I remember this as a little kid, and afterward I got nightmares about getting sucked into the escalator by my shoe laces and I wouldn't go on an escalator for the longest time.
when i was young i was playing around on an escalator and i fell all the way down..i have that memory in the back of my head and i have never been on one since
"Man, there's not a year goes by, not one year, that I don't hear about some escalator accident involving some bastard kid that could have easily been avoided if some parent, I don't care which one, but some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator!"
Yeah... I remember watching this when it first came on TV when I was 7... stayed away from escalators for a few years :-p Hell, even now, at 25 years old, I can't help but think of this episode when I reach the bottom of an escalator! Damn you Shatner! :-p
awesome Rescue 9-11... allgood2000 how were you able to have access to these old episodes post PVR, did you VHS and transfer it all to digital quite the task... anyways thanks for uploading I think I remember hearing about this on the news. When I was little.
I saw this episode as a kid and it traumatized me for life-- I'm 20 now and to this day I am still leery of escalators--my dad had to carry me onto them when I was little LOL.
Amazing re-enactment. Sometimes you can't tell it's not the actual thing when they make these, it was hard to watch! That 18 year old Nathan is a hero. And I really think he tried his best to save that kid.
There were a few years before Rescue 911 even aired this episode that I had an escalator phobia because I was afraid that this kind of accident would happen to me.
i wa scared of escalators at his age.... i got my shoelace in one once never went down them the same again....and i could not imagine this happening to me poor kid
Why did I have to watch this!? Now I'm scared of escalators all over again!!!...this made me cry cause I wouldn't want this to happen to any other kid EVER!!!
I wasn't living here at the time but I remember being excited because the US was paying attention to something in Canada even though it was a horrible event that ended well.
hi im looking for show that use to be on discovery kids. it was about kids rescuing people. one epissode i remeber i think. it was bout a little girl who is running in a marathon w/her mom and she saves this old man.if anyone remebers this show.please let me know.thank you
When I was a kid Esculator's scared me. I work at a movie theater now and I see kids playing on Esculators all the time. They really shouldn't those things are dangerous.
God Bless everyone who stopped to help. This is a parents worst nightmare. Please watch your children at all time, you never know when something can go wrong.
i hate escalators ive ridden them 3 times and i had to sit down because i kept falling on my butt the only time i rode it when i as little i was holding on t my dads leg because i was scared
I never did believe what's on Rescue 911, because they're recording them and how do they know something bad is about to happen? It's like they're making them do those bad things on purpose....Because if it was really an Emergency, the person who's recording them would've helped.
Maybe if the mother had been watching her kid, this wouldn't have happened. I don't have kids, but even I know that you can't take your eyes off them for even one second.
I remember watching this when I was a kid, also living in Canada. Needless to say, I've been REALLY cautious around escalators ever since. I remember this episode so well. :(
this show was the shit when I was growing up in the 90's. Scared me.. I always thought the reenactments were the real thing. I remember after this one I was like fuck the escalator's at the malls, lets take the elevator.
this reminds me of when i was little and ran up a down escalator and my gran tried to run up after me and ended up slicing her leg open and someone had to call an ambulance. now me no likey escalators
Dude....i saw this episode when it first aired i was like 3 or 4 and i think about it each time i get on an escalator not even kiddin lol...i'm 20 now...and still not over it =/
