  • isn't this cube? that gun is the same.

  • @bobrulerofall I think its from same developer, maybe same engine

  • GBA FTW!!!!!

  • It looks awesome. Best graphics on the GBA IMO. The only problem is that the GBA can't output very good resolution.

  • why making a 32bit handheld if it is not meant for 3d,yes 3d is still possible trough software, but nintendo itself never had meant the console for 3d and they never had made any 3d game,my impression is also that they had never made any 32bit games, except enhanced/speeded up 16bit games, but even those games do,nt take full advantage of the 32bit chip,i guess nintendo never used the full 32bit power in order to save on battery power!!!

  • @johneymute yea they made 3D for GBA games.

  • Its using paralax mapping WHEEE!!!

I swear, GBA's linear texture warping is weirder than it was on psx/saturn. It kinda bends inward.

  • hey it's doom

  • Well too bad that levels are ugly and that the game wasnt released, everybody would buy this game, even if gba is outdated!

    The graphics are: amazing!

Amazing textures, bunch of trises but its 2.5 except some models but where is the the enemies? Also level desing is a bit weird.why not somewhere in the tunel or in the hull of space ship ...

  • @MetalChanel5of10 Well it is just tech demo, but they released another version even with enemies and other map.

  • @Ganimoth

Well i cant find the video of newer version of yeti 3d for gba...

  • @MetalChanel5of10 Well try to find video "GBA Homebrew (((Yeti 3D The Temple))) DEMO"

  • @MetalChanel5of10 2.5D doesn't exist when you're a programmer. This is actually a fully 3D engine, but games like Doom are entirely 2D.

  • They shoould make deus ex for gba...just cause you know

  • this looks a lot more like a very good raycasting engine, if you use the rom, can you see if the pixels change, when you look up or down?

  • @babayaga26 What you're describing with the look up/down thing is warped perspective because with 2D fps engines (Like Doom and raycasters) the look up/down is called y-sheering and what it does is cut off part of the screen and draw higher up, the down side to this is the walls are always vertically straight as it doesn't recalculate view angle, this engine is fully 3D as you can see the corrected perspective (Walls bend towards the player when they look up/down)

  • Its kinda a shame that the GBA died out when it did... I was expecting it to be a stronger revival in the pseudo-3d effects so often found in ol' DOS games.

  • Heh, you can see a lot of warped texture artifacts on hallways, but this looks fucking awesome still.

  • y'know, this looks a lot like Quake, MUST DL ROM!

  • Looks great but PIXELS!

  • malos graficos

  • ok yeah, the purple room's textures are too uniform to navigate.

  • Its the little engine that could. Ummm. If anyone wants the source code, contact me. Im the author of Yeti3D

  • this looks just like sauerbrauten. well, the gun does.

  • not quite enough bumped maps

  • Wow, I've never seen 3D this smooth on the GBA. Seems like the GBA was really rather capable when it came to PS1-style 3D graphics, but usually didn't end up utilizing it because of the lack of buttons.

  • this is cryengine 3 on ps3 tech demo...wow!

  • No, I think it's 360.

  • nooo, ps3 do not have antialiasing

  • i have source :D want sb?

  • i want a rom :(

  • They got that engine with a game called Cube for iPod Touch & iPhone app store ;D

Better graphics though in the iPod one.

  • nope just a better screen

  • Na, its a complete rewrite. Cube uses a lot of float maths and requires OpenGL. Yeti3D has bigger cells but each cell has more options. ie: both ceiling/floor slopes, more cell corner options, zero overlap polygons and cell grouping. Cube was a major inspiration for Yeti3D, but also was Ken's Labyrinth. An engine by Ken Silverman who wrote the Build engine. ie: Duke Dukem, Blood, etc

  • That looks a lot like Sauerbraten/Cube. It even has similiar Power-Ups!

  • The graphics are medium but the movements are smooth for a GBA :P

  • At least in this version, anyway. In the third version of this engine (this one is the second), the framerate goes straight to hell when enemies pop up. The reason why this goes so fast is because there are no enemies. Still, it's pretty amazing.

  • Yep :-( Yeti3D started with 2D sprites, but I wanted MD2 (Quake 2) models. So, I coded up a MD2 model converter and wrote a model bucket sorted model renderer using 24:8 fixed point maths. The triangles were rendered using a high speed PS1 stle texture mapper with a basic half-light mode for when models where is shadows. Um, after that, the GBA became obsolete and I moved onto the PocketPC platform, which can run at a decent speed. I added dithered texture mapping at that stage

  • @Ericboy114558 Medium graphics? It`s gba!

  • If you used a emulator where is the fucking rom??

  • I dont know exactly where I found it, but it was hard to find it. I will look if I still have it in my pc.

  • Did you ever get it? If so please send it to me.

  • this 3d engine gave the gba the force to compeat against other handhelds and even the psp & nds.

it proved that full speed, color and textures etc,,, and perfect ps2 ports were possible on the gba.

  • i have this on my ipod touch.

  • this is really, really impressive for the gba dude

  • Shame nobody is still developing this for GBA, the engine has real promise and there are still a great many GBA users around.

  • Comment removed

  • nice graphics for a gba game

  • what kind of flash cart are you using? Doesn't seem to work on my EZFlash IV

  • man. nice performance and graphic for gba!

  • looks better than that commercial james bond game, dont even mention the medal of honor fps! Woot WOOT!!

  • Thanks for the reference, now i'm downloading yeti roms!

  • I used to play around with it alot and now they have enemys
