  • you are pretty

  • Yay I'm so excited I've watched your videos for a while now but only now saw these and that your vegetarian I love it =) I became a vegetarian late last year. I would love to call myself vegan but I occasionally eat things containing dairy when I go out for dinner or to family and friends for dinner. Any way thanks for putting yourself out there!

  • When I tell people I'm a vegetarian they immediately get offended.

  • Love your video!!!

You inspire me to become a vegetarian again!!!

LOVE YOU ACCENT HURRAY FOR BEING AUSTRALIAN!!!

  • Hurray for being inspired by Onision! He was a huge inspiration to me and my decision to become a vegetarian. I agree with you 100%. Nicely said my dear.

  • i feel like you say you don't judge people who eat meat, but basically you said if they judge you they are wrong...

i don't feel you quite grasp that people do have their own opinions, and their opinions aren't wrong.

  • youre the hottest vegetarian ive seen

  • I have the same problem you had.

When people start making comments about how being a vegetarian is wrong, i just go crazy.

I should try and learn from you, take it more camly and be open to educate.

Great video, btw you're really pretty. (:

  • Just to let you know you can't consider yourself somewhat vegan; either you're vegan or you're not. You sometimes eat dairy products so that would make you a vegetarian.

  • Onision is crazy, fascist, a douche, and overzealous. He brainwashes stupid young kids and he packages his ideas as intellectual but he's just hating others. But I commend you for being British and extremely attractive (though neither of these were your own doing) and for presenting your ideas in a non-judgmental manner. Even if I think meat is awesome I can't despise you for just saying what you believe without putting down others.

  • @GeneralThieu haha I think it's funny that I get told I sound british. I'm actually Australian - but I'll take it as a compliment.

Look I respect Onision for being outspoken and sharing his views, but I find the way I talk about vegetarianism with people is just how I see it and by bashing people it doesn't get you anywhere.

It's about education and people making up their own minds.

    Thanks for your input.

    :)

  • @amysass7 - dang it you are an aussie. You say "day" differently than brits. Actually you pronounce a lot of words differently. Us Americans aren't so good at telling the differences off hand.

  • @amysass7

People really mistake you as a Briton? The tone of your voice goes up at the end of declarative sentences and there is nothing more Aussie than that. If you were to say "Seeven" (Seven) I'd have taken you for a Kiwi.

Seriously though, do you really face any sort significant discrimination based on your vegetarianism? It seems a bit of a stretch. A few snide remarks, yeah, but aggressive remarks seem unlikely - though it is Australia (no offence intended). Is J.G. Thirlwell a veg?

  • @GeneralThieu What a dumbass..one for not even knowing the differance between somone from Aus and somone from the UK...you obviously ignorant to the rest of the world. I think anyone who thinks eating meet for what ever reason is good is a fucking prick..sorry for the language. You're just jealous because Onision is way smarter than what you'll ever be and you can't think up a smart reason to say eating meet is good, so you just givde him personal attacks.....piss off.

  • @IIproductionsII - As for you calling me a dumbass, well let us examine who is the real smart one here. You spelled difference as "differAnce". You typed someone as somone (you forgot the E) and you did that twice so I'm pretty sure that wasn't a typo. Lastly, you misspelled meat with "meet" and you did that twice so that wasn't a typo either. You did say "givde" but that was a simple typo, obviously.

  • @GeneralThieu So somones IQ is based on their English skills? English is my second language so lay off you prick...that has nothing to do with you being a stupid ignorant idiot.

  • @GeneralThieu - You're a funny one. I'm sorry I haven't come into contact with enough British or Australian folks for your taste. Her accent sounded british to me and it was an honest mistake. But I don't think that means that I'm ignorant to the rest of the world, sorry again. And I don't need any other reason to eat meat other than I enjoy it. The reason Onision is a complete nut is because he believes somehow that makes me a murderer. Murder is a term used only in the killing of humans.

  • Now this opens up a landmine of issues...hehe...I do love meat.I do think the resources of the planet are man's to use wisely.I do endorse tolerance for unborn children however. However if you choose not to eat meat, that's cool...My nephew is a vegetarian.

  • it's good that theres people defending cows and pigs and chickens ect. but eating meat is not wrong nor is being a vegetarian...

oh, and i love sea food; its my favorite kind of food.

  • Thanks the catch and animal and eat it has really made it more simpler for me to explain why to others, :)

  • Amy, thank you so much for making this video.. it was so timely for me. I've been thinking a lot lately about becoming a vegetarian. How did you go about it in the beginning? Did you go cold turkey or was it a process. One of the things I fear is that I will eat more unhealthy because of the lack something that's always been in my diet.

  • I'm not going to lie it's taken me a few good years to learn to how to eat properly - all thanks to a program I'm on at the moment called the healthy skin diet I have more video's on my chanell about that.

But honestly I just stopped eating meat one day and I because I used to eat so little of it - it really didn't feel like a huge change for me.

But just try and not fall into the trap of carb heavy pastas and low nutrional value foods.

Keep everything very fresh and less processed :)

  • I can't not eat meat.

I don't care if people are vegetarian. But there are a lot of vegetarians who are like "YOU EAT MEAT? HOW COULD YOU EAT MEAT"

There should be no backlash against being vegetarian, but there shouldn't be criticism against people who eat meat either.

It is personal choice, I choose to eat meat but if someone tells me I shouldn't, I'm not gunna keep quiet about it

  • @lilmzann well you have to understand why people attack you on it. people are not trying to be mean, and they are not doing it to make your life worse, but many people who are vegetarians (like myself) do it for moral reasons, and at how easy it really is it does make me mad when people still eat meat. I will not be the person to just start something about it but if someone says anything about it to me or mocks me for not being a murderer then i will speak up, so maybe you do something?

  • Definitely. While you find something morally wrong, I don't.

I appreciate all the people who are vegetarians and I really commend them for being so, but I personally couldn't give up meat. I don't think it's right how people get the meat, by way of mass killings, but I still eat it. Kind of hypocritical but I still won't put up with people telling me to do something that I'm clearly not willing to do. Like give up meat

  • Veg riblets, quorn nuggets (chicken nug alternative), going out to eat is not as hard as it once was thanks in part to so many veg friendly options. If unsure about a restaurant I will look up the menu ahead of time/or call---that way I don't draw more attention to myself by asking too many questions of the waiter (and quite a few times they really don't know if there is a beef broth or chick broth in something...)The peta website has a section to finding out veg friendly fast food options too!

  • I'm 26 and I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian since I was 10 years old. I don't come out and tell people, too many questions--questions that would result in an undesired debate/arguments with people. I do not criticize others or judge what they eat. I agree that it took years to find the right balance, I initially was not getting enough protein/iron---too many carbs. With so many great alternative products, there are veg riblets, meatloaf recipes, sooo many---it is now second nature. .

  • Very Pretty Eyes O_o

  • My boyfriend and I don't eat pork anymore, he saw a really nasty video that was really disturbing. I love the idea of being a vegetarian, but I don't know what I would eat to get massive amounts of protien that my body neeeds. It would be great if you educated us on the foods of which you get your protien from. I am always hungry. I still eat fruits and vegies, but meat is what really fills me up combined with everything else.

  • And we WERE meant to eat meat RAW but millions of years ago our annestors began to cook the meat and it changed our digestive systems, but basically we are no longer that equipt to eat meat because to get the full benefits of meat we would have to eat it raw but now we are no longer able to do that and meat is almost uneccassary

  • oh that's interesting thankyou for sharing :)

  • Vegetarians usually live an average of 10 years older than people who eat meat :] if you do it correctly of course

  • Vegetarian for five years too! I know EXACTLY what you're saying.

  • I've tried, can't do it. I can't stay away from meat & dairy. Though I am VERY picky about where I get my groceries from. Eggs have got to be free range, I get all my dairy products from Straus Family Creamery, and all my meat products from Organic Valley.

  • that's great I think even the little steps help and trying to purchase with some thought - good work :)

  • Ohhh Ive thought about this topic so many times- I wanted to become one but this video was very pursuasive and educating....maybe i'll see a change ;D

  • I am a pretty picky eater, and I have the desire to become a vegetarian, but I'm not sure where to start. I would definitely love to hear about what you eat, and discover different recipes.

  • Sure I will get onto it - I'd probably say I could do one in the next couple of weeks!

    I'll link you when it's up :)

  • mmm i love meat wayyyyyy too much to give it up :P <3 but i respect your decision to be a vegetarian.

  • I'm a vegetarian have been on

and off for several years, when

I did it was only white meat. Now

    90% Raw Vegetarian since MAY

2008.And I'll deff never go back to

eating meat now. What are you wearing

    on you're nails??Cute!!!~ love them!

  • I'm actually wearing OPI's Dating a Royal which is a deep royal blue colour and I've topped it with purple cosmetic grade glitter - I might do a tut on this it's super easy and soo sparkly = love!

  • i'm a celiac (allergic to gluten) and a pre diabetic, so i can't really be a vegetarian or vegan but the video was nice, because your opinion was nice and clear :)

  • yay vegetarians!! i started when i was in 7th grade :)

  • what kind of foods do you eat?

on a side note...i have nothing against vegetarianism whatsoever because i have thought about it myself. But however I do also believe that God gave us certain animals as food...but like you said I couldnt go out and get the animal for myself....it would be hard for me to be vegetarian because im not used to that lifestyle but I am curious as to what you eat on a daily basis and how you get the nutritian you need in a day.

  • Hi There,

Looks like popular demand wants me to explain my diet further which I will - I'm going to do a overall diet/cooking video in the next couple of weeks.

I will link you when it's up - believe me it took me a couple of years to learn how to eat properly being a vegetarian :)

  • great video btw amy. it made me think about a lot :)

  • im not a vegetarian myself but i completely respect if u r a vegan/vegetarian and i think its disgusting how u can be ritaculled just on ur choice of wat u eat. its ur body and ur mind ppl have no say in wat u so and i am completely againt it. i believe its a way of rasisim and i think its sad ppl do that 2 other ppl. you shouldnt be judged by wat u put in ur mouth. Its wrong!

  • Instead of meat,do you take any vitamin tablets? You look healthy.

  • I don't take any suppliments to replace iron or protien - but I do consume fish oil tablets to get my omega 3 - as I also do not consume seafood.

I try and get my protien and iron from foods - which I plan to do a video on in the next couple of weeks :)

  • @amysass7 umm but wouldnt fish oil tablets be fish? so whats the difference in not just eating the fish?

  • good point I'm actually going to look into the below's comment on sea algae omega 3 supplements!

I just cannot stand the smell of seafood it's yuck to me anyway haha. each to their own I guess.

  • @amysass7 Hah, I agree oh too well, seafood always made me ill, just something so blahh about it all, bad taste. and the smell is the worst haha very true, so if they have seaweed omega three supplements then YAY =)

  • yeah i will look into that hey - sounds awesome.

I'd like to live life as cruelty free as possible. although you can never be perfect - every choice you make it all helps in a sense :)

  • me too, i wanna check it out!

I totally agree with you, you cant be perfect but it can all help, and I try and do what I can, working toward being vegan, I am really glad your working toward a more cruelty free life, it just makes me so happy everytime I hear of someone else doing it.

  • You can get "fish oil" tablets where the omega 3 is obtained from sea algae instead.

  • thankyou thankyou thankyou for this information - can I ask what brand you would reccomend?

  • Your welcome Amy. As for a brand I am not to sure, I study nutrition but alot of the time I dont practice what I preach hehe. Best bet is to visit a health store!

  • When you were 15 how did you get around eating meat? Didn't your parents make dinner for you including meat?

  • My parents were quite accomidating and would try and help with dinners etc but now I do all my own cooking.

No one else in my family is vegetarian so it was just a complete personal lifestyle choice :)
