As an ordinary vs/arcade-style game, it looks awesome. But as Castlevania...it looks terrible. Really terrible. I've only ever played the original Castlevania on the NES, but when you think about that, and other legendary Castlevania titles (like Castlevania IV and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, this game looks so out of place and mediocre.

i bought this game yesterday and it's actually pretty good...

not as good as Soul Caliber or Tekken, but for a Wii Fighting Based Game it's decent.

The graphics aren't too great but for 22 bucks at KMart I'll say it's just fine =^_^= (beats Wii Sports, that's for sure...lol)

it seems that whether people like it or not, symphony of the night is gone for good, there has been far better games since symphony, its just that its the only remembered one because it was the first to introduce the new style. I think we should be giving game such as order of ecclesia, lament of innocence and aria+dawn of sorrow the praise they deserve instead of lingering on the past.

I have been an avid fan of Castlevania since it was first released on NES. I have completed every Castlevania that has ever been released in the USA, including this one. My opinion is that this game officially sucks fat balls, as does EVERY OTHER Castlevania that is not a 2-D sides croller. Oh! and for those wondering; the online play is fantastic. It takes maybe a minute at best to setup a fight with a random fighter and after you are in a fight, you can continue to rematch your challenger till one of you is finished. The online play is clean and I have yet to see lag. Along with that, their are ranking matches and the ability to make friends easily after battles by merely requesting a friendship or RIVALRY with that foe. Also, like tekken or virtua fighter, you can customize!!

The characters possess techniques and abilities that come from the games they dwelled from and can be interchanged and combined in a great deal of ways. You can very clearly see different play style possibilities and each character defiantly feels solid, balanced, and diverse. Ladies and gents, welcome a great new fighter on the Wii. I think your opinion is a bit narrow minded. Some people enjoy what has been done to the game, and there are obvious reasons why they decided to make a fighting game. The first reason is that trying to make a good adventure game on the Wii is quite a daunting task and imagine whipping your Wiimote for several hours as the protagonist. Sound like fun? I think not. Second, this will allow people to better imagine what the characters are capable of.

This isn't an act of laziness you dumb fuck, this is a way to show what some characters are REALLY capable of, and it's a shot at a new direction, trying something new. They obviously won't stick with fighters only, but there may be some here and there. The game looks amazing, no one can deny that fact.

Honestly, it sounds more like you hate fighters as opposed to this game being a fighter. Enlarge your span of video games and give it a shot if you're a true Castlevania fan; I'm not but I will.
