One time I found a box on the side of a building near Seattle center. In it was an original atari 2600 with about 30 games. I was on my way to work already, so I stashed it in a bush and it was still waiting for me there when I got home from work! I can definitely say I know how you feel! You found way more stuff than I did though!

Yeah, that grid page in the manual is for using the Select toggle to select what type of game do you want. Take Space Invaders for instance, you could have moving shields, invisible invaders, or 2 player option (same time or alternate) -- stuff like that.
