where those of nature... australia was not a scientific colony... it was to serve the organized rich as a human dumping ground for those who broke the laws of the organized rich... you live under the laws of the rich.... not the free... you see if you're better than others... why can't you prove it to yourself... not others

  • @rastawoookie

And you think Abos are free?

Freedom is in the mind... It is the liberation of the mind...

These simple creatures don't possess a developed enough mind to be free...

But I do... And I am free...

    : - )

  • @Hammersley1967 Do you think if you were in their place since your childhood, without any exterior contact, would you do bring really new technologies? You would be really much better than the other ones?

    (srry for my english...)

  • isn't it disgusting that we humans can tell immediately when a non human is commenting

  • aborigines are actually genetically closer to caucasians than blacks.

  • This is wonderful. Where are more similar films?

The Aboriginal people were perfect for Australia.

They have respect for the country. :)

  • @lemorpion1

Obviously he hasn't been taught that nudity is neccesarily sexual.

  • @BenFenrirson get your facts right mate

  • WOW this is an old gem, I watched this in Jr. high School. It made a lasting impression on me.. Cant believe it's here on You tube.. The Aboritgines are a beautiful and very facinating people. Thanks for posting this..

  • Beats going to Kmart

  • I just couldn't watch the whole thing, is a Wira a rock that you bash down trees with?

  • chakanagalaganaga NOONGAARR

  • @TheJomogogo you didnt invent the wheel, so why use it to spin your shit?

  • People conquer other people and take their shit. That's how it works with our species. It's like some of you have never been to this planet before.

  • Have some respect you people. We are talking about people who inhabited Australian for more than fifty thousand years before white people. They have suffered so much. Another beautiful people butchered in the name of progress, capitalism and Christianity to name just a few.

  • @veluhi

I'd say a lot of tribal people were slaughtered in the name of expansion over that 50,000 years, by other tribals.

What you see here are the people that killed the ones who came before them, who left without a whimper.

  • @veluhi

    LOL @ "beautiful people".

  • true, these people have been totally disrespected

  • whose talking to you shit for brains ... everything coming from you is pure stinking bullshit

    you simple chav bitch

  • I found a stone axe (abt 4000 years old) in the ground when I was a kid. Now I see why the previous owner threw it away. ;)

But then, if the shovel the guy in the video makes lasts for years, it doesn't matter if it takes a couple of days to craft it.

  • where can i watch more of these films? is there any more like these?

  • When is this filmed? In the early 20th century?

  • 1969. It says it at the beginning of the film.

  • none of us is where we started. Not one of us. aboringals, 1st nations, white black whatever.

There is an ongoing DNA study that has confirmed that a thousand times over. If u must have a cause look toward people who r living on the streets of your city and get outraged over that, and do something for them.

  • I have a tremendous amount of respect for this part of aboriginal culture. I come from a part of Australia that has alot of aboriginals so im very fortunate to learn about this at school. However i think its harsh to say that white people today arnt true australians. Honestly by saying that your are becoming the enemy. The whites said the same thing about aboriginals at the time, so its no better. But its over and done with now, it took place in a different generation. Let there be peace!

australian are not Australian JUSTICE FOR THE ABORIGINALS

    AUSTRLIAN ARE NOT AUSTRALIAN

    JUSTICE FOR ABORIGINALS !!

    NO COLONIALISM !!!

  • 60 000 years.

    8000 generations at least.

Enough said, 'get over it and adapt' doesn't cut it.

  • One step forward, two steps back.

  • It's a bit hard to adapt to freedom after many years of oppression. At this stage, in my community anyhow, it DOES seem like one step forward, two steps back, but I know that there is also blatant anti-black racism here as well. It's a vicious cycle; those who want to break away from their families bad habits and get a job etc are shunned for 'trying to be white', and the white community shuns them too by not employing them based on stereotypes etc. With this conditions, what else CAN you expect

  • People who never invented the wheel or a written language will never assimilate with people who went to the moon.

  • Language, wheels or going to the moon are all part of culture, and cultural divides doesn't change the fact that both are human beings. Assimilation into other cultures shouldn't be, and isn't racially based. Many aborigines resent and very much dislike whtie people. Many white people resent and very much dislike aboriginal people. THAT is the divide, not the differences in technological 'achievement'.

  • You forgot to mention IQ as the greatest divide. People with moron level IQ's don't get along well with those more advanced, because their behaviour is primitive.

  • I didn't forget to mention it, I didn't say that because it's elitist, condescending, bigoted, and above all, TOTALLY wrong. People with high IQ's can get on perfectly well with those who have low IQ. Often they don't, due to social conditioning which teaches them to either be elitist and disregard anyone's opinion who they percieve as being 'less advanced', or to not like or trust anyone more intelligent than them, usually because they don't like or appreciate condescending dickheads.

  • On an individual level intelligent people can get along with those less gifted but put a million morons in a city (like Detroit) and see what happens. Or put them in charge of a country like Zimbabwe and watch them destroy everything built by whites. You fail. Obviously don't have a lot of experience with nigs do you?

  • You live in Tanzania so I'm going to assume you're not Australian; what authority have you got to lump aborigines with whatever problems African countries have? Intelligence isn't racially based, and intelligence isn't 'city based'. Detroit has got people with high IQ, and it has people with low IQ. Social exlusion and dog-eat-dog mentality that encourages people to view everyone as exploitable objects and not human beings is the source of violent crime, not race or IQ.

  • The racial composition of any given area is a better predictor of violent crime than poverty.

  • @TheJomogogo

There are very intelligent black people and there are dumb as fuck white people. What's your point? Every race has its stupid people. Invention is not a measure of a race's IQ, but of its need and desire to invent. Aborigines never needed to invent more powerful tools because their lifestyle was so easy.

  • @Ilikemustard

Not even the wheel? Wow they must have had it very easy.

  • @Ilikemustard your exactly rite but no matter what our statuses in life are how dignity is the same and ones integrity is not worth that of another.

  • @TheJomogogo

Are you trying ot say that whites can't be morons?

  • @TheJomogogo

I can get along with everybody, with those equally intelligent as me, those with less intelligence and those who are more intelligent. I just like GOOD people. What I hate however are people who brag about their IQ, who are condenscending about others, act immaturely and yet think they're better than someone else.

  • They can assimilate, however you don't want them to assimilate.

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside

    Assimilation is cultural genocide.

  • who is this you are speaking of?

  • @TheJomogogo

What have you invented, man? Have you been to the moon? What exactly have you done that makes you so much better than these people?

  • @AsylumSeaker LOL check this dude out hes supposeablly aboriginal an Inventor from the 19th century....Hes also a full blood

  • @AsylumSeaker David Unaipon Aboriginally physisist, mathematical genious and inventor born 1872

  • @TheJomogogo

And what about YOUR invention !!

  • worse than Nazis? Christ if anyone truly believes that I would love to know when it is the Nazis more or less made the Jewish people burdens of the state. The Australian government pays quite a substantial amount of money for the Aboriginal people to support themselves. I hardly see much of a holocaust there...

  • We are all brothers and sisters, hands connected to the same body sometimes wrestling with each other, sometimes making love.

    Peace and Light,

  • I love your words!!!

Listen, someone told me that all Spanish ppl and Mexican ppl are considered Aboriginal? I never heard this before..

  • Hey "DodiGurl" who told you that? That is an idiotic statement.

  • Whires in Australia are considered worst than the Nazis.

  • you fuck jins.......

  • God Bless Aboriginals... Australia should only belong to you

The whites in Australia are aliens and should be deported back to Britain...

  • woah rascist.

  • God bless? you are a bit racist i don;t think god will be happy with you.

  • thats cool!

  • where is the metho AND FLAGGON !!! I NEED GOON ILL FUCKING SPEAR YA i need a vb

  • GREAT FOOTAGE,TRAGIC condition of a fello human in the 20th century SHAME on the powers to be during a time of plenty.

  • They were supposedly here for 40,000 years. You would think that they would have developed a bit beyond stone tools. Great informative video though.

  • what guns and weapons of mass destruction?

  • Whatever floats your boat I guess... They killed each other with spears and used to spear each other as punishment so don't act like they were some kind of stone age utopia.

  • Many could consider that remark as racist! I am a little offended myself! See the thing about my people is..whether u believe it or not..IS that we are very spiritual people and we looked after the land...everything we did-we knew there were to be consequeneces and so we only used materials that were able to reproduce and that did not affect future generations! If u like i an answer any other questions or that one again if u didn't understand it just ask!! Id be happy to :) Yours sincerely

    Joey

  • Indigenous people ftw!

  • @trentspencerktm I know it's an old comment, but still - I don't think so, there's really no reason to expect any real development, when it isn't necessary. Remember, humanity did not change in any significant way anywhere for about 200,000 years, only within the last 10,000 years did the real changes occur...

  • Cool. I had no knowledge of how such things were made. Good to see how others have done things traditionally.

  • Good and informative...the finnish product looks like a pringle...

  • great videos, makes me want to go out and make one but dont have the trees or termites like over there

  • Great video. Thanks for posting this. I'd love to see the other 13 now!!!
