true love between clarence and alabama is the appeal of the movie,,what they went thru for each other,,this ending does not fit at all,,out of sync.,,just wrong.
totally would have ruined the movie. it's all sinister this way...there's no redemption, no such thing as true love, and it makes her look like she played him for a john the entire movie in hindsight. tarantino....ya (almost) blew it!!!
@ag642 it's not making her seem like she played him for a john. it's her trying to cope with it all, trying to convince herself it's not her fault, trying to put the blame on him as if they were in a real life fight, as if she's talking to him, pretending he's still around to talk to and have this argument with. the true love is still there. he's still "so cool" to her.
NO NO NO, it's wrong!! Alabama loved Clarence from the minute she clapped eyes on him, she wouldn't act like that... she wasn't cold hearted. The best thing about this ending is the Chris Issacs track.
I'd never seen this ending before. It sucks though. It just doesn't fix with the rest of the movie. The only thing I like is Alabama's hypnotising voiceover.
@365to173repubsPWNED@cbazan66 She's trying to talk herself out of caring so she can stop hurting. (subtext so blatant it have a hard time calling it subtext)
in this ending she is just sooo biter and angry because she lost him and that she loved him SOOO much and now he is gone...and she can not cope with that...appropriate ending for this eventuality...
this ending is such a non sequitur. alabama has absolutely no resemblance in this final scene to how she is during the rest of the movie. the rest of the movie she was obsessed with clarence and head over heels in love, and him to her. here she doesn't give a shit. wtf
I've always loved the way the mafia dude pops up from behind the couch. "Ouveri!"(Spelling?) and has his left hand out the way he does, cracks me up every time.
In an article I've read that in tarantino's original screenplay alabama actually commits suicide because she can't live without clarence.
My question about this ending is that alabama was driving towards mexico... then pulls over... & walks across the street, to hitchhike in the opposite direction ?
Anyway... great flick... can't stop watching it once i start.
Did'nt like this ending, much preferred when Slater actually lived. I found that hard to comprehend at first. But it does deserve a happy ending no matter what the outcome is.
so glad the movie didnt end like this!! i love the fact that they both lived and not because i wanted a happy ending but cause although she was a call girl, he was a murderer and now a drug dealer they are the two most loveable characters, it takes a great writer to create characters like that and still have the audience root for them....love this movie
like this ending a lot, more darker, edgier more tarantino

This ending is more real life. Not a hollywood feel good ending. Just a real life ending.

@davidicus21 Again someone like Alabama would not cope in that way. She was too obsessed to not just fall apart.

Wow this ending really does suck. Your an asswhole? there is no way she would have said that cause she was madly in love with him.

Never-mind... in both scenes the pacific ocean is on the right hand side. She must have made a u-turn & parked.

This version would have ruined the entire movie. So glad they didn't use it.
