You are right in saying that the Lakers blew a 3-1 lead against Phoenix. But, it was also their first year under the triangle defense and they were a young team. If you really want to look at the Lakers from a historical perspective, I think it's a losing cause for you. The Lakers have the most wins as a NBA franchise, highest winning percentage (61.5%) and most appearances in the NBA finals. They have only missed the playoffs FIVE times. That's a real team w/ a tradition of excellence.
