  • @mschenker2 - This video was recorded on 6/12/77. NOT from '78!!

  • 流れるようなこのセクシーな指の動き。これぞ神!

  • My first concert, UFO( Wild, Willing, and Innocent tour) opening for Cheap Trick Baltimore Civic Center.

  • It`s easy to focus on Micheal, he is phenomenal, but the rest of the band was pretty bad also, and Pete Way could lay down a bottom and look cool as hell doin` it. They were way under rated...

  • Mestre Schenker.

  • 4th of July 1979, Day on the Green, Oakland CA, The Rockets, Nazareth, Thin Lizzy, J Giles, UFO & Journey. What a concert! When UFO played the opening notes of "love to love", I saw God!

  • @yambarudan i was there are you fucking kidding me what a great memory i was just about to graduate beyer high school in modesto and myself and two friends jumped in an old chevy nova and went to the concert..... what a great time that was......we also went to cal jam 2 but hate to say the day on the green was a far better time.....

  • @jefster1961 Right on! Those were some great times! Who knows, we might have shared a puff or two!

  • wow - that was great! whoever was at this show was very lucky indeed! pretty sad what is passing as rocknroll today.

  • Goosebumps,,,Man, I can even begin to express what this band meant to us in the Seventies...all those HS parties...with UFO CRANKED UP on the stereo. Its all you needed. No coversation...just crankit it up and party on...garth!! They never failed to RAISE THE ROOF!! They may be partially responsible for making me an alchoholic...LOL. ROCK N ROLL 101. If you don,t know UFO,,,well then your STILL Green,,,"Were the boys we got nothin to lose..if you aint with us then its just bad news. OMFG

  • @Razzzz77 70s High School Driving around with your car 4 Yes 4 Jensen Triaxl Speakers with Pioneer Super Tuner with FM & Cassette Tape & a 100 Watt Power Booster , 2 in the back window and 2 laying on the floor under your feet in the front of the car listening to Schenker & UFO ! Danny

  • @dannycorser I had a super tuner and jenson triaxles back then but no booster.I had a Clairion graphic eqaulizer

  • best band ever

  • 3 dummies

  • Unappreciated only by those who are ignorant to their music. I'm glad they wer never 2 commercial to the mass music market. I'd rather keep them for myself. They bring back so many great memories. I feel the same about MSG too!

  • Great song!!! :) Fantastic live performance

  • Ive done all these solos best as i can, pretty close, and never learned to use my pinkie finger, it just gets in the way...haha

  • i wish i was there !!

  • Schenker and Brian May have something in common, they hardly if ever use their pinkie playing a solo, maybe they know something we don't, maybe too much awesomeness will really make your face melt off.

  • one of my fave rock tunes..the genius of schenker raises its bar...

  • My band opened for Schenker back in the 80's. In the era of shit-hot guitar players he was in the top 10.

  • sha la la la roll you over, turn you round and do it again.....yeah.... reminds me of really good times

  • @ wvClifton His thumb is not always hanging over the fretboard. Look at 1:55 Sure looks fine to me. And as for only using 3 fingers, yes he mostly does,as have alot of great guitar players,it has nothing to with how "good" or "bad" they are. Hell I read an article back in the day, Randy Rhoads commented on the best 3 finger guitar player he ever heard was the guy from Saxon who's name ecaspes me atm. And hell, MS has made millions playing, what about you?

  • @wvClifton - If Schenker has such bad technique why don't you post a video to show everybody how it's really done ?!?!?!?!?!

  • UFO was HUGE in Chicago. Sold out two nights at the old Chicago Stadium.

  • @diosnake Saw them with Cheap Trick in Hammond, Indiana back in the winter of '77, the night before they were to headline the Stadium. They opened for Trick, but I think that was a probably part of a deal, as CT opened the next night for them at the MUCH larger venue. Yeah... Hammond Civic Center. With the basketball nets cranked up out of the way. Great show.

  • Comment removed

  • @matsellah I saw them summer of 77 Soldier Field Chicago THTH being the only song I recognized & Cherry. (radio play) No MS at that show it was PC ,I didn't know the difference anyway ,until buying Obsession just following,I was 12 and it was Zeppelin only..This concert kinda opened my closed little mind..I think it was Journey,M.Hatchett,Ufo What a great period in time that was. wow ! 34 years ago this coming August..Journey was Touring for the Infinity album turned out to be their best

  • @tjfreak Right on Dude, I saw them in '78, they opened for Blue Oyster Cult. I became a huge UFO fan that night

  • Yeah, MS can play. But his technique is shit!

  • @wvClifton His techique is perfect.

  • @loldacz If his guitar were a three stringed instrument, I would agree.

  • @wvClifton Not sure why you are saying that. Doesn't sound you know much about technique my friend...MS does not only have the finest techniques, but he has tone, soul and all of the above. He is out of this world...in my opinion, he is one the BEST!

  • @mgsq64 He only uses three fingers and his thumb is always hanging over the other side of the fretboard. Not how I was taught. I'm saying if he didn't have those habits, he could be even better.

  • @wvClifton haha such a douche comment, do you know anything about guitar?

  • @wvClifton How can you be better then the best?

  • @wvClifton you mean faster. which means you dont know what youre talking about, actually. haha.

  • UFO got no airplay in Detroit, not sure why.

I remember buying their first album on a whim because I liked the cover art, never heard of the band before. I was pleasantly surprised!

  • love some schenker!!!

  • Love that solo at the top of the Flying V fretboard , bloody hard to be precise (but Schenker is..)

  • Ron McGovney approves.

  • ufo is an awesome band--i got lights out album in 75 4 weeks early(i was 8 years old)from an rca exec who was my neighbor...to me theyre the best!!!

  • I wish they would release this entire show in video format!

    Best band of all time!

  • bought this album brand new....i remember tearin the plastic off...and wailin all night with some beers and good friends.....my favorite band...yeh, im old...haha

  • Phil, is that a microphone in your pants or, are you just glad to see me?

  • @dongtingwong hhahhaha

  • First concert I ever saw, Rush, UFO 1977 Swing Auditorium San Bernardino Ca. I was 17. It was the first day of the rest of my life. It blew my freekin' mind. Michael Schenker is the best. Funny thing is I shook his hand at another small venue in San Bernardino about 25 years later. It was pretty cool. I also shook hands with Eddie Van Halen at the US Festival and Tommy Shaw at an IN And Out Burger in Hollywood. All cool memories.

  • phil's got the derek smalls foiled covered cuke going on in front

  • Rock n' Roll!!!......Heavy Metal Style> Can't be done any better than that.Yea BABY!!!

This is MY kind of " Heavy Metal"

  • hellcife!!!!

  • Love it!!!!

  • sounds kick ass

  • Really good ... amazing!!!!!!

  • Man..you can just see Michaels intensity thru that hair....he dooesn't miss a note..tight and pro....even after probably 20 Lowenbraus...these guys were the shite in their day...Way,Mogg,Schenker,Raymond,etc....they could take anybody Live and often did!

  • I reckon he prefers Becks, cause he's from North Germany.

    Only Bavarians drink Lowenbrau

  • yeah, you're probably right.....that was me that used to drink the 20 Lowenbraus back then!lol

    Laters bro

  • Strangers in the Night is perhaps thee best live LP of all time. I cant even think of any that come close. Every single song on that double live LP is awesome.

  • Believer06-True as can be my friend!

  • I have to agree with you. if its not, its pretty close to being that....

  • @believer06 I agree, the only other live LP that comes close to this is Rainbow On Stage. RJD was the best live singer I've ever seen (7 shows) Michael S. is the best live show ever.....(12 shows)

  • bands today dont have as much raw talent as these guys! oh yeah what pro tools recording!! what awesome talent and great clean clear guitar solo live! with very little effect just add wah! this is pure hard rock....

  • What a band. Damn.

  • kingofthedeep, couldn't have said it better myself.

  • chapman liked a bc rich bich ten string, cut down to six

  • Roodbro, I still have my 1976 marauder. Lancasterjr, it was Schenker playing the Marauder. There's no way to mistake Schenker. It may have been in 1978 when UFO were on tour with Molly Hatchet and REO Speedwagon.

  • awesome!!

  • i kind of prefer waif/phenom schenker over overweight alkie schenker...just say'n...

  • also ...the reason you never see michael's face during live shows is that he has a bit of a phobia when it comes to large crowds so he covers his face with his hair so HE can't see YOU....

  • quem não gostar de um som desse deve ser filho da puta, sonzão da porra.

  • I saw them on this tour in Boston. They were a Phenomenon. Blackfoot backed them up. I remember that Micchael Schenker did not use his Flying V, but instead used a black Marauder. I bought one and own it to this day. Pete Way was the most physical bass player I've ever seen, running and jumping most of the time. I loved it. I think the way Schenker made his string ends all bent up is pretty creative too. The ones on his Marauder were straight, but uncut. Phil Mogg was one of the best singers.

  • A Black Marauder? No shit??

    Wonder how that sounded...

  • Blackfoot opened for them in 1980 and schenker had already left the band - i think you saw paul chapman playing for them - i don't think schenker used anything but, a flying v

  • Yer right.

  • Do you still have the Marauder. I have a 1978 Gibson Marauder S2. It rocks

  • Schenker played a Marauder? Oh this is so creepy. I had a Marauder. i had gotten rid of it and picked up a 69 Flying V back in 1982.

Schenker probably borrowed it from either Blackfoot or a local shop. Likely, cuz it was one of the times he busted his V. The things been broke a # of times and put back together. If you see some early MSG pics, you may come across a shot where you can see a steel plate behind the headstock holding it together.

  • Fuckin great classic rock baby!!

  • Awesome classic rock band! Yes, the UFO history dvd this comes from has some great footage of these guys, along with other line up changes. My favorite has always been with Michael Schenker!

  • Saw UFO in 1978 at Charleston, WV, 3 bands:The Motors,UFO, AC/DC. I still have ticket stub, cost $3.50. Will never forget MS guitar.

  • Lucky Bastard!

  • I saw them in '79 (no Schenker) with AC/DC opening at the Capital Center in Largo, Md. for $4.00 with free parking...I still have my ticket stub and the review from the next days Washington Post...they must have sent a strictly Classical music buff because the free parking was about the only nice thing he said...he didn't get AC/DC at all and it was probably only Love to Love that even got him to stop sulking and take any kind of notice. It was an amazing show even without Michael...

  • Interesting story! These bands created amazing music.

  • the most i saw back in '79 was the exit of my moms love hole

  • The Motors!?

    Oh hell yeah!

I had given up on ever finding another human who remembered them.

Thanks for the UFO footage. I caught them in 79 I think it was.

I love pretty much everything Schenker has done.

But his time with UFO is most special for me.

  • I can beat that! I saw them on a club tour in England in 1974! My mate said "they've got this song called Rock Bottom, wait 'til you here that!'" He was right.

    They were absolutely brilliant...........

  • Saw them in 1975 at Winterland in San Francisco..Had no idea who they were..Found out They were pretty good

  • My band plays hot n ready as one of our cover tunes and people tell me "Bad ass song! and I tell em "Fuck we didn't write it UFO did" and they go "huh?"

It's great to play lesser known band's songs as covers because most of the audience thinks it is an original tune, and the band didn't have to write it!! Just as long as the band doesn't take credit for the song. That's fucking dirty.

  • cool song, we used to do shoot shoot in 1979

  • I saw this version of UFO open for AC/DC in

'79 Pete Way stole the show....

  • actually UFO headlined that tour was Molly Hatchet at that gig?

  • I always thought that Nikki Sixx' inspiration was Pete Way.

  • seen schenker live with MSG. I rate him as one of the top 3 greatest guitarist of all time

  • UFO ... one of the best UK bands ever. Seen em live ... incredible

  • in 1977 I bought one of their tshirts with TOO HOT TO HANDLE on it- man, I didn't realize that that stupid shirt would get me LAID so much...Thanks, UFO !

  • @activ8now thats fuckin cool!

  • @activ8now where can i get one of them shirts???

  • @luigithunders Gee, bud, beats me; mine got torn off of me so many times I eventually had to throw it out- too dangerous to wear in a crowd of rocker babes!

  • @activ8now the women in your locality must have very, very good taste.

  • @activ8now It may not have been the shirt... girls usually judge a guy by his body not what is covering it. :) Just saying...

  • @609Blondebomb ....OK, OK, if you insist; it was my body...but the UFO t-shirt sure seemed to help! ;)

  • Friggin UFO is too hot to handle....Most unappreciated band in rock history.

  • Amen to thta, brother!!!

  • @unchained64 So True!!

  • @unchained64 YOU ARE CORRECT SIR

  • thank i remember look 2 x in Belgium to forest national, ufo with Phil Mog and Michael Schenker

is an very legend of rock n rool hard, The live and other of ufo is ever fabulous and incredible

thank my friendMichael, thank baby, thank

  • Schenker will always be the Man. At his best in UFO. I sure do love that band after all these years

  • micks a blues guitarist with a rock edge any one whos seen him play in the bars in Hannover will tell you that .hes not God thats for sure god dont do charlie and he dont drink glen fiddich

  • Michael Schenker is GOD!

  • he has the office above god.

  • I think this is one of the most underrated bands. Ever since I got Sirius, I hear them on buzzsaw.

  • Maybe Im the only one but is anyone esle not trilled with the re release of "strangers" and the new more accurate play list song order..i say, keep it the same....I love the orignal opening song

  • I'm not aware of this..what did they do fuck it up?? I hate when they rearrange and tweek shit for these re-releases! Fill me in bro..!

  • Damn, that 67 V!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Michael Schenker has the greatest ability to take a simple melodic chord pattern in so many tunes and embellish it even further with a signature solo that withstands the test of time. One of my all time favorite guitar pickers!!

  • saw them for the OBSSESSION tour....they did this song

  • I don't kno

  • I've been waiting for this for a long time.

  • Where do people find these videos??? A welcome blast from the past, Schenker at his prime, and I agree, there is no greater live album than "Strangers In The Night!"

  • Is there a greater live album than "Strangers In The Night"? I think not.

  • Lizzy's "Live & Dangerous." But "Strangers In The Night" is a VERY close #2. I played the needle through both of 'em back in the late 1970s.

  • Rock And Roll!!!

  • much too bad Michael could not control his alcohol daemon.

  • wow is this the the golden compass...daemon

  • Maybe not alcohol, but he controls those Gibson Flying V's, doesn't he? Great feel! (Although most disagree, I think Yngwie also has great feel. I HATE when people automatically equate speed with lack-of-feel). I heard Schenker liked early Leslie West a lot, so that could explain his bitchin' Tone & Vibrato! Peace!

  • WOW!!!!!
