  • I was in s.f. in the 90's but the music....amazing! Nothing like it. Wish I could have experienced N.Y.!:'( I love it there!!!

  • Gave me goosebumps just watching this. Took me back in time. Boy, were those the good days (mostly nights)!

  • RAGTOP LOUNGE circa 1994. Theme based event room in the Palladium Engine Room. So ahead of their time. Lounge featuring jazz disco funk old school and insane hosts. Probably the most original thing Chris Reda and Jo-IE ever came up with concept wise. Wonder if those guys KNOT FOR NUTHIN are still around. Last I heard they did Shampoo Room @ Limelight before heading out to LV to create a new pool party in 1997

  • I miss partying here at Palladium!!!

  • Whatever happen to all the equipment form this club? Wish we had a club like this in the D.

  • the Palladium NYC 14th street was knock down to make the new take over of NYU building.

  • I f-ing loved that. I wish I could have gone... I just missed these years!!

  • Greatest club of all time.

  • Visually and design wise this was the Best Club in NYC EVER! Studio 54 couldn't touch this club, a step up for Ian and steve, the Michael Todd room , DJ Booth, connecting rest rooms with the Caves and Boiler room, The Balcony, Giant Video trons and House of Mirrors that would come down from the 60ft ceilings.

Was religiously every saturday night from 1987 to 1996.

Saw it go thru it's house,Techno, Arena, and Hip Hop faze.

    Some great memories.

R.i.p. to Tony A.K.A. Conan (Bouncer).

  • Wow! I totally love this place. I remember passing by it when I was around 15 and wondering what it was all about. Three years later, I was there as much as I could be. Thanks for the memories.

  • Hi. Is the Palladium out here in Hollywood the same as that one in NYC in terms of ownership or did they just licensce the name out? Live Nation owns the one out here.

  • @ricardoquinones

don't know if they licensed the name but it is'nt affiliated with this palladium, this was peter gatien's club and it was one of nyc best clubs at the time.

  • @grfranco122177 yeah he took it after steve rubell and ian schrager(owners of 54) around 91-92. i remember going there in the late 80`s...we`d play pool at julians next store b4 goin in..then up the block was underground and irving plaza..now theres nutn..

  • You did a great job on this video. I love the infomative bubbles that come up.

I'm mainly interested in the lights (looking at 1992 nyc club videos for this right now). What sort of moving lights were in that rig. They look like early Vari*Lite moving heads although in other videos from this club I've seen HES Intelabeams and lots of them.

  • No not intelabeams, Not sure the make but they are yoke lights moving heads. These are the original lights that were installed when the Palladium first opened. They had more but as time went by, more of them were removed due to malfunctions. I guess they used the old parts to repair what they had working and they were repair by the lighting engineer (Martin) at the Palladium.

  • The moving lights were Vari*Lite VL1 fixtures run from the original VL1 console. I used to be a Vari-Lite engineer and now am the Head of Lighting for Cirque du Soleil.

  • Where are you located? That's a cool gig! I love intelligent lighting and do design set's for my gigs.

  • wow I remember this club like it was yesterday! I had so much fun here :)

  • I remember i took a yellow taxi from the Palladium to Queens and the darn guy didn't know how to get to Queens, It was like 1988 or something , he charged me $25, but the Palladium back then was cool in the mid to late 80s

  • great video. thanks for taking us back in time. last memories were listening to the good men from the center of the main floor and then saw the comment you made! also, seeing Siz(old friend) on some Flex nights. House Music there was more like a home...

  • BXBOMBR i'm think that belongs to Strictly Rhythm's Latin Thang compilation 1994

  • Sounds so familiar....what's that track at 4:20..?? Thanks! Good lookin' out Kirk!! Big Up to all the OLD SKOOL HOUSE HEADS!!

  • Comment removed

  • the witch doctor by armand van heldon

  • If only they invented a time machine. Palladium would be my first stop. Do you know the artist and title to a song Charlie use to play often. I only know it use to go like: Slammer jammer to the funk, slammer jammer to the funk?

  • Use to go to CAN CUN with all the promoters, DJS, and MC Romeo...MISS ALL YOU guys. I think that whole murder thing with the club kids killed the whole scene.....Can anyone think of that song (need title and author) LOVE DANCING?

  • THE UNDERGROUND SOLUTION - Luv Dancin'

  • I believe the Palladium was taken down abit after I left in 1995, unless I stand corrected. And no you won't find a club like the Palladium. But I think they are really nice ones in NYC. Just won't know which one.

  • I remember that track at 6:25 myself, but not the name or who did it. I could of sworn it was a Green Velvet track, but It's not. I would like to know what mix of "Get Lifted" that is. Sounds like the Armand Van Helden mix but more cut up and bangin!
