• my mom was born in da philippnes and her family so im filipeno and im leaning how to speak it

  • ganyan sana lahat ang mga pilipina na dumadayo dito sa america.

filipinos in hawaii are so, eawn di ko ma explain.. mas proud sila na nag e-emglish yung mga anak kesa turuang mag tagalog.. they are not proactive with our culture palibahsa naka tikim na ng dollar kaya yun wala na silang sense of eagerness to be pinoys.. mga walang hiya!

para sa mga pinoy sa hawaii:

ang pinoy na di tumingin sa pinanggalingan ay tinuturing na mukhang pera, garapal magpa-sosi! period!

  • Araykupo... may exception po siguro iyan. Shaka brah!

  • musta na

  • Mabuti po!

  • My mom came to America when she was 10, she has completly lost her accent but she still speaks Tagalog. Im trying to learn as well.

  • Cute! My mom was born in the Philippines but stopped speaking Tagalog years ago, she's trying to refresh her memory though.

  • "sino'ng kalbo? si tatay.." hahaha!

  • "kenen!" (kanan)

    lol he's so cute!!!!

  • Much Props!

I'm gonna do that do if i have a child

  • very smart..

  • man my parents have been speaking tagalog to me for years and i can only understand a little bit

  • Luv your KANAN! ahihihihihihi

  • this reminds me of when i was learing to read and speak in english.

  • 4-5 years you forgot to speak tagalog and ilocano? cmon pls

  • That is great! You should also look into Goosie Cards. They are flash cards that you can customize with your own photo. You could then associate the photo with the word below. Check them out at goosiecards . com Cool Stuff, mom owned!

  • -_- man i feel kinda ashamed of myself. i use to know how to speak tagalog and ilukano ... i don't even know how to spell any filipino words .... parents have been talkin to me in english. my baby siters insisted of me talking english and then 1 year later i forgot all of it!! now it's passed 4-5 years! i only understand it like a forgein language!! T_T

  • awwh so cute :)

  • aww. its so cute when little kids learn tagalog.

especially when their born in canada/america cause,

they have such cute accents. lol

  • (continued...)

At a young age, kids can learn so many things but they need practice in order to retain what they've learned. Although the flashcard method is good, speaking to children in Tagalog and having them respond in the same language is better. In no time, words will come naturally and they don't have to refer back to flashcards to remember (that's more like learning a language in school). Nonetheless, awesome effort! Power to people learning their culture's language.

  • You have a good point. Another thing to consider though is speaking the language and reading-writing it is a completely different skill to master which we need to continue to work on. Thanks!

  • I was raised bilingual and speak both Tagalog and English fluently. I was never taught with flashcards; my family spoke to me in Tagalog at home and I learned English (also at home) in school. (continued...)

  • lol...he is soo cute...ayiie...i wanna learn asswel...

  • dats soo cute wen he says it in english way lmao

  • lawl at amarosa

  • thanks for your video, smart kid! my daughter is 2yrs old and we're living in the uk (my hubby is british). i talk to her in filipino; she can understand me but doesn't converse in filipino (though she can sing bahay kubo!). i think because her dad talks to her in english and most of her exposure is in english (tv, friends etc). i'd love her to speak in filipino too, i hope it's not too late!

  • No it's not too late! Good luck and be patient!

  • ang cute namn nung bata!! he is really smart!

  • pinoy with american accent...kalbo ka rin pag tanda mo...so enjoy your buhok while you can :))

i had fun watching your vid...yehey mabuhay!

  • haha.. so cute.. i sorta talked tagalog when i was younger but now i am re- learning how..i can understand though! maybe i shud use flash cards!haha

  • flash cards are the best way to learn another languages vocabulary.

  • AHHHHHHHHH THAT SO CUTE

  • this is great. man, keep it up!

  • lol i wish id learnt filo when i was younger..now im struglling coz ive learned french and chinese. oof. filo is way cooler.

  • wow! kid's smart. it's great that you're teaching him tagalog. but is it true they'll be confused if kids are raised bilingual? i want my future kids to be bilingual like me hehe

  • Thanks for commenting! Look at it this way: we are not the only bilingual country in this world and some people even speak more than 2 languages/dialects. It is just an excuse (good or bad) to rely on someone else to educate our children.

  • ADOBO IS SOOOOO GOOD!

  • NICE, thank you - and I think you should start a flashcard business then. I'll buy them! =D

  • Eventhough you don't speak Tagalog your Filipino accent is perfect! We love your impersonations. Thanks Christine!

  • Perfect accent, too!

  • "si tatay!"

    cutest thing ever.

  • lol...lucky kid...i dont know any tagalog and im suppose to be filipino....i wish i learnt early...again lucky kid..and smart kid..lol

  • that's a great idea. i'll tell my bro to use flashcards for my niece. thanks!

  • i should get me some flashcards.

  • aww this is cute.. but the word "tuli" at the end made me laugh :)

  • Opps... my husband slipped that in.

That's why I stopped recording the lesson at that point. :)
