  • I hate HTML5.

  • nice spelling error 'Capatalism' :-)

  • raid over moscow was the first game i ever saw on a computer

  • Excellent! Delta and The Last Ninja would have been a nice addition too

  • A M A Z I N G !!!

Thank you very much for this!!!

  • Cheers for this mate. There are some real gems here. Off to Remix64 to grab me some. :-)

  • Brillant!! How beautiful was this period of creativity. Btw, I miss the music of Ghosts'n Goblins - is there a cool remix available somewhere?

  • nooooooooo.... the musics shouldn't be like!!!!

  • i didnt know glad0s hated capitalism...

  • Exploding Fist METAL COVER! :D

  • the best days of our lives

  • Terra Cresta wow my favourite :-)

  • Awesome intro! , best tribute of c64 music ever! Miss that times....

  • @ynonn1000 It's the other way around.

  • I had a game on mine, cant remember what it was called but it was awesome.. it was so simple... just a ball which you moved across the screen and you could jump with it, you couldnt hit the squares, some moved some didnt, you couldnt hit the diamonds either, it was like a grey ball all in 2d obv! and had like white dots round the edge. Anyone know what it was called? I want it back and I WANT to play it again! its been something like 20 years since I did!

  • @TheSquishMovies sounds familiar, could it be the marble madness port from the Atari to the C64?

  • @Geokinkladze Nope just check that out definately not that. It was 2D simple side on 2D Graphics the most basic, the ball was a grey circle with white dots round the edge. If I got to see it again it would totally bring back my youth from when I was about 6 or 7, it was one of the first games I played! Nostalgic overdrive

  • Wtf has capitalism got to do with it?

  • @krokant010 you are the chosen one

  • +1 for music, -1 for "capatalism"

  • @Dennoman2007 -1 on you for not also noting that it should've been "All we have left now is nostalgia" rather then "All we have left now are the nostalgia". This clip was published in 2006, do you think you were the first to notice the writing was wrong? It's not a goddamn spelling contest.

  • trance of the 80's!!

  • Sorry, but the graphix looked as good as the best graphix today.

  • Batman: The movie, Giana Sisters, Last Ninja... so many great games and awesome music on the Commodore...

  • you arent very good at green boret, are you...

  • Ihr seid Opfah. PS3 rulez

  • superb sounds here, and th remixes are ace

  • Giana sisters looks so much better than mario

  • Commodore they build the gaming machines of the 80's !! Thumps up if u still miss that era !!!

  • Capitalist sucks!

    First games rule!

  • 152 "dislike" people are obviously people that have no idea where it all started and why we have what we have today. If it wasn't for all of this innovative and extremely creative C64 stuff we would not have all of the great things we have now in the way of gaming. Just as this video says, though, the gaming is not about games any more. It has veered of course into something totally alien to what it used to be and what it was intended to be. How sad.

  • Great times :P

  • i have an amiga cd32 and an c64

  • From what Turrican is that first song from???

  • CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE REMIX TO GREEN BERET PLXX

  • KOOOONAAAAAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !!!

  • good times :D

  • lol why name nintendo and amiga ona c64 tribute??????????????????c64 owned the ALLLLLL!!!

  • I agree with fisrts 30 second of this video, but hen .. tThis tribute would be good if the music of Commando and GIana sisters wasnt so fucked up.

  • I still have the Amiga emulator.. and Hybris. Now THAT is a fun game, can play for hours!

  • Can't find a game like "Green Beret" anywhere, graphics or not. That game is still fun.

  • I disagree, there is alot of great modern games and game music with soul and character, and I bet the kids today will say the same thing about the games from their youth and feel just as nostalgic...

  • yeah thats absolutly right 80's forever^^

  • "Capatalism"? "all we have left now ARE the nostalgia"?

  • capatilism

It wasnt all about spelling. XD

  • 144 people were dancing so much C64 music that they almost died! : P

  • IK+!!!!!!!

  • Permission to troll: DEADSPACE 2 ROCKS!!!

  • @alecton Since when does a troll ask for permission to do anything, especially when it comes to being a troll?

  • Can you plz tell me link for that first game song (commando?). I realy like that song

  • @TheSpyProduction1 I dunno where you'll find it unless you can still buy the album of their site, but the commando track sounds very much like Instant Remedy, who did a few of the tunes in this vid. checkout RKO(dot)com for c64 mixes like these.

  • Den er god!

  • thanks good bunch of musikz there :)

  • Like: Here is a tribute to Renoir's paintings , but its done with pop art.

  • this takes me back for sure, i haven't even thought about some of these games in 20 years!

  • I remember Giana sisters and this game is the best

  • @TheSakamura is better than Mario Bros!!

  • This doesn't sound anything like the C64. Why would you make a tribute video to Commodore64 music, using some random synthesizer dance music instead of actual C64 music? How are people gonna know what C64 music is like? That's like making a tribute video to Ford using Toyotas, for example.

  • @Mash4096 why don't u grow a set of eyes don't u read what it said spanner I guess u never so maybe u should grow up u lil ding and read what it said at the beginning

  • i would love to get an mp3 of this

  • DUDE IF U GET SIZUERS DONT WATCH IT JUST LISTEN TO IT

  • i think, the original trax are more better....

  • like it green beret

  • i recognise many of the games showed here...thumbs up lolz

  • wuauauauaua 'ea arapute' o' casciòne! che bei ricordi e ...quante scosse...il mio non teneva la messa a terra

  • If i got Emmett Brown's deLorean, i would go back in time where c64 was in.

  • That 30 second intro rocks in SO many ways. Thank you MUCH for this video!

  • omg, youtube just loadet the first 10 seconds and i was beating the "like" button :D thats so true...the graphics of new games are just gourgues, but the lack of spirit and soul is tremendous! Games are pushed toghether in a few weeks or months, but it isn't story that stands in the foreground...its a shame...

  • They might have star fox but we got zaxxon.

They might have mario but we have giana sisters.

they might have battlefield but we got green beret.

They might have street fighter but we got the Last ninja series.

And they may have the graphics but we got the music !

I take ours anyday of the week over the mindless junk they put on the market now.. hardly any innovation left in todays computergames.

  • @bartosx How does that make any sense if Giana sisters is a rip off of Mario? The Mario, Battlefield, and Street fighter games have brought something inovative at somepoint during each of their series. All the games you've mentioned that "they have," have great music along with better gameplay than the games "you have." Games have gotten better with time. Not worse. Play Portal and tell me thats not inovative.

  • So great an intro, so great purpose, and all ruined by techno-music, where we were expecting SID. Such a shame. Please, do make this same video, with real SID music, and watch the view's go up :)

  • uau!! REALLY GREAT!!

  • that kikstart 2 remix is probably the most awesome thing I've heard in my life!

  • @guupsta childhood memories concluded in one epic sounding stadium trance track :]

  • 1337 thumbs up xDD

  • what have you done you've turned ik+ tune into eurotrash

and if you are going to do a remake of commando at least get the chords right

you should be ashamed of yourself

  • how dare you... to make a C64 MUSIC tribute, but then only use pop techno music????

  • @georgemargaris I'm half-agree. Yes, he should use originals, but then again I think it's cool that he used remixes. That way he show everyone that these games deserves good remixes. I like these remixes, and I'm not really into remixes.

  • @1337rofl ok, Maybe I overreacted... but that overly simple pop tekkno music plus the cheesy intro voice, and then the blatantly ignorant spelling mistakes

... well all that doesnt work for me.

C64 music means SID-Chip... If the Chip-sound is missing, its like you are getting married and forgot to invite your bride...???

LOL, I am half joking, still, the melodies are CULT!!!

  • @georgemargaris Haha, wouldn't that be awesome? Getting married, but forgot to invite the bride. I see your point, and I agree. There should be some C64 noises in the background indeed.

  • If only games were half as fun now...

  • Very cool video and brillant remakes of music. :)

    Dug it! :)

  • Thats the Greatest Tribute ive heard. I wish i download the Complete Tribute Sounds its like sooooo Great and bring me happyness

    Thanks

  • I was told something really cool about piracy back then. Some Radio stations would simply announce the game they were gonna give you and all you had to do, was to take your tape recorder to record, and play the game :D THATS what i call leeching !

  • Giana sisters raped Mario !

  • That karate game was cool

  • wow - cool remixes!!!

you shud do the nice uplifting poppy tune of bionic commando

wot was the name of the last game in this video? was it Triton?

  • about experimenting? cmon give me a break. most of the games of the era were just attempts to port the existing arcade games to personal computers.

  • @kuntosjedebil Wrong! Not so.

The vast majority of like RPGs, Adventures, and Sims could NOT be played any other way but on a computer, which was one of the advantages of having a computer (C64 hehe) for a game-machine.

And of course it was very much about Experimentation--how could it have been otherwise? Personal Computers were a new thing and only so much was known about them and what they could do. This continues to this day, albeit to a lesser extent.

    [continued in next post...]

  • @kuntosjedebil

    [...continued from last post]

At the time, computers were thought of rather more Scientifically, and what you're seeing in this video is just a minute sampling of the beginnings of the practical application of Computer Science for--and by--the Public.

So was it about Experimentation? Oh yes, it very much was. If it wasn't, computers wouldn't have advanced terribly far, compared to where Personal Computers are today.

  • :-)) cool

  • This is the best :) from an old woman ;)

  • great great video! i love it! :) especially that intro!! :)

  • The song that starts at 0.32. Would really like to know artist and name, insanly great track.

    COMMODORE FOREVER!!!<3

  • @AlexanderDupont

    @AlexanderDupont

at 00:32 thats the remix of the Commando soundtrack.. The original is from 1985 and is done by Hubbard (for the C64). The remix is by Instant Remedy as far as I know - just look on youtube for Instant Remedy (Commando V2).

    //C

  • @clashhard

HAHA thanks mate, really nice song. GOOD WEEKEND TO YOU! <3

  • @AlexanderDupont that would be Commando by Rob Hubbard.

  • I love it!

  • Hi guys

Does anyone know the name of the SOUND TRACK on that game ROCKET BALL.

I been looking for it for ages.

    Let me know

    Cheers

  • So agree with the theme of the vid. Started with C64, Amiga and PC after that. Cannot believe its been over 20 years. This Was my childhood. I feel old :/

  • Capitalism

  • Awesome!

  • Yeah, the beginning of the video says it all ^.^ old games > Any new game

We need to bring Character and soul back into game making :D

  • anyone knows how i can get that Kickstart II remix song.....its sooo F* good!!!!

please can someone put a link or something...ciaooo

  • Whats the name of the remix of commando! I need to know!

  • Awesome remixes! Five stars!! ehhrmm.. stars are gone. thumb up then!

check out my Delta Theme Recovermix c64 2010 posted as a videoresponse!

    cheers

  • Awesome....!!

  • =' (

  • I make music composed with or using Commodore computers myself. Click my name to hear some.

Or take a look at my alternate channel ONLYGOODCOMMIE. There I showcase some more of my own music, Commodore 64 promo material and a short video I made on C64-PC networking.

  • tracklist please ?

  • C64's MOS 6581 SID still sounds fresh and exciting.. The music in this video on the other hand is just generic and boring pop sound garbage. Originals are 100x better than these lame rip-offs.

  • @CultureWithoutBrders this is a tribute like it or not. Keep it alive !! omg lame rip-offs wtf this is a great video.

  • I knew the guy who created Giana Sisters and he was totally ripped off by the Ferrari driving cretin publisher who never paid him for his work. The game was #1 in Germany too.

  • Wowwwwww... Kickstart 2!!!! Thank you for the memories... now to find bard's tale III

  • ever played fallout 3? that game has character.

  • Also the "capatalism" reference is silly. It was the Reagan era LOL

  • @atari26003 I dislike it because it's mostly a crappy house remix and not the original SID sound.

  • I still have my Super Nintendo and I play Street Fighter 2 regularly with my friends.

Who needs those modern games with no gamefun at all.

  • @nokia3210fuck

There are really fun "modern" games. Ever tried LittleBigPlanet?

  • @nokia3210fuck bah...snes is no good for me. its all about my atari and vectrex and megadrive for me. and other old systems. especialy dos computer games

but i agree, old games are cool. but i like new games too

  • @nokia3210fuck Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude..... I have an xbox 360 and a PS3, and there are some great graphics there, but I never see a bigger smile on my friends faces when I whip out street fighter 2 on mame or capcom classics for Ps2.

  • @nokia3210fuck

i have street fighter 2 championship edition on my megadrive

its much more fun than new games like call of duty and all those fps games

  • @TailsX97

    Exactly !

  • amazing takes me back dude.

  • superrrr...

  • Comment removed

  • <3 AWESOME <3

  • i's right, we now don't enjoy the games, we only play them without any soul, and we don't care of the fun or the storyline of the game,we only care about who is the best one and what game has the best graphics,

i'd say the truth, C64,Atari,N64,NES and all those old school machines are best than that crap of PS3 and X360 with it's stupid controllers and project stupidness, sorry Project Natal

  • 3:58 ... I Need the Song name cant find it !!!

  • "I adore my 64 my commodore 64." Man thank you.

  • Thank you so much - My first ever experience with games when I was 9 in England.. had nearly everything you showed :)

  • WAHHH NOSTALGIC <3<3<3<3<3 remembers me of my childhood, i was playing these games like crazy i will never forget this

  • how could anyone dislike this video?? they must be dumb as bricks.

  • Omg so beautiful...

  • Green Beret was a fucking hard game!, had to get a cheat and clock it, really wanted to see the end screen! lol.. was I that bad?

  • sigh... nostalgia..

  • giana sisters looked just like mario bros. hmmmmm who's ripping off who here?

  • what is "capatalism" ? ;P

  • cool .. and thX !!

  • You shouldnt apoligize for the bad play that never bothered me while watching this video. Must ve watched it over 50 times now you enriched youtube with an awesome display what c64 was all about back then in the good old days, and you brought a smile to my face on so many ocasion with this video..

    thank you.

  • Cool video!

  • Lame dance remix crap - why not just leave them as they are?

  • Thank you for the video! Got some new music to listen to; Perfect music for blowing through my final projects in college! Always gotta love techno...

  • What sound apps do they use to remaster the songs...thats brill...the c64

...what a machine...i was always in trouble for being on that machine 24/7...

    3 days straight some times!!!

  • Im only 12 years old and currently own a Commodore 64 from my grandparents. I have learned to code and use programs on the C64. It is a amazing machine! Awesome gaming platform! Long live the C64!!!

  • @ExopodSoftware .I remeber those days some guy sold games on cassete about 150 games on 1 ,the makers colndnt make much money i guess -but anyway games was overpriced then by much. They could have sold much by going down in price but the industry acted like donkeys and retards much like now.

  • just great..just great!!

    I remember my childhood!!!

    It was a great time...

  • @TheEightiesLover i downloaded a rom emulators and games..still a kid at heart.

  • I played Commodore 64 in period between 1989-1991. I was about 5-7 years old than, I can remember that I play some formula, Schinobi Ninja and similiar stuff...all my neighbourhood was at my place and enyojing playing Commodore 64 together, games was an audio tapes... :)

  • Ooooh, sweet childhood... I love this video, i love C64! ;)

  • I think that the same game was somewhat better on c64 than on PC. Street Rod... and Outrun. they had better graphics on pc but c64 had better sound (music) and playability.. IMHO

  • Old memories.... I sold my c64 long time ago, and i still regret that.. Anyway, there are pretty good emulators nowadays, so i still play those games sometimes... :)

  • Just fkn amazing what those guys n gurls (? :)) did. The style will live on for longer than those of us who experienced it first hand will.

  • Rob Hubbard was a god.

  • kick ass video! and how true, no one appreciates the old games!

  • F ûck YEAH 5/5

  • Slay Radio Rules :):)

  • To bad that it has thoose lousy eurotechno beats. u had somethin but u totally failed......

  • @waldener , a legitimate question.

  • Haha. That Kung Fu Master -remix is teh coolest!

  • OMG!!! THE GAME COMMANDO is my CHILDHOOD!!

The Music Theme is soooo Great!!

    remember the great Time!!!!

  • @serjwill

I feel you m, same here

  • @serjwill wooooow my friend use to have a commando 128 ..this awsome

  • Im one of the few of the "Kids" who actually played a C64.

I loved it my faforite game was Ghost Busters. And then the bios of it crashed after 20 years. I still have all the games on a emulator though. And no these where not the real C64 songs but remakes still an awsome video though.

  • first of all, the comoodore was about graphics .. second, it was about capitalism .. most sold computer ever and third and most imprtant .. what idiot put this silly techno track onto the video.. gross

  • @Phunker1 the guy who likes C64 remixes?

    awesome movie anyway :)
