Anyways, what you want, assuming you've got your 7seg connected using your current limiting resistors/driver, you'll want to use your initial counter's clock input as your "switch". I used a 10kohm resistor/push button to generate the logical high/low signal needed.

The 7-segment displays are each SK2052 displays each driven by it's own seven segment dispay driver. I had purchased all of my supplies at a local electronics shop
