  • dang, this is peaceful

  • its a love song i like the song of mali music but now this song is strange for me is a love song

    god bless

  • I guess these songs can sometimes be difficult to understand. But I reckon people should read Songs of Solomon; I doubt they'll be complaining this much about this song. Certainly, Christians should be singing Love songs. Christianity is a Love story. And true love only comes by knowing and playing a part in this story, and reflecting the same love in our lives.

  • does anyone know where i can find the sng get to know him?

  • Can't Stop Listening

  • This song blessed my soul! Thank you for sharing :-)

  • Beautiful

  • I'm failing to see what the debate is. I feel for the more spiritual believer, this song hits home. regardless if it's for wife or Jesus or God. The song relates to just simply love and relationship, which is what being a Christian is all about. And Mali does NOT say baby lol. He said maybe. When our ears fail, context clues come in handy. God Bless

  • It just really depends on how you interpret the song if your more spiritual than others you will probably see it differently than someone who is used to the world

  • @Dirtyky i was about to see the same thing. when does he say baby?? some of these comments make me rolls my eyes, sorry. on your wedding day if you your first dance be to amazing grace, or a song that purely reflect your love for that said person? Where in the bible does its sinful to listen to a love song??? Jesus is the head of all we do and i see the song as an expression of that love in Christ; someone could see it as the love he desires to betow upon the right women whom God brings to him.

  • @jemstone0006 or to see it a "love song" love to be reflective of deep blood red - the love of Christ. in my opioion anyway.

  • Create a video response or Post

    @jemstone0006

I meant Mali says "baby" in this song so do you think he was referring to Jesus?...I for one don't.

  • @jemstone0006 The consumer should know who or what the song is about and not be left in the dark how many Christian artist do you know that are talking about "I met someone at a club and we had a good time last night? And when they're singing a love song who are they singing about when they are not saying JESUS, all I know is Tamela Mann made a love song but at the end she clearly said "I love you David" Mali says "baby" and is refering to Jesus,

  • nice!!!! mali i need new song!!!!!!!! yo! <3

  • I love this song its so beautiful. This song inspires me to go and write.

  • @BunchesTA ....sometimes that is, but you be blessed also!

  • @BunchesTA But also I'm not knocking this song I understand where your coming from alot of Gospel artist try to incorporate some of their own songs into the gospel so that they can feel comfortable I mean honestly alot of these gospel singers where on the verge of being secular artist before they were chose by Christ the thing is don't try to sneak it out there because it's things like that that make people think you're a flip flop. But I love this song I just change the lyrics when I sing it.

  • @traetv27 I get what you're saying eventhough I still love this song. God Bless

  • @traetv27 SO christians cannot sing about anything else but God?? what does secular or worldy mean to you. not starting a arugment just curious. i see nothing wrong with this song.

  • @jemstone0006 I have no problem with this song either I like it alot, it's just another person on here happend to send me a comment based on something I wrote that brought something to my attention, I just don't know who Mali is referring to in this song and as for what Christians should be singing, what do you want them to sing because they are Christians so why would they be singing songs of the world when that's not of or like God.

  • I interpreted a love song..similar to td jakes sacred love songs..love it love it

  • My God, the annointing in this Song is Insanely Amazing :) Thankyou Holy Spirit. Lord, we wanna be Deep Blood Red for you !

  • When I First Heard This Song I Fell In Love With It I Wanna Be Deep Blood Red

  • This is the most Favorite song of mali music...... The meaning really catches me and im a child so you know theres a annointing behind his music and in his life....

  • I love gods power to instill his everylasting beauty into so many soulful ppl his glory is the greatest understanding dat at a young age is so important to me

  • Makes me wanna worship

  • I love this!!

  • TO IGNORE THIS WOULD BE ABORTION OF THE FEELING THAT WE BOTH NOW LIVES DEEP WITHIN, SO INSPITE OF EMBARRASSMENT OR REJECTION, I COLD NOT BE NEGLIGENT OR IGNORED ABOUT WHAT I FEEL ANYMORE...... is anyone feeling this right now like I have been since I heard it ? Lyrics at it's finest, MALI MUSIC you definitely inspire me keep up the good work. I am rooting for you ! KEEP MAKING THE MUSIC JUST LIKE THIS AND I WILL BE A FAN FOR LIFE

  • i just love the part when he says "in other words, there are no other words "ABOVE THE WORD" and he is so right no name "nothing is above king JESUS"

  • @traetv27 But he did not say Jesus, he said destiny, be careful with how you interpret songs.

  • @christianaayodele Thanks, I know exactly what you mean but I'm a song writer and I already asked myself that question, but the thing is you have to sometimes incorporate your own self into whatever your doing to make it origional and since i know there are alot of flip flops now adays I always have to keep an extra watch because you can never be too careful but thanks because it's good to know you're not alone.

  • @traetv27 I get where your coming from, I just believe that if you are writing a song about Christ it should be written out loud and clear. For instance this song could minister to people, but How is someone who knows nothing about the God or His word suppose to interpret or gain from it, it will appear to them as a beautifully written love song and nothing more. If ur gonna preach Christ then preach Him don't hide Him in Metaphors.

  • @christianaayodele You know last night I was at home and I was singing this song and I had the lyrics with me also, though I have the song memorized I decided to look at the lyrics anyways and then something hit me, You were absolutely right and I do not even believe this was a gospel song I believe it was a "love" song perhaps to his significant other maybe. What stood out to me was the line we were discussing and the beginning but man, gospel artist need only sing gospel.

  • @traetv27 Thanks for understanding where I'm coming from. Stay blessed

  • @traetv27 I have a question when in any love songs that u have heard has the artist used the term "deep blood red"? When a christian artist uses terms like that u know that they are talking about Christ, or salvation. This song to me doesn't sound like a love song to another person at all to me. If u listen to songs like Marvin Sapp's never would have made it, he doesn't say God or Jesus in tht song once. The song has been turned into that. I think that song is more about love....

  • @BunchesTA Come on, I don't think you read lyrics properly if you think that never would have made it is a love song but deep blood red isn't. I gurantee you, that if you were to put both songs in front of an unbeliever, they would think NWHMI was about Christ way b4 DBR. In fact unless they have someone like you giving your interpretation I don't think that they would ever come to the conclusion that DBR is about Christ. P.S. Mali uses the word "baby* in the song, check lyrics.

  • @christianaayodele I'm not saying that "Never would have made" is a love song i'm saying that it could be one, and I read lyrics perfectly fine thank you. I've heard that Marvin Sapp wrote that song originally for his father. That's just what i've heard U should research that. I'm done with this convo because it could potentionally turn offensive, I've already said what I had to say. God Bless

  • @BunchesTA I don't knw why this conversation would get offensive, if were both christians, and I wasn't trying to stir up any trouble, I was just saying that for me I am very careful about how I interpret songs that are supposedly about Christ. I just feel like such songs should minister to people and I don't think DBR without someone like you interpreting it could do that, If I a christian take this song as a love song, how much more someone who doesn't believe.

  • @christianaayodele I get what you're saying. God Bless

  • @BunchesTA Well christianaayodele and I were not talking about Never would have made it and when I heard that song you can clearly get the message. As for Deep Blood Red, what christian would ever say that the word "destiny" is above the name Jesus. I'm not arguing about what this song means because it's obvious to see that he was talking about maybe his wife "hopefully" which is occassionally done in gospel music ex: Tamela Mann made a song for her husband, but DBR is not a gospel song.

  • @traetv27 (continuation) than this one is this song uses something that at least relates to Jesus and salvation so there's a better chance that this song is about his( Mali's) relationship with Jesus than Marvin Sapp's "Never Would Have Made It" God Bless

  • @traetv27 Or at least explain their music to people who can't read music at least.

  • Off the chain bruh bruh love this song it's in the pocket!!! love to see you continue with more acoustic work!!!

  • this speaks to me because i havent looked at the things of God in a while and it brings me to wanting to be back into that DEEP BLOOD RED presents again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD STUUUUF FOR REAL!!!!

  • Just to let everyone know...I posted Since I Found Christ by Kierra Sheard feat. Mali Music and JDS. It was officially released today..check it out when you can. God bless you!

  • I absolutely love this song!!! YESSSSSSSSSS Mali!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!

  • God moves in this song I just feel the Anointing ! :)

  • Deep Blood what I want to be...

  • OH God what a gorgeous concept about Being like Christ

  • Powerful Words! May this Ministry Flourish further into what and where GOD is Taking this Man of GOD!

  • this song gives me chills..............its sooo powerful......u can just feel GOD moving in this song

  • No I'm Puerto Rican. LOL! I am merely stating that he his so organic and deeply rooted in God that his music reflects the style delivery of those two artists. Obviously Mali transcends just more than one style of music, but his passion is liken to the two artists I mentioned. He tore our church up when he came. North Park Apostolic Church in San Diego. I was balling from start to finish in worship.

  • This Dude is the Garnett Silk and Bob Marley of Gospel Music!

  • @5683872 you're Jamaican aren't you?

  • Mali music is great inspiration.

  • SOOOOO........IM CRYING SO HARD RIGHT NOW

  • just imagin the songs that God is going to sing when we get to heaven.......infinity part harmony all by himself.........hez just teasing us on how awesome he is through music....and he chooses who he want to use......

  • Is this A group of company

  • I love mali music and this song is so powerful

  • itunes . apple com/us/album/deep-blood-red-single/id414157498

for those who use itunes.. u can get it here too

  • ~this is song is a deep blessing~

  • can't even begin to explain how i feel when i hear dis song......my heart just feels so much peace....

  • Its amazing how the Blood of Christ connects us to God himself!!!

  • sing mali

  • @mellea2012 Amen! God reveals as He sees fit!!!!

  • <3 This Song!!!!! SO Much!!!!

  • Why r people still trying 2 say that this song is about an earthly relationship! WHEN HAS MALI MUSIC EVER WRITTEN ABOUT AN EARTHLY REALTIONSHIP. Never. This song is about him being covered in the blood and when we are covered in the blood of Jesus God the Father doesn't see us or our sins He can only see Jesus and his sacrafice. I think that's what mali is saying in this song. He wants God to see his Son not his sin or himself.

  • @BunchesTA However true christian marriage should also be a representation of how Christ and the church are one, so I guess in those terms the song could be about relationships.

  • @christianaayodele I guess i could have that meaning to another person, but in Mali's case he's not married so in this song he's talking about wanting to be like Jesus because of his relationship with Him, and wanting the Father to see Jesus blood covering his sin. Hence the name Deep Blood Red.

  • @BunchesTA Sorry but I can not come to the same conclusion, nor do I think that the song is about marriage. I was just trying to let u c how others may c it from that angle if taking it from a christian relationship view point. I simply believe that this song is a beautiful Love song, I have written earlier I am more careful about interpreting songs that are suppose to be about Christ, yet do not use the name of Jesus or biblical scripture to illustrate it.

  • One of the best songs ever written! In my opinion! But then again any song talkin about the blood of Jesus is my fav!

  • good music

  • this truely touches me

  • He is definitely talking About Jesus and how he felt about us.. He say's "To show you the weight of this magnitude, to show my interest in you" aka the burden he took on by going to the cross for us and the love.

  • @adamreid1213 That doesn't necessarily mean that he is talking about Jesus, I could say those same words to my spouse. As a christian I feel that I have to be careful about how I interpret songs that don't outrightly use the name of God in them or scripture. Not saying that it can't be about Jesus, I'm just more careful about jumping to conclusions like that.

  • look at Him all that He has given up 4 us. He wants us 2 notice that He gave His life all He ask is that with all the technology and what not can He still be our favorite. I see this a a deeply beautiful song frm Christ 2 His people. It didn't even matter if we rejected Him. He loved us so much He knew that this was His destiny. God wanted 2 bring something monumental 2 us, His Life. All He could see was the love He held 4 us. Oh it makes me cry everytime I think about it. JESUS IS AWESOME!!

  • You know what you guys I can totally understand what you mean when you think that this song is based on an earthly relationship. I felt like that when I first heard it too but when I continued to listen to it I felt like it was something else. I feel as if Mali is singing as if he were Jesus Christ. Jesus could no longer deny the fact that He loved us all so deeply and would willing die for us. All He could see was Deep Blood Red the sacrifice He could be for us. He wants us to see everytime we

  • @Courtlane91 OMG i see it now!! I SEE IT I SEE IT...im crying...i get it now

  • @Courtlane91 What do you mean by "Jesus could no longer deny the fact that He loved us all so deeply"? When was Christ ever in denial about his love for us?

  • So so amazing this song...all I want my husband to see when he sees me is the love and grace of the Lord over my life and deep in my soul. This is what EVERY heaven sent relationship needs to based upon. THUMBS UP if you want the REAL DEAL from God and are willing to WAIT!

  • WONDERFUL LYRICS!!! IN ANY RELATIONSHIP, THE BIBLE SAYS NOT TO DWELL WITH THE UNGODLY. WHEN IT COMES TO ROMANCE, IT IS ESPECIALLY CLEAR NOT TO BE UNEQUALLY YOKED TOGETHER..."Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness"? -2Corithians 6:14...I NEED TO SEE THAT "DEEP RED BLOOD" BEFORE HE GETS MY PHONE NUMBER♥

  • He is obviously talking to a girl. But, acknowleding the emotions from a Godly perspective. I love this. God is in everything, especially LOVE. "Deep blood red is all I see, Deep blood red is all I want to be" -- he wants to see her and for her to see him in the blood of Christ's sacrifice. This is a beautiful love song! God is pleased I am sure. If we all could see our mates, spouses, future spouses in the light of Christ's sacrifice. I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @miracleear As much as I agree that God is in everything, I see this as a love song sung by Christ to His bride, the church. Just my take...God bless

  • @drewkerz9 However true christian marriage is also a representation of Christ's relationship with the church. So it could be about a man and his wife.

  • i was singing this song in mah head at work today, i love it, then i started singing the blood gives me strength from day to day, from the hyms praise book. I forget the song name

  • This is an amazing piece! I believe that if Christ were to write a love song to each of us, it would go something like this. From that perspective, the lyrics begin to take on a completely different light. Christ's sacrifice is no less than the manifestation of his perfect and unending love. A man can show no greater love than to give his life for his brother. As such, Christ has shown me the greatest love. All he wants is that I would look upon him and know that love...that deep blood red.

  • simply lovelii

  • beautiful!

  • tough

  • Such a smooth jam..you bring such an art to christ-based music..it would be insulting to place you in ANY genre of music, for u are by far...one of the greatest gifts to the game...God Bless Mali!!!!...muah!!

  • This is a Love song. The phrase "Deep blood red" Stands for lo<3e. Don't get me wrong I love the Lord, but this song is not talking about the Blood of Jesus. The song is simply a love song. People read and listen to the lyrics carefully.

  • love it!

  • I love the song but I don't understand it. (4:47) Sounds like he said baby.. If I'm wrong I please forgive me..

  • @OutofSinintoChrist he said could it be maybe not baby lol

  • @divakel425 He said Baby

  • @divakel425 He did say baby

  • @OutofSinintoChrist ugh , im a bit disapointed . it did sound like he said bby .. it's still a beautiful song but i'm not quite sure if it's gospel or a love song now . . now idk whether ishould worship Jesus to it or not . this is one of those songs that has ah deeeeeep meaning & the best way to inquire an interpretation is from HIM himself .

  • @alexiehester Don't be disappointed. Yes, he is talking to a girl. But, per the lyrics, he is acknowleding his emotions and that they Godly. I love this! God is in everything, especially our LOVE lives. He wants to see her and for her to see him in the blood of Christ's sacrifice. This is a beautiful love song! God is pleased I am sure. If we all could see our mates, spouses, future spouses in the light of Christ's sacrifice. Love this teaching on HOW to SEE love! Amazing!!!!

  • @miracleear Wow thats deep. <3 and then the music in the back ground ugh! But I agree 100% :)

  • @miracleear He wasn't talking to a girl he said MAYBE. Mali doesn't write about earthly relationships. The only song he wrote that has to do with another human is Belivea and it's about his mom and him. This song is about him being covered in the blood of Jesus and he wants God the father to see the blood of Jesus when he looks at him because if the Father can only see the blood He can only see His Son Jesus. Which covers up our sins when the Father looks at us. GBY

  • Could someone give me their interpretation of this song? I have my own however I would love to see what others think.

  • @Courtlane91 I personally just thought that this song was a heart felt love song. Some of the comments on here suggest that it is about Christ and his relationship with us, not saying that such views are wrong because music should be free to interepretation, however as a christian I feel that I have to be very careful about how I interpret songs that don't outrightly use the name of God in them or any scripture as it can often not be about that even though we may think it is.

  • i <3 this!!

  • Good... ZERO dislikes! That's what I'm talkin about....=)

  • Nice

  • Mali is so brilliant and talented with his music!!! It was my pleasure to meet him...a very anointed man of God!!!

  • Umm, I think he's singing about the girl. It doesn't seem to fit as love for Christ. And he says at :43 could it be... possibly... which aren't words you'd use in reference to love for Christ and at :50 he says babe. Also, he never uses the word love which would indicate (to me at least) that he's probably writing this about a girl who he's not yet in love with but is definitely interested in or something like that.

  • @Jrodanman No thats wrong bro. He is not talking about a girl, thats way off. If you really knew and understood Mali, he uses analogies all the time. Deep Blood Red is referring to what you see when you look at him, because he is covered by the blood of Christ. And when he says "could it be...possibly" he isnt really questioning love of Christ because he knows it to be true already. And he doesnt say "babe" he says "maybe"...wouldnt it make for sense if he said "could it be...possibly...maybe?"

  • @KingdomKidd1 That is why as a Christian I get very weary of artists like Mali. I think this song is beautiful, but if I was an unbeliever how would I know that this was about Christ? How would it minister to me? He doesn't even mention the name of Jesus. I personally just take it as a beautiful love song.

  • This song is saying we are striving to look llike Christ and even if causes rejection or embarassment we shouuld be so satisfied with Jesus and striving to look like him until he is the only thing that we see in ourselves and we give up our desires so we can totally consumed by his will

  • i belive he is aking God when he looks at him for him to see the Christ in him i believe he is referring to Jesus as deep blood red

  • interesting lyrics makes a lot of since. Bathed in his blood reborn to be the light of the world. Saved from the pain of death through the Sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Washed in the blood of the lamb spilt on the alter of cavalry

  • Sounds like he is saying he just wants you to see JESUS when you see him, not MALI but JESUS CHRIST, you dont hear the voice, the cool atire or anything like that but that you see DEEP BLOOD RED ... DEEP meaning something he done been thru some things just as jesus christ did. DEEP BLOOD RED, those three words says A WHOLE STORY to me.

  • Nothing special to say just my alltime favorite singer keep stayin in relationship mali with king

  • welcome back mali its been a long time this is a good song

  • Mali is such an anoited man of God and such a wonderful exzample for the youth and ppl of all background. I cant wait to do some work with this artist one day. I am so thankful(shout out to Gen Vegas) that got me hooked on Mali from his song I Hate You. I ahve been enjoying this music ever since. hard to find on cd but thank God for youtube.

  • Interesting analogy. When u see me u see deep blood red. Man GOD is awesome. My life is covered under the blood. I eish when people saw me they see the blood of Christ. Not only on the surface but deep inside me. My character needs to be controlled by GOD alone.

  • @gth704w Yes you got it as I do...this is deep...see me washed in the precious blood of the lamb.

  • I really love this song! I've been falling asleep to it for the pass couple of nights and I sleep so peacefully and wake up feeling calm. Any who some folks seem to be a tad bit confused as to what the song is talking about. Honestly, I think it's just about him being deep blood red as in covered with the blood of Jesus, which makes us white as snow. But I guess we'll never know until Mali tells us. As of right now its simply all up to interpretation.

  • Love this Song!!!

  • I love this song right here this my frist time hearing his new music this is a hit song righr here you know. I am wanting to see the live performance of this song

  • I love this song right here this my frist time hearing his new music this is a hit song righr here you know

  • yesss this is beautiful

  • beautiful song neo soul meets christ...

  • I think i get it....basically whenever he says "deep blood red" replace that with Jesus...I think he's saying that how he wants to be like Jesus...and he will be so proud when you look at him and see Christ. I think to he's saying how Christ covers us with his blood changes the way that God sees us...His blood presents us faultless and blameless

  • what exactly is he talking about

  • Honestly, I'm not exactly sure, but I am leaning towards the blood of Jesus

  • @Nogr8erluvthanHis my interpretation is Jesus expressing himself to us

  • @IfeMeansLove777 It can mean that too. This song can be interpreted in many different ways it seems like. I feel like we need to interview Mali and ask him what was his inspiration for making this song.

  • @jazzieg2009 he is talkin abt da blood n bein covered n it spiritually. a representation of God's word love mercy grace blessings power. he wnts 2 b pleasin n God's eyes...Deep Blood Red!! Dis song speaks 2 me so much...i've jus been feastin and meditatin on it bcuz it is beautiful n a wonderful way of expressin dat we all really jus wanna b pleasin and acceptable n God's eyes.

  • @jazzieg2009 By deep blood red he is talking about his passion for Christ. Look at the lyrics. He doesnt want to step out of proportion but to ignore would be abortion. He is saying that he does not want to step on ppls toes about it but to ignore the passion in his heart and not tell any1 would be like killing someone that didnt have the chance to be born. Ppl that dont know the gospel did not have the chance to be born again.

  • @jazzieg2009 The feeling and passion and zeal in his heart is so strong that he doesnt care about embarrassment or rejection he cant ignore the feeling. The feeling to tell the gospel is so passionate, it has this deep, scarlet, blood-shot red color. Its very fierce thats all he sees or thats all he knows to do. He will shine so bright that when you see him that is all you will see.

  • @jazzieg2009 2nd verse: What has inspired and moved him to have this deep blood red zeal for the passion of the gospel of Christ is the feigning desire to be something in God's eyes so he is dedicated to engraft himself in God's Word because he is very intrested.

  • @jazzieg2009 I believe what Mali is saying is that he cannot and will not ignore his love for God...even if others reject him (inspite of embarrassment) he wants God to see him as a reflection of Christ.

  • @jazzieg2009 whoops, forget what I mentioned about red robes in revelations, that was totally wrong lol.

  • @jazzieg2009 he does't want to go over board, he doesnt want to cross the line, but to ingore this feelings that dwell in me would be crazy. in spite of humiliation or you rejecting me it doesnt matter i cant keep fighting these feelings anymore thats why deep blood red(JESUS) is all i see (JESUS) is what i want to be oh how i shine how proud i be if when u saw me u would see(JESUS)or deep blood red (second verse is anwsering why did he make this song) thats what i got from it

  • @jazzieg2009

It seems that this song is about Jesus making His decision to die for us after we chose sin and His desire to show us His love hoping that we will see how much He loves us (by dying for us) and hopefully we would decide to enter into a relationship with Him. It's His love song to us. Deep blood red represents that sacrifice that He freely made in order to save us, He couldn't see it any other way, it would be like aborting His child (us) to not go through with the plan to save us.

  • @DrewPileggi That makes so much sense!! That's definitely one of the best answers I've seen thus far. Again, this song can have many different meanings referring to Christ to various people. It just demonstrates the diversity of our individual relationships with Christ. Thanks for your post.

  • @Nogr8erluvthanHis

glad it could be a blessing to you. when i listened to the song as if Jesus were singing it to me it started to make so much sense and it was very touching. for example, only a parent can abort a child so if He chose to not go through with the sacrifice it would have been like willfully aborting us.

  • @dypileggi I thank the Holy Spirit for giving the revelation to you. Praise God for Jesus and sending Him to be the door to eternal life.

  • love it! Keep going Mali.....be blessed

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhh love it!!! he is deep sincere and real about his music!!

  • LOVE IT!

  • wat he talkin bout?

  • @iluvbn "deep blood red" ... jesus ...im assuming

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHH....I'M SOOO GLAADD THIS SONG IS BACK ON YOUTUBE!!!!!!!

  • @L3t1t8e lol I'm glad that you are happy. I actually never heard it previously. I saw the one video Mali posted about people posting his songs before they were formally released. I didn't know that this was one of them. However, I'm glad to make it available now that it's been officially released.

  • @Nogr8erluvthanHis ....This song is PURE GENIUS!

  • @L3t1t8e ikr ! they took a LOOOOOT of his songs off youtube , some have not been put back up ...yet . but iwas LOANING to hear this song . it is soooo beautifuleeee` <3

  • i love this song its not new to me personally but it will def be a favorite to people who like mali's music!
