Very good tutorial. If you are just starting to do panoramas, this is a great place to start. Covers the basics and gives you enough manual input to appreciate the process. Good to start here before jumping into projections and the other complex stuff. Thanks
Aaargh. This is driving me nuts. Managed to assemble all the layers but when I try using the move tool, it doesn't move a layer it just seems to make the layer smaller but still in the same place. Crazy.
I'm just getting into using Gimp - making test graphics for my novel needs. You did a great job and I'm hoping to find out that you have other tutorials I can use.
Thanks again for (1) being clear-spoken, and (2) maintaining a comfortable pace. I've "Liked" this video, and will probably subscribe.
@2RSkipG Thanks for the nice comment. I have a few more Gimp tutorial videos on my channel, and I have some more that I've written on my website. I hope you find them helpful. Thanks again :)
I have the plug-in and all the photos I want to arrange ready. I am following your steps but I want to create a vertical panorama, can you still do this with this plug-in? I am having real trouble. Could you offer any advise?
@Tennishead21 Yes, one thing you could try is rotating all the images 90 degrees before opening them as layers, then following this tutorial, then rotate the finished image back 90 degrees once you're finished. Also, there is a free program called hugin that does an even better job of making panoramas, and it also handles vertical panoramas.
Thank you very much for this tutorial! I thought that making a panorama would be difficult, but the way that you explained it actually makes it very easy to understand.
@jh3835 Thank you for the comment. Since you saved so much money, making a donation to me on my website would support bringing you more money saving tutorials! danielveazey com
thanks for putting this video!! ur english is quite easy to understand for me and could make nice panorama of kamakura trip^^
but i have question...paintbrush tool thing didn't work for my pics(i wanted to delete some blurry clouds)it doesn't work if the color of pic is bright?
@worldhearts I'm not sure exactly what the problem you're experiencing is, but make sure you're painting on the layer mask and not the layer itself, and only paint in areas where two photos overlap.
@odycam No one has ever told me that. They ask me if anyone has told me that all the time, but no one has actually ever told me that. J/K. Thanks for watching :)
Thank you very much. I am a new GIMP user. I take photos as a hobby and need a good Linux tool to do landscape panoramas so I can progress in my hobby. You have explained very simply, what is to me a complex graphical editing process. Again thank you. :-)
@timshapiro Pretty neat stuff on your deviant art page there. I was thinking about how one might achieve a vertical panorama using Gimp with the Pandora plugin. One could rotate all the individual photos 90 degrees, then run the plugin, then rotate the entire image back 90 degrees. While that's probably a little more hassle than how it can be done in Photoshop, Gimp is less expensive. I'm finding out every day that Gimp is much more robust than I first realized.
@timshapiro Thank you for commenting. Photoshop is a great program. As far as the Pandora plugin for making panoramas in Gimp, I have been happy with the results I've gotten.
@HDriding1 I'm not 100% sure how it is set up in OSX, but look in your applications folder for a folder called "gimp." The scripts folder will probably be in that folder.
I got a FANTASTIC series of shots of the sunset yesterday and I can't wait stitch them together. Thank you!

@geetarmama I think Dialogs is in the Windows menu, just to the left of the Help menu.

@geetarmama I think you click on Dialogs -> Layers. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+L.
