How refreshing to think of God as Mother. This is not unbiblical at all - God is so awesome that we must use metaphors to understand God. So we talk of God as child (Christmas), brother (Jesus), father, friend -- why not loving mother as well?

Absolutely gorgeous! What's even better than the music is the feminine imagery. Modern Christianity lacks much of the imagery that the early church possessed.

amazing. me and the select choir i'm in are singing this for our fall concert. our choir director knows bobby mcferrin personally. its the most amazing song i've ever sang. i love it. it teaches us dyconance and to know our own part indiviually.

I use to have this album (from "don't worry be happy"), and was reminded of it recently (lost the cd somewhere), BUT, this Is probably the most "Soulful" song on the album... LOVE IT ! Love the "reverence" to the female...
