Bunch of disgraceful un christian hippies! God, made man ruler of animals. Animals are here to be harvested by man. Anti hunters are so ignorant yet want to act like they are so smart. A lot of people depend on hunting to feed their families. How about these idiots put their time and energy into the human race instead of the animal race. Would these people rather families of humans starve because they can't afford food or provide for their families with meat from hunting?
they are right you fuckheads. Why can't we have human hunting instead of the animals. Lots of murderers in prison are justing sitting around. Why can't we hunt them for fun. I mean they deserve to die but these wild animals have done nothing! Oh and by the way i mean every single word i said!
I love how there is a woman in here saying this is a trophy hunt and she knows nobody who would eat bear. Pretty sure she has to be one of the most uneducated people that I have seen. I love to hunt and love to bear hunt as well. I have pounds upon pounds of bear meat in my freezer. I think if antihunters would get their heads out of their asses they would see that without hunters, populations would keep rising and animals would starve to death which is worse than being taken out ethically.
an animal should only be killed by humans for food because we are predators, self defense, for fun or to use the coat as winter coat to keep the person warm but I don't like it when animals are hunted to near extinction just hunt no more then what you need
@irelandcool1 did you say that animals should be hunted for fun?! i hunt to use as much as i possibly can, and i enjoy hunting to be honest. granted, i dont NEED to hunt, but to know how to harvest food from the wild is perfectly fine especially if our American economy continues to fail. which do you think is better for me? to get 50 pounds of GOOD meat for one (or two at the most) bullet that is maybe $1.25? or go buy meat from anywhere between $1.50-$10 per pound
Twenty people protesting with signs against 5000 bear hunters with guns. Hah!
And btw, I know 200 people who would love to eat a bear! And how is it a "trophy hunt" if they strongly encourage shooting cubs? These protesters are clearly out of touch with reality.
Calling on N.J. hunters to speak up against baiting bear with human and pet food in the woods. Unfortunately, this is the norm. The first 264 kills showed up at the weigh stations right on time but unless you kill every bear, all the others that hit your pile will most likely come out again looking for what they got a taste for in residential garbage. This could go on for generations. I know there are some real hunters left-please speak up. Please see Donuts for Boo Boo N.J. on YouTube.

as a resident of jersey i do not agree with this hunt. were taking away all of there homes by putting up new condos, houses and stores etc. why cant we use sterilization of the females. most people who are hunting aren't doing it for the meat there doing it for the furs. I am appalled by this and can tell you i will not vote for Christie her is doing a terrible job, first cutting school funding and now this.
@katherine11982 WAIT! so if we round up every single female american black bear in New Jersey and perform a sterilization procedure to stunt reproduction that'll stop the bear hunts??? Oh but the money to do that, and plus if we did bear populations would decrease on lack of reproduction so youd do more damage. btw i live in monmouth and am a hunter so lolololololololololol on your part. Plus, why would a hunt a perfectly good bear without a pelt. to me, thats a waste of a perfectly good bear
@Firecloud500 we are punishing bears we are the reason that they have no place to go to live if we continue to destroy there homes to put up malls, homes, and condos of course there going to end up in our yards. I understand hunting animals i support hunting, but this hunt for the most part was ll bout trophy hunting. I have my right to my opion as do you, but they are only ending up in peoples back yards becouse were ruining there homes they were there first.
@katherine11982 i can agree with you on the grounds of human civilization encroaching on the bears habitats, but the fact is that they're population always rises during the few years without bear hunting. And because of this borderline towns may happen upon an increase of contact with bears. So we'd have to do a hunt then, what else would we do to stop interaction between humans and bears? Unless we're thinking about razing those towns to put more woods in to decrease interactions.
@Firecloud500 Bears rarely interact with humans they are shy and will only attack to defend themselves or their cubs, bears will also attack to protect their food and people should know not to run away from a bear as that triggers their predatory instinct and they can outrun humans
@irelandcool1 well you don't need to state the obvious on the normal reactions of bears on human encounters with them. I mean everything you posted was all common sense and anyone would know that.
I applaud NJ for allowing the bear hunt. We have much bigger problems than allowing a bear hunt, like our millions of dollars we're in debt..protest that
@ShawnyMacNukka your an idiot there is no reason for the hunt, i dont mind hunting in general i think its a good way of controling population but most people are doing it for just the furs.... And i do agree with you about the debt and id like to know why people are protesting all the school cuts christie made.
Guys I see come in the shop took the short bear class, got permits and have no idea what ammo, gun to use or where to aim for a clean kill. Should have been a test after-wards. Minimum dollar per pound from a bear butcher who can deal with the half foot of fat and extract edible parts. $300-$500 for a little return. Many are deciding to go for smaller ones or just skip the meat and just do the taxidermy/rugmaking. New guys, especially, don't know how to field dress before hand anyway.
Gov. Christie, you’ve been traveling around the country, promoting yourself for a run for national office. You can be sure that when you come to my state looking for votes to further your political career, I am going to remember this hunt!
Stop this savagery, Christie, and stop pandering to the NRA gunslingers!
A sustainable harvest of a renewable resource is humans living in harmony with animals and nature.
