  • Nice !!!

  • I am 80's brought me here

  • MISFITS and DONNIE DARKO!!

I finally found out what this song is yess!!

  • My love for Ian and EATB brought me here ;)

  • Sorry about all the typos on my previous post, I copied and pasted to reword my message and it went kind of wrong. Just for the record, I've loved EATB since I was 14, and that was in the 80's. And I don't think I'm better than others for that.

  • I have always loved The Bunnymen and they don't make music like this anymore it is now aches to th ears and senses.... This song is memorable and I agree thatif anyone comes to find a song cuz of a movie should really listen to the artists other songs before passing on judgements. I know people do it all the time I have done it once or twice but checked out other songs by those bands and was surprised... I guess it is a marketing ploy to make a theme song catchy and likealbe...

  • My depression brought me here

  • Satan brought me here...

  • Wil Sergeant. Cool as fuck.

  • If you're so impressionable to listen to song because of a movie, you lack what it takes to be a human.

  • @TheFeralFlicks How come you have such need to be offensive with perfect strangers? If a kid discovers an old song bc of a movie or a video game what's the problem? thThe good thing is they CAN appreciate it. Sadly you don't hear this kind of music on the radio anymore and these kids were not even born when this came out, so why slagging them off? Is it a crime being young and not having heard to every single song ever released bc they're hardly ever aired? Come on!

  • @TheFeralFlicks that's just so wrong!bad karma!suck a fuck!

  • Ocean Rain brought me here.

  • best version out there...RIP Pete...

  • Cruelly enchanting.

  • Unexpectedly found this in my CD collection. Totally forgot I had it! :O

  • Best Song ever!

  • I need new earphones. My right one's busted and I feel like I've left out my right ear :(

  • I was brought here by Echo & The Bunnymen.

  • Simon is my favourite Misfit.

  • like this if Donnie darko brought you here! ;D

  • why can't itunes have this version? this one is wayyyy prettier. everything rocks, the instruments, his voice and the lack of extra keyboard

  • Growing up in the 1980's brought me here!

  • very nice!

  • misfits brought me here <3

  • 28 days... 6 hours... 42 minutes... 12 seconds. That... is when the world... will end.

  • @lakai958 can't wait!

  • This song is so haunting and delicious at the same time, some time words arent enough.

  • ''Suck a fuck''??? Could someone, anyone, plz kindly explain to me what that means.

Btw, big fan of this song & Echo.

  • @daypeshmodd It's a quote from the movie Donnie Darko. Most younger people such as myself first heard this song from the opening scene of that movie. Great film check it out.

  • @EJxEcstasy Thx! I've seen Donnie Darko when it came out & I liked it a lot (I'm thinking of watching it again). I even recommended it at the time. I also remember there's some great music in there & I'm happy to know that it helped younger people, like you, to discover it.

But to come back to ''suck a fuck'', it doesn't really mean anything, right?

  • @daypeshmodd The actual phase "suck a fuck" has no meaning on its own. It was just something Donnie's sister said to mock him after calling her a "fuck ass," which also has no meaning. Hope that clears it up.

  • @EJxEcstasy Thx again. That's what I thought.

  • fabulástico

  • Whoever doesn't like this song, you're a fuckass.

  • I LOVE thIS BAND !!!! I MEAN IT !!!!!!!!!

  • @clarapop87 I first heard these guys on misfits lol. It's kinda weird I like these guys, im a 90's kid you see, so I grew up with the likes of metallica, the cult and guns n roses lol

  • Muito bom....

  • @jasnoGT I personally think these guys are better than the cure, and I've been a cure fan for a good few years now whereas I only discovered these guys a couple of months ago lol

  • @TheGazmaniac I know right? I'm an '80's kid and I only heard the name of the band in school but I never bothered listening to them. Tonight I saw 'em on a vidoe on tv for my first time and I thought OMG! These guys are AMAZING! I LOVE THE CURE and now I'm a HUGE EATB fan. :)

  • that is what ya call talent!

  • Echo and the bunneymen are one of the most underrated bands of their era. Must be the name.

  • Addicted to this song. Love it xxx!

  • OMG my hair is kinda like McCulloch's, except mines that way 'cause I haven't showered in a few days.

    : (

You didn't really need to know that, did you?

  • my god that hair is to die for... and the song's pretty good too :)

  • The Cure Vs. This...hmm who wins?

  • @JasnoGT Yeah, both god bands but the biggest difference is one guy accidetally stuck his finger in an electrical socket and the other guy did it on purpose.

  • Bands like this make me so glad i come from the greatest city!

  • They just don't make haircuts like that anymore.

  • @jenharder1

    hahaha

  • "your lips a magic world" is wonderful !

and...how can we join the Taliban?....if anyong can tell me the registration phone number?

  • If you don't like this song, I don't know what to tell you - go join the Taliban or something....

  • such a soulful tune

  • beautiful...great vid....genius song

  • If you like this then you will like the band I manage, The Ran-Tan Waltz.. Hyped by NME, major support slots last/this year, 2 big London shows coming up in April. New EP released on Philophobia Records etc... Vids on the youtube profile x

  • I LOVE THEIR HAIR!!!!!!

  • I've heard this song somewhere before. It's so awesome!

  • @RedMist85

From Donnie Darko? I watched it for the 100th time last night. Such good music in that movie. 80s style baby.

  • @oukurt Yeah, I think from Donnie Darko and The Girl Next Door. Hell yeah! 80's rocked!

  • The Girl Next Door

  • Tell me, how does one go suck a fuck!?

  • @bmwm321m that's funny!

  • @bmwm321m

    I'm all ears!

  • The 80's were a poor decade in music compared to the 90's or 70's. But, there is good music to be found in every decade. This song stands out as one of the best from the 80's in my opinion.

  • @whpriol1 Wow a decade that sprung most of the post Punk and new wave bands in history> te 80's was poor compared to the 90's? you must be young. Do your homework.

  • @whpriol1 Wow a decade that sprung most of the post Punk and new wave bands in history> 80's was poor compared to the 90's? hmmmm the clash, Pistols,Bowowow, Japan ....you must be young. Do your homework.

  • I haven't seen donnie darko but knew of this song before it was on that film. Johnny depp is somehow always involved with something that has good music in it.

  • i know this song from "The girl next door" i love that movie and this song :P

  • O: awful? I love Donnie Darko, one of my favourite films, it's the only reason I know this song :)

  • almost don't want to like it because it was in that godawful movie i will not mention.

  • @billybobthe3rd Donnie darko is a class film man

  • @undatone I understand that people love it, and it has a tremendous cult following. To me it's a film that strives to be profound and reveal existential truths, but it is much too immature and amounts to nothing. Just my opinion :) I'd rather watch "Eraserhead" for something abstract.

  • Comment removed

  • @undatone its so good they made it apart of my philosophy class in college

  • I've seen them perform this live twice in my life - mesmerizing to see it live.

  • Amo!Amo!Amo!Amo!

  • 26 people can go suck a fuck!

  • LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! WHAT A GREAT SONG!

  • A shame that most people only know this song because of winky ass shit like Donnie Effin' Darko--but then, I suppose the Bunnymen are glad for recognition however it comes. It's just sad that it had to be tied to that bizarro nonsense (and usually bizarro is good). Ah, well..

  • aso the coldplay remark was dead on i mean lets face it if coldplay ever got their lyrics or melody above a whisper and put some power into their work i think chris martin would explode lol... this i a cool song for the road

  • i like this its cool

  • The 25 people who disliked this are just not cool enough for this.

  • I agree with Heshter the Bunnymen never rose above their cult, but indie status while U2 went on to conquer the world. There's no justice!,

  • I remember this song from Donnie Darko, I'm sure rolyat360 heard this from Donnie Darko too... " Suck a fuck "... Lol

  • timeless classic

  • all music is good it just depends on your taste, cant stand hip hop but have to admire a rappers talent to string words together.

  • These make me proud to be from Liverpool.

  • If you dont like this song you can go suck a fuck!

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut I don't like this song. It sucks. Commence trolling.

  • what a badass band and what a badass movie

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut agreed! hear this on donnie darko by any chance??

  • @charliepresland you know it! I love the film. If you like movies like Donnie Darko.. check out A Clockwork Orange. You'll prolly like it.

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut SAME! :D i have, and i love that film :L

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut you're such a fuckass.

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut Tell me, Elizabeth, how exactly does one suck a fuck?

  • @XxMissNoNamexX lol :]

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut yea fuck ass!

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut

Exactly how does one suck a fuck, Donnie?

  • @Hollrisster lol

  • @lakai958 yea i get that a lot.. ;P

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut oh, jesus, donnie darko rocks. awesome comment.

  • @Rolyat360OoOoOOut like, so so much

people that dislike this are such fuck asses

  • Donnie Darko!

  • @GiLLsY151

Sod Donnie Darko. That's like someone shouting 'Oooo, The Da Vinci Code!' from the back of a group of people standing transfixed before the soddin Mona Lisa.

  • @mindlagoon get over yourself you faggot. I was merely mentioning where I heard the song. Get a life and fuck off gay cunt

  • @GiLLsY151 Donnie Darko was lame and hoaky. It could have been decent were it not for the whole "Philosophy of Time Travel" and manipulated living and dead crap.

  • @GiLLsY151

yeah.......i too heard it for the first time in donnie darko........

  • Rolón!!!!! y en vivo más!!!!

  • I lose respect for anyone who thinks todays music is dead. If thats really what you feel, you're just lazy.

  • La mejor canción, yo diría de la historia de la música.

  • I saw echo and the bunnymen twice in 1981 in Toronto. They were incredible.

  • There was no coldplay without echo......

  • i was born in the worng era!! this music is so awesome! imagine being a teenager when this type of music was around! ah i would have loved it.

  • @samanthaolvera

when I think about this, I feel so sad...

  • @EivinasButkus y? o.O

  • @samanthaolvera

Because today music is sh*t :(

  • @EivinasButkus yes yes it is! xD well some of it is good :D

  • @samanthaolvera Lmao me too!!!!

  • @bookwormgal1996 hahaha! :D

  • what kind of guitar is that at the beggining of the song? is that just a 12 string or is that something else.. i know that guitar pulls this song together so well..

  • @DinoVice vox teardrop

  • @DinoVice Will's playing an Italian made Vox Teardrop 12 string w/a tremolo unit. Mac is playing an acoustic 12. Translation: Jangle city.

  • great band!!!!!!!!!!

  • DONIIEEEEEE DARRRKKOOOOOOOO

  • i love, love this song! they're from the 80s! great song

  • every time i hear this now, i think of Donnie Darko...i'm sure someone else has probably said that already, oh well, i said it too...great song and great movie...

  • im in love with this song, first time i heard was in themovie "the girl next door"

and then in donnie darko too

i love it, i love his voicce

i think this version is better than the audio one

    :)

  • like this era of this band5*****<3R!

  • Classic !

Lucky chancers like Coldplay will spend their entire career trying (and failing) to get within the same continent as talent like this

  • @heshter brilliant analysis : )

  • @heshter exactly!

  • @heshter this is so true! coldplay has nothing.

  • @heshter coldplay sounds nothing like this. there both great bands

  • @heshter Ma che cavolo c'entrano le altre bands? Bah!

  • @heshter how did you work that one out? Coldplay made their success for themselves and absolutely eclipse bands like these in every way

  • @JHornevideo ...financially yes, and there's the injustice

  • @heshter : ¡Exactly! Also, where would bands like Coldplay be today if not for the amazingly talented bands that preceded them like Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths, Joy Division, The Church and many others. Echo & The Bunnymen where and are on a completely higher plane than Coldplay. Trying to convince anyone that Coldplay is somehow better than Echo & The Bunnymen is indeed a futile endeavor.

  • @heshter so right.... music today BLOWS

  • Anyone know what song it is that plays on their official website?

  • Th Bunnymen... now I got the 'Frank' link... took me ten years though XD

  • Opening Guitar is a the same kind of tule style (color as well) bass body as Ben Orr from the Cars. I want it in a base as well. Anyone know who makes it?

  • It's a Phantom Teardrop.

  • I saw the Bunnymen twice in the early eighties. I loved them at the time but they have dated badly. I was uncomfortable being a fan because they were scousers and I hate scousers. Seriously though they really are shite. Will Sargeant is a pox faced scouse cunt.

  • ian should have stopped getting old at that time. he was gorgeous.

  • I miss he 80's...

  • Great song, audio is a little low tho...

  • fate up against your will.... Wow, never got that message in the eighties, just loved the music.

  • new wave and exclusive

  • very underated! Great song!

  • though I know it must be the killing time, unwillingly mine..

  • Love it !!

  • The singer kind of looks like Eraserhead.

  • cool!

  • not underrated by those who followed them in the eighties.

or anyone lucky enough to see them live.

  • @pfg333 will be seeing them next sunday at tramlines fetival in sheffield :):):):)

  • @pfg333 ... true, I've seen them 7 times since the 80's and they still tour ... it's awesome!

  • The under echo shadow of the Beatles, no...?

  • @vonenck .. yeah.. no.

  • pete is kickin ass in this

  • Love this song

  • Quality will always shine through

  • still the best ever!!

  • Oh Pete, you were so gorgeous...still gutted 21 years after you've left us.

  • I cannot believe that they manage to make the song sound even better...

  • Seeing them in oxegen this year!!

  • makes the movie "donnie darko" even more awesome tnan any other drew directed movie duh!@!!

  • We used to cover "The Cutter" - this band was cool.

  • Happy Birthday Ian McCulloch (May 5)
