@rowdy165 It's called a chassis, come back when you know your vehicle components 101. And no, that's not a bent CHASSIS and a lot more... FJ's are the top dog 4x4 right now, the FJ was designed for Baja style driving (it's competed in a bunch of Baja events and won), that means lots of jumps. I have 15" of travel on my Fox racing suspension and I take much bigger jumps all day long with no problems.

Watch Top Gear's "How to Kill a Toyota" and you'll see that they can take punishment.

@verasforzza That was a basically stock FJ. Sorry but it was NOT designed to even come close to doing this jump. Also it was NOT designed particularly to do any Baja style driving. It just worked out that way. You may have 15" travel on whatever rig you have but the FJ doesn't. No comparision. BTW, I guarantee this guys motor mounts are cracked. I own an FJC just so you know.:)

Did anyone not notice that the Hummer's entry speed was a whole lot slower then the FJ's? The guy didn't want to screw up his truck. I wouldn't jump it either.

As far as ground clearance, both are at 9.*+ stock, so that's pretty similar. The H3's only about 300 pounds heavier then an FJ cruiser..Both are in excess of 4,000 pounds..

On the trail the H3 will take the FJ any day. Not trying to start a fight, but stock to stock the Hummer wins, at least off-road.

Plus. ... and lets be honest, the build quality of the FJ is better than the H2/H3. (Maybe this will change now Hummer has been sold to the Chinese).

I'll be honest, I'm a Jeep guy! Jeep blows the doors off both of them simon!

On a rocky trail I would take the H3 any day. It is heavier, so I guess FJ would be better on sand, but other than that the FJ is bulbous and ugly, like many of Toyota's products. I like hard line and stances, something Toyota never does on SUVs.

Parts are expensive for FJ in the U.S.

I'm simply not a fan of Toyota.

While their build-quality is still high it is diminishing as they grow, GM understands.

Toyota makes ugly cars (the Lexus and Toyota brands looks exactly the same too!), and the main reason that they lead involves production and worker benefits/salaries, not necessarily actual fit and finish of cars.

Their quality remains high, but ONLY because Lexus exists. As they grow their quality has diminished in a steady and linear fashion, exactly what happened to GM.

Again, the FJ loses offroad.

Jeep is the original off-road brand, and I would take one over a Kamikazee any day.
